Chapter 80: I Died
Xia Feng ignored the Earl’s mockery, his gaze lost on the Woman in Red Dress.
Seeing Xia Feng as if he was in a trance, the Earl knitted his brows, sneering inwardly. How dare he covet this King’s wife? He truly doesn’t know the immensity of heaven and earth.
With that thought, he lost the desire to bother further. He turned and picked up his daughter, walking towards the dream device. But halfway there, he suddenly froze.
His mind recalled the Duchess’s words from earlier, ‘Xia Feng, when did you arrive?’
The Earl felt something was not right.
This seemed to be the first time the Duchess had spoken to a stranger?
And she had even called him by name precisely, asking a very strange question: When did you arrive?
It was as if they knew each other. A sense of unease inexplicably arose in the Earl’s heart, but he couldn’t quite pinpoint why.
He turned back to look at the man outside, his brows furrowed in contemplation for a moment, then he let out a cold laugh:
“Fine, isn’t it enough to just deal with this brat?”
Since he felt uneasy, it was best to eliminate the source of this potential ill omen directly. With that in mind, he glanced at Li Hongdou.
Originally, according to his backup plan, he was supposed to let Li Hongdou enter a realistic dreamscape constructed by ‘Dream Calamity’. In the dream, she would witness Xia Feng’s life being threatened, thereby forcing her to willingly accept a mother.
But now that Xia Feng had shown up himself, there was no need to proceed with the backup plan.
After all, constructing an incredibly realistic dreamscape was difficult and time-consuming. Based on past experimental experience, it would take at least three to four hours, during which too many variables could arise.
It was better to seize Xia Feng right now and, at the same time, eliminate the source of the ill omen that was causing him unease!
The only risk was having to leave the Boundless Field barrier, but it was a risk worth taking.
After all, there were no Fourth-stage Spirit Masters outside. As long as no one could instantly kill him, he would be safe.
Moreover, Xia Feng was just a mere First-stage Spirit Master.
After staring at the Duchess for a while, Xia Feng slowly closed his eyes, his heartbeat quickening slightly.
As expected, his previous judgment was correct! He and the Duchess could indeed establish a contract! He had felt something was not right when he brought Mushroom in earlier, and now that he was back, it was finally confirmed.
A flood of information entered his mind. He extracted a few key pieces of information from the complex and disordered sea of data.
[Gui Hua※Calamity Contract]
[Birth Day: Today – 19 hours remaining]
[Pledge Allegiance Status: Pledged allegiance (Xia Feng)]
[Linkage Level: 38% 39% 40%]
[Status (Abnormal): Imaginary Curse, Weak Existence Force, Cannot complete birth]
He hadn’t received this information when he saw the Duchess at the banquet. But today, perhaps it was because today was her birth day?
Of course, one point made him even more puzzled: even though the birth ritual hadn’t been completed and the existence force hadn’t been fully recognized, why had he inexplicably gained the Duchess’s allegiance?
Also, when did he gain the Duchess’s allegiance?
Had some ritual occurred that he was unaware of? Xia Feng was filled with ten thousand questions, utterly bewildered.
Just as he was lost in thought, the Earl, who had walked out of the Boundless Field, appeared in his peripheral vision, startling him. He suddenly snapped to attention and looked at him, his gaze full of doubt:
“Why did you come out?”
The Earl felt this brat was a bit slow. Had he really become infatuated with this King’s wife?
He sneered disdainfully, stomped his foot, and his dark purple Spirit Robe ignited. His Spirit Pressure spread outwards from him as the center, and as dust waves surged, purple flames cracked from the Spirit Robe, converging into rotating arrows.
“Brat, let’s see how many of my moves you can block.” Twelve purple flame arrows floating around him shot towards Xia Feng’s face simultaneously. They rapidly enlarged in Xia Feng’s pupils.
Lightning Strike – electricity flashed beneath Xia Feng’s feet, and his figure flickered through the arrow formation. In an instant, he appeared directly above and in front of the Earl. With his hands gripping his saber like a slam dunk, he brought it down with a triple blood wave! The Earl was split in two, from head to foot!
“Boom!!!” As the floor cracked and shattered, his halved body disintegrated into purple petals, slowly falling to the ground.
Xia Feng’s expression was calm as he turned around. Not far away, a Middle-aged man in an elegant deep red tailcoat hovered mid-air, surrounded by countless purple petals. His expression was one of slight surprise: “Your Spirit Pressure strength… are you a Second-stage Spirit Master?”

Xia Feng spread his hands and smiled: “Obviously.”
Seeing the young man’s confident and relaxed demeanor, the Earl’s lips curled: “Promoted from First-stage to Second-stage in less than a month. Young man, you are indeed a rare genius, but unfortunately, you’ve chosen the wrong side.”
“Mhm, you’re absolutely right,” Xia Feng suddenly said with a serious expression, “So, Lord Earl, could you elaborate on the benefits of siding with you?”
Seeing that Xia Feng seemed to want to chat idly, as if stalling for time, the Earl guessed that this brat might have reinforcements.
So he stopped wasting words. With a thought…
*Swish*—Xia Feng blinked and looked down. Three arrows had pierced his chest, abdomen, and forehead from behind.
They must have been formed from the purple petals that had fallen earlier while he and the Earl were talking, aiming at him from behind.
!
At such close range, he couldn’t dodge them. However, at the moment of crisis, he did not choose to use any trump cards for defense.
“Brat, being distracted during a battle is a major sin,” the Earl said calmly, walking towards Xia Feng’s corpse with his hands behind his back. He squatted down, preparing to collect the soul.
But after shining his Soul Stone, he found that the corpse surprisingly… had no soul within it? The Earl’s gaze was filled with doubt as he reached out and pressed against the corpse’s forehead. He was absolutely certain that this physical body was real, not an illusion or some elemental clone.
“What’s going on?”
The Earl felt that this brat named Xia was increasingly bizarre. He stood up with a darkened expression and looked around.
“Come out, I know you’re nearby.”
Xia Feng’s current state was peculiar. He had initially thought that after dying by using the Vermilion Bird Demonic Armor’s ability, his soul would instantly depart his body and then reassemble a physical form.
But after actually dying, he discovered it wasn’t like that.
His current perspective was a strange 360-degree view, allowing him to see every part of the room. It was a complete God’s-eye view!
He felt as if he had transformed into the world itself, omnipresent. He was the chairs, tables, scientific instruments, even the dew and the air. His soul was hidden within the world itself.
His current state was akin to the legendary invincible time!
Well, he couldn’t hit others, and others couldn’t hit him invincible time.
[Nirvana State Remaining: 4 seconds]
Unfortunately, this invincible state could only last for fifteen seconds. He would have to choose a respawn point, otherwise, he would be forcibly respawned on the spot.
“Brat, I see you. Come out,” the Earl said with a cold laugh, his face darkened.
See my ass! Xia Feng rolled his eyes, even though he had no eyes now.
It was a pity that he couldn’t reassemble his body within a living being, otherwise, he could have instantly killed the Earl. It was just a bit disgusting.
As he contemplated, time was up.
