Chapter 986. Intensified
Seeing Ke Yanqing’s gentle demeanor, still immersed in the play, Xia Feng was really finding it hard to keep his composure.
He couldn’t quite determine if this woman was part of Hua Shen’s plan, or if she was intentionally dragging him to this place.
With that thought, he shook his head, his eyelids drooping as if weary, and then pushed the wheels of his wheelchair, intending to move himself out of the center of the Cloud Platform.
“Sister Qing, I’m really sleepy. I want to go back to bed.”
“…” Seeing Xia Feng acting recklessly and not obeying her, Ke Yanqing couldn’t help but frown and quickly grabbed Xia Feng’s hands.
“Hmm?” Xia Feng raised his eyes in confusion, startled, appearing somewhat uneasy. “Sister Qing, you…”
“Is there something you’re hiding from me?”
As she spoke, he shook his head again, clutching his forehead with a shifting expression, as if trying to recall something.
Ke Yanqing knew that the curse of the Heart of Lund would transform Xia Feng’s false memories of her being his younger brother into reality, while also automatically rationalizing his identity as a K-Masked person.
However, there were ultimately many bugs. Once he sensed something was wrong, his memories would become chaotic.
Not allowing him even a sliver of time to think, Ke Yanqing grabbed Xia Feng’s wrist and forcibly pressed him back against the wheelchair. She commanded coldly, “Look at me!”
Xia Feng looked up. He now understood that this woman indeed had a mission to prevent him from leaving this place. Was this Cloud Platform a trap, the center of some formation?
“Take off the mask for me!” Ke Yanqing continued coldly, her tone leaving no room for doubt.
“…” Xia Feng’s eyelids twitched almost imperceptibly, but he still dispersed the mask, revealing his true face.
Ke Yanqing had seen photos of Xia Feng. Comparing them with her memory of the K-Masked person, his facial structure perfectly matched.
As their eyes met, Xia Feng frowned and sighed helplessly. “Sister Qing, you… if you want it again…”
With his enemy right before him, Ke Yanqing’s pupils dilated. Her whole body trembled as if struggling with something. Xia Feng simultaneously pushed the wheelchair wheels again. “You can come back with me. Whatever you want to do, I’ll satisfy—Mmph~!”
His thin lips were suddenly sealed. Red lips and a jade nose met him with a soft, fragrant breath, and the young man in the wheelchair leaned his head back.
Ke Yanqing embraced Xia Feng’s neck. A fleeting, imperceptible disdain and hatred flickered in her cool, pretty eyes.
But as Xia Feng’s hands climbed up, her unrestrained caresses were exactly the same as the K-Masked person in her memory. Her whole body began to tremble uncontrollably, shaking like a sieve.
“Qing, Sister Qing, there are still many clan members outside. Is this really okay for us?”
However,
The foolish K-Masked person looked up at her, with respect and fear, and a sudden, uneasy terror at her burgeoning madness. This ridiculous sight of an enemy still in the dark somehow sparked a trace of pleasure in Ke Yanqing’s heart. Her cheeks were burning hotter than ever before.
“Yes, why not!” Her tone was cold, but her voice trembled. “I won’t go back to do it. Sister Qing wants to do it now!”
She lowered her head.
Xia Feng: “…”
“To keep me here in the center of this Cloud Platform, you’ve really gone all out,” Xia Feng thought inwardly.
He had only been seven or eight parts suspicious before, but Ke Yanqing’s madness made Xia Feng completely certain that the formation arranged by the three thousand Golden Sparrow clan members below was 100% targeted at him.
If this guess was correct, then Hua Shen knew from the very beginning and was even watching him…
Just how much did Hua Shen know?
His three disguised identities, Konan, K-Masked person, and Abyssal Saint (Spade Person). Hua Shen definitely knew about the first two long ago.
As for the Abyssal Saint, judging by Hua Shen’s confidence in his ability to resolve the Artifact Calamity, he probably knew about this identity as well.
This was very strange. Xia Feng was puzzled. Very few people knew his specific artifact abilities. Where did this Hua Shen get the information?
Or, did she only know the general idea from somewhere? Was the information incomplete?
As his mind raced, he suddenly realized his pants were… gone.
Xia Feng’s black pupils widened involuntarily. He quickly looked around. The misty Cloud Platform stretched outwards towards the land below, where dense Golden Sparrow clan members lay prostrate. Bizarre and profound incantations buzzed, and magnificent arrays of light shot into the sky.
Somewhere in front of the prostrate clan formation, Corvis lay on the ground. As if sensing something, he looked up, his gaze like lightning fixed on the Cloud Platform, his brow deeply furrowed.
Xia Feng’s legs sank, his pupils rapidly contracting. He turned to meet Ke Yanqing’s eyes, her corners red, filled with a seductive, malevolent flame.
Had this woman… truly gone mad?!
***
On the ink-black land, three thousand Golden Sparrow clan members formed a semi-circular array, with the Cloud Platform directly above the center of the circle.
Besides the central Cloud Platform, another Cloud Platform hovered in the ink-black sky at the missing center of the other half of the arc.
Two figures stood at the edge.
On the right was an old woman draped in a crimson divine robe, her long eyebrows lowered. She was Maid-in-waiting Jin Xiangfeng.
On the left was a black-haired girl in a ochre-red kimono, her hands clasped in front of her abdomen. Her pure white little face was expressionless, her features as delicate as a doll’s. Her chilling, vacant pupils stared unblinkingly at the Cloud Platform where Ke Yanqing was.
This person was Maid-in-waiting Hezi.
“How is it? Has the Blood Corrosion Cage been completed?” the old woman asked, her voice hoarse, tilting her head.
“It is done.”
The kimono-clad girl, like a doll, slowly turned her head, her voice mechanical and hollow. “But to be safe, Maid-in-waiting Ke must continue to form a bond with that person to deepen the connection.”
“Oh dear, poor daddy, to be toyed with like this by you wicked women,” suddenly, a clear, cheerful laugh rang out from behind.
The old woman turned and looked. A blonde woman in a white coat, hands in her pockets, walked slowly out of the mist.
She was tall, with narrow phoenix eyes above her white mask. She smiled slightly, “Right, don’t play my daddy to death, or I’ll fight you to the death.”
Jin Xiangfeng frowned. “He belongs to Maid-in-waiting Ke. After this is over, Maid-in-waiting Ke will surely kill him.”
“Oh, I don’t care about that,” Kikyō Sayame’s phoenix eyes stared calmly at the old woman, her tone indifferent. “This is what our Mother agreed to give me. Hua Shen’s authority to you, and Xia Feng to me.”
Jin Xiangfeng’s frown deepened.
“Alright, human, you don’t need to dwell on it,” Kikyō Sayame said lightly. ” Your Mother probably wants Xia Feng to die without a burial place even more than Ke Yanqing does, but for the sake of unifying the star positions, she can endure more than Ke Yanqing.”
Jin Xiangfeng couldn’t help but be startled. Mother hated Xia Feng so much?
But thinking about it, it made sense. After all, for a mortal like Xia Feng to hold Hua Shen’s authority for so long was an unforgivable offense in itself.
As she spoke, Kikyō Sayame paused and looked up. “Your Mother is looking for me. I’ll take my leave first.”
She had been there for a while before leaving the Cloud Platform. Jin Xiangfeng shook her head. To this day, she still hadn’t figured out the identity of this blonde, masked woman.
“She is related to Calamity,” the strange, doll-like girl said from the side.
“Calamity?” Jin Xiangfeng was stunned again, puzzled. “Isn’t Calamity helping the Burning Heaven Holy Lord against Mother?”
