The fight with Suella was a battle full of points to comment on.
In fact, it was a gathering of rare spirits to the extent that I wondered when they prepared such things.
To be honest, I can confidently say it was tougher than fighting any ordinary strong enemy.
Even so, it can be said that Suella’s safety was secured thanks to that battle.
But that’s not all.
“What do you mean, going on a business trip immediately after being discharged from the hospital?”
“This efficiency is Keiri’s doing.”
I was transferred by Teleportation Magic to the site as soon as I was discharged.
The necessary luggage was already prepared, and everything was fine for work and life.
Suella, in a suit, was smiling wryly next to me as I scratched my head.
I was also in a suit, but the sunshine in Isal was so strong that my outfit felt incredibly out of place.
“First of all, a welcoming party should be here.”
“There’s no one.”
We were sent to the middle of a vast plain by a Teleportation Circle.
Being exposed to the sun in such a wide-open space with no place to hide could lead to heatstroke.
While blocking the sunlight with my hand, I put my Magic Bag, which contained my work tools in a suitcase, into another space and looked around.
“I wouldn’t think Evia would make a mistake with the transfer coordinates.”
“That’s right. In that case, there’s a possibility of external interference.”
The plains stretched as far as I could see. I thought we would be delivered directly to Instructor Kio, but Instructor Kio himself was nowhere to be found.
“There are only a few people who can do something like that. And I don’t want to encounter that possibility.”
“Considering Jiro-san’s luck value, it’s not impossible.”
“For some reason, it goes down instead of up. Is it because I met Suella and the others, and that luck was taken away?”
I thought this was the usual Trouble and recalled what happened before the transfer, but there were no unusual procedures.
There was no accidental magic rampage, and considering the magic power overflowing in this space, it was certain that this was not Earth.
“If that’s the case, it would be strange if our luck values didn’t decrease.”
“Is that so?”
“Yes, after all, I am now the wife of a promising candidate in the Demon Lord’s Army.”
“Ah, I see what you mean.”
There was no danger, but there was nothing else.
I took out a map to check our current location… Hmm?
“Suella, step back a bit.”
“? Yes.”
It seemed Evia hadn’t made a mistake with the destination.
When I gently pushed Suella back with my hand, a few seconds later, I clearly felt magic power, and a giant figure descended from the sky.
“Yo, Jiro! I’ve been waiting!”
“Instructor, can’t you make a more quiet entrance? I almost got crushed.”
I smiled wryly as I spoke to the Ōni who landed right where we were transferred. He, the Ōni King Raidou, Instructor Kio, put his hands on his waist and laughed heartily.
“I didn’t think you’d misread my presence! This is well within the margin of error!”
“That may be so. But you summoned me to a remarkably remote location.”
“Huh? Ah, that’s right. They’re currently using the combined efforts of all the mages to conceal it, so you wouldn’t notice.”
That was a typical response from an instructor.
Well, I had enough time to avoid it, so I was able to respond to the trust this Oni placed in me.
If it were the instructor, he probably could have dodged it in mid-air if it looked like it was going to hit.
However, I still couldn’t understand why I was transferred to such a remote grassland.
“Concealment… Could it be?”
“Yeah! You’ll know if you get a little closer.”
My confusion was resolved by Instructor Kio’s words.
Suella was staring intently at a certain spot, sensing something there.
“It’s not just hiding trees in the forest, you know? There’s no way we’d create something like this in the open. You need that kind of reverse way of thinking.”
As we walked behind the instructor, who started to march forward, we found the boundary of a barrier after walking a certain distance.
“Is this a concealment barrier? But such a precise barrier…”
“Gahaha! Don’t think our clan are all muscleheads. We can do this if we put our minds to it.”
The spell to divert perception, the spell to visually camouflage, all executed at a high level.
The fact that it’s being maintained is proof that a Dungeon is connected beyond this point.
Indeed, who would choose such a conspicuous plain, a land that is easily attacked and difficult to defend?
It’s an act that directly challenges fundamental common sense.
The instructor, who had accomplished this feat, disappeared beyond the barrier with a smile.
“Shall we go?”
“Yes.”
Suella and I exchanged a glance before following him.
“Whoa.”
“This is amazing.”
“Right? Right?”
And beyond the barrier was a town that had progressed to the point where it could already be called a town.
A base with forts placed on all four sides, where goblins, orcs, and ogres, among other Oni, were actively engaged in construction.
As Suella and I were genuinely surprised, the instructor’s smile, pleased, grew more intense.
“This land was originally coveted by every country, but it was left unattended because it would cause wars between neighboring countries. So, I consolidated it by force, and now we’re building a central city here. This will eventually become a great city connecting us, the Demon Lord’s Army, and this world!”
I was more surprised by those words coming from the instructor, who only thought about fighting, but I kept it to myself, fearing a fist might fly if I questioned him.
“However, while we can build a city, we have little know-how for maintaining it. That’s where I’ll need your help.”
“And we can also work on strengthening cooperation between countries, right?”
“That’s right. Jiro, I’ll be counting on you for that. And Miss Suella, I’ll have you handle the administrative work.”
I had a feeling I would be assigned various tasks from the beginning, so that wasn’t a problem.
Just seeing the cityscape being built like this naturally increases my motivation, knowing that preparations for the end of the war are progressing.
“Understood.”
“Yes, I will do my best.”
“Alright, I’ll guide you to your workplace. Come on.”
Thinking back on it, I had never done anything like city building before.
I often negotiate recently, but the know-how is different when dealing with countries in another world.
I need to be focused on this.
With that thought, I followed the instructor, looking at the town under construction, and was guided to our workplace.
“I thought the instructor didn’t need to come all the way to pick us up, but Instructor…”
“At first, I thought you left work to meet Jiro-san, but Oni King…”
Seeing the room, I felt like I wanted to escape reality for a moment.
Instead, I glared at the instructor.
Suella, standing beside me, must have had the same expression.
“Can’t be helped! There aren’t that many talented civil officials we can bring here. There’s also the Territory management, right?”
“Don’t be so defiant. Besides, didn’t we have goblins who could do administrative work?”
“Do you think such convenient ones are readily available? Even so, they’ve reduced the amount!”
“Reduced it to this? Haa, this looks like it’s going to be quite a challenge. Jiro-san, it seems we need to get started right away.”
“Ah, the fortunate thing is that the documents are already sorted by category. That’s a relief.”
This Oni, while capable, was a man who openly declared what he disliked, just like his appearance and personality.
He was probably doing it irritably on a daily basis, but he must have been holding back until he knew we were coming.
The amount of documents prepared for our seats was extraordinary.
“Will we finish this by today?”
“If it’s me and Jiro-san, we will.”
“Well, it’s less than what we usually handle.”
Thinking about how bad he must be at administrative work, I and Suella took our seats.
Suella put on her work glasses.
“It’s been a while since I’ve seen you in that getup.”
“Really? I wear them often these days, so I don’t feel that way.”
“That means I haven’t been seeing you. Too bad.”
I rotated my shoulders, loosened my body, and first cleared a space on the table to place the documents.
“Will you finish?”
“My prediction is that we’ll manage to finish by sunset.”
“First, we’ll need to skim through them.”
This is strange. I thought I was brought here as a combatant, but my first job is paperwork.
Well, it’s better than fighting, so I started to look through the documents with practiced ease.
Come to think of it, this is the first time I’ve worked with the instructor.

“Jiro-san, please confirm these documents here.”
“Understood. Is there any related material for these documents?”
“It’s here. Please compile the approval documents here. They will be approved after the Oni King reviews them.”

Using my magic to its full extent, I went through the documents and, after sorting them into necessary categories, finished them all at once.
I wish I had a PC, but unfortunately, there is no lifeline here to use the convenient tool of electricity.

I activated multiple levitation spells, floated a ballpoint pen in the air, and signed and stamped.
Suella is better at precise magic like that, so she signs more documents than me.
I’m making up for it with speed.

“Yes, what is it?”
“Are you always like this?”

Without stopping my work, I answered the instructor’s question as a pile of documents was cleared.
“However, it’s good that most of the cases are simpler than I expected. At this rate, it looks like we’ll finish sooner than I thought.”
“Yes. The fact that there’s a certain degree of discipline makes the problematic parts easier to identify, which is a great help. Ah, Jiro-san, can you process these documents along with the materials you have over there?”
“Got it. The ones next to them are also related, so I’ll process them here.”
“Thanks. In that case, I’ll take that pile over there too.”
It seems like he’s in a daze, but what’s wrong?
“Is there a problem?”
“No, there isn’t. Ah.”
It’s the first time I’ve seen the instructor make that kind of face.
Well, if there’s no problem, that’s good.
This analog document processing method needs a lot of improvement.
“There seems to be plenty of sunlight, so Suella, shall I request the installation of solar panels?”

It’s quite fun.
At least it’s more enjoyable than working overtime.

I got the instructor’s permission.
