Chapter 165: Yun Xi’s Little Thoughts
“Little sister, this really isn’t something you can understand,” Laura said amusingly, watching Yun Xi, who was younger than Su Jiu, walk over.
Although she was happy to be rescued, she had become a bit dejected when she saw that Su Jiu couldn’t figure it out. However, that didn’t mean she thought a loli like Yun Xi could do anything.
Seeing Yun Xi’s confident expression, Su Jiu was slightly startled. She felt she had underestimated the girl. She had thought Yun Xi was only slightly unusual, but knowing more than a Viscount-level Blood Clan member was a big deal. If not for the fact that the Blood Clan didn’t have the concept of a princess, she would have suspected Yun Xi was a runaway princess from some royal family.
Su Jiu truly believed Yun Xi could handle it!
Yun Xi walked towards the control panel in the center, glanced at the text on it, and her brow unfurrowed. She began to manipulate it with her small hands, tapping it rhythmically.
Laura and the others watched with curiosity, wondering what the little tail Su Jiu brought with her could do. But honestly, after seeing Su Jiu fail, they weren’t holding out much hope. They figured they would have to go back to the family, get an alchemical device capable of withstanding a Battle King, and come back later.
“Dong dong…” Rhythmic tapping sounds continuously emanated from the control panel.
As minutes ticked by, Yun Xi hummed a tune, her hands moving faster and faster, like playing a piano. This made Laura and the other man even more confused.
While they were lost in thought, there was a sudden “Huala—” sound. The blue lights on the walls suddenly dissipated, and then all the openings were blocked by the walls.
Under their gaze, Yun Xi walked forward with great confidence. As expected, the openings did not cause her any harm. She walked along a row of alchemical artifacts, gently touching them with her small hands, producing metallic tapping sounds.
“Ding ding…”
Laura watched nervously as Yun Xi slowly reached the end. She took three steps forward, and the floor suddenly caved in. She missed her footing and quickly retracted her leg, cold sweat breaking out on her face.
Looking at the empty floor, she could only force a dry laugh and turn to Su Jiu, “Miss Su Jiu, is this formation completely dispelled?”
The third to last was the Initial Embrace of Life. That girl was also a Blood Clan member, wouldn’t she have some kind of reaction? What if she used it inside? What should they do then?
Su Jiu shook her head; she didn’t understand either. She decided to just watch quietly.
“This woman is quite annoying…”
At the fourth to last artifact, Yun Xi looked back and saw Laura looking very nervous. Wanting to tease her, she placed her finger on the third artifact, then used both hands, looking as if she were about to open it.
This completely stunned Laura. Her heart leaped into her throat, and she was about to rush in. But at the next moment, Yun Xi pouted and whispered, “Boring… Servants are more interesting.”
Then, she picked up the fourth alchemical artifact and walked back. She walked straight through the formation without triggering any mechanisms. She waved to Su Jiu and the others and said, “Just follow the path I took. The other places were originally empty, so it’s normal for them to collapse.”
She then went behind Su Jiu, waved the alchemical artifact in her hand at Laura, and smiled. She asked very seriously, “It’s not too much for me to take one after helping you solve this mystery, is it?”
Laura was taken aback and didn’t answer immediately. Instead, she followed Yun Xi’s method. She first pretended to open the first alchemical artifact – a pair of rotten socks, which seemed to be a War General level alchemical artifact.
Then came the second, third… Trousers, love letters, all sorts of strange things.
It wasn’t until the very last one that there was a worn-out crown, appearing to be a Battle King level item, but it was completely unusable.
She then took the third alchemical artifact and the crown and went out, waving to Yun Xi, “If you like playing, you can have it.”
After that, she opened the third artifact herself and saw a small tube of Black Blood slowly appearing inside. Without a second thought, Laura drank it.
In an instant, veins bulged on her face, and she could clearly feel every cell in her body contracting and expanding wildly. She had directly broken through the rank of War General, and a feeling of contempt for her surroundings surged into her heart.
The Bald Youth clicked his tongue and lamented, “Laura… so strong! Is this the ancient Marquis’s Initial Embrace of Life? It actually allowed her to break through the War General level!”
Even Lucica, who had been like an invisible person, was surprised. She looked at the Bald Youth and said, “Marquis level Initial Embrace of Life? Even if preserving it in an alchemical artifact reduces its potency, it still has the bloodline of at least an Earl.”
At this moment, Laura scratched her hand and looked at Lucica, who was leaning against the wall. A look of disdain appeared in her eyes. Thinking of subduing Su Jiu and the other girl, she looked at them with pride in her eyes.
“Do you want to pledge your allegiance to me…”
A moment later, she realized that Su Jiu and the other girl completely ignored her. They were acting as if they were on their honeymoon, teasing each other.
Her breath hitched. But what truly made her breath falter was that the moment her bloodline level increased, she turned her head to look at Su Jiu and Yun Xi and suddenly felt an uncontrollable urge to tremble rising from her bloodline. This feeling was like—
encountering something much older.
Su Jiu took the box from Yun Xi, patted her head, and smiled, “Silly Little Xi, why didn’t you keep it for yourself? This is something you earned.”
Su Jiu didn’t know what was inside, but she felt an extraordinary sense of satisfaction.
Yun Xi chuckled, stood on tiptoe, and leaned close to Su Jiu’s ear, whispering, “Because I like Sister Jiu.”
Hearing this, Su Jiu smiled helplessly, flicked her small nose, took the alchemical item, and slowly opened it. She found a bloody pill that emitted a faint fragrance.
While Su Jiu was still wondering what it was, Yun Xi suddenly raised her hand and “slapped” it directly into her throat. The bitter taste instantly melted in her mouth, somewhat like Blood Night Grass, but a hundred times more potent.
“Urk urk…”
Su Jiu’s eyes widened abruptly. She pointed to her throat and looked at Yun Xi’s cute, tilted-head expression. A thought quietly sprouted in her mind: this little padded jacket is leaking!
But soon, Su Jiu discovered that her mental power was growing wildly!
After the pill completely melted, Su Jiu’s mental power directly surpassed that of a High-Rank Battle General, reaching the half-step Battle King level. If she cultivated further, her mental power could even reach the Battle King level in advance.
Moreover, she now seemed to be able to contract another demon below her level. Because E Huo usually slept on her wrist, her spiritual space had a large empty spot.
Su Jiu seemed to understand Yun Xi’s meaning a little and thought to herself: As expected, the little padded jacket is not leaking!
She then patted her head and took out the red Red Fruit from her pocket, handing it over and saying softly, “Eat it, a gift for you.”
She had originally intended this for Dou Bi, but upon second thought, Dou Bi wouldn’t need it. It was a small favor to leave it with her.
“Red Fruit? Sister Jiu, you keep it yourself!”
Yun Xi took the fruit, paused for a moment, and then immediately shook her head, trying to push it back to Su Jiu. But at the next moment, Su Jiu, mimicking her previous action, directly stuffed it into her small mouth.
Regardless of her muffled protests echoing in the basement, Su Jiu refused to let go. She said softly,
“Eat it all. If you dare spit it out, you won’t sit for the rest of the night!”
…
On a certain beach, two exquisite bronze coffins were dragged ashore by ten sailors. Above the coffins, two connected blood-red butterfly patterns were revealed.
“These coffins are made of Xuan Nan Wood and ancient Ming Tong wood! Back then, I threw all my assets into them. Why is only the elder one showing signs of revival?”
“Forget it, one is enough!”
A nobleman who looked quite old was looking down from above, his eyes filled with ferocity.
