Chapter 310: A Daughter’s Growth at Home (Part 2)
“No, you stay here. This kind of crisis handling is something for us Dragon Hunters. You know, we’ll be facing real demons, not those alchemical puppets from training matches.”
After re-examining Su Jiu, the tall class leader immediately refused. It was clear that Su Jiu’s appearance made him preconceived to believe she was a cute girl. Even if her rank was high, her practical combat ability, judging from her appearance, seemed unlikely to meet the qualified standard.
Despite being refused, Su Jiu still stood up, waved her hand, and said with a smile, “It’s okay, I’ll just watch by the train door. I won’t affect your performance.”
“Besides, I’m a Priest. If you encounter irreversible danger, I can save you.”
After a slight pause, Su Jiu slowly raised two fingers, and a touch of emerald green appeared on her fingertips. The radiance of life illuminated the entire compartment, warm and peaceful. Her small face showed a benevolent smile. Of course, if one were to ignore the small blood-red flower by the outer edge of her left pupil, it would be the image of a compassionate Priest.
“Such strong radiant power, her bloodline and strength must be formidable.”
“After all, she’s a top student from Magic City. There are no bad universities in Magic City. But is this life force too abundant? Can a newly promoted Battle General Priest really have this kind of strength?”
“Who cares? Since this student has Battle General Level Strength, there’s no big problem with her accompanying us.”
Su Jiu’s display of Priestly radiance directly awed the others. It was clear that the intensity of her power had reached the Battle General level. Just a hint of it was enough to make the space feel warm, making everyone realize that her strength was undoubtedly extraordinary.
“But…”
The tall class leader’s thick eyebrows furrowed slightly, his expression rather serious. Just as he was about to say something, the girl named Ah Hua called out to him, softly saying, “Class leader, we are indeed short of a Priest. If this classmate joins us, it will be convenient to handle any injuries.”
“Alright, but we must ensure her safety. After all, this is the wilderness, and those demons are all bullies… I’ll go and declare our identities to the train conductor and understand the current situation first. You guys go ahead.”
Seeing Ah Hua put it that way, the tall class leader shook his head helplessly, sighed, and walked out of the aisle first, leaving the stunned group behind.
Retracting his gaze, the boy with black-rimmed glasses on the right adjusted his glasses and looked out the window at the small black shadows flashing by. He then turned around, waved his hand, and said softly, “Let’s go.”
“Okay!” A few scattered responses sounded, and they followed behind the boy. Su Jiu walked at the back of the group. As they passed through the corridor, she could see many passengers peeking out, their faces showing fear to varying degrees.
She shook her head slightly and lowered her hand from her forehead. She had just used her mental power to survey the outside again, confirming that there were no major monsters nearby, but it was possible they had temporarily left.
However, it was true that it wasn’t her turn to act. The strongest demon in the vicinity was only at the Initial Stage Battle General level.
Seeing Su Jiu walking a bit slowly, Ah Hua also slowed down, walking beside her and asking playfully, “Walking so slowly, are you scared? If you’re scared, you can go back early.”
“Scared? Not really… I was just thinking about some things.” Su Jiu glanced at her, smiled, and then quickened her pace. When she reached a transparent window corridor, she casually glanced out and saw many people helping. It was likely that the situation would be resolved very soon.
Stepping out of the train car, sandstorms kept rising, and a howling sound circled in the sky. A gust of sand swept across her feet and flew into the distance. Su Jiu looked up at the barren high mountains in the distance. She hadn’t noticed it before, but they had arrived at some plateau.
After getting off the train, Su Jiu’s gaze was immediately drawn to the massive Earth Dragon’s corpse. It was as large as a mountain, covered in green shield armor. However, at its short, thick neck, there was a deep, gaping bite wound.
The humans beneath it looked like ants, appearing quite small. It was almost unbelievable to guess how mighty it must have been in its life.
“This should be a Half-King Level Earth Dragon. Such strong defense was ended by another monster in one strike, its Magic Crystal hollowed out. That other monster must be at the Battle King Level… So, was this Earth Dragon intentionally…?”
Her eyes narrowed slightly, and Su Jiu noticed a large empty hole in the Earth Dragon’s skull. It was clear that its Magic Crystal had been removed. After a moment of contemplation, she began to use the Priest’s skills in a proper manner, emitting the Spring Bloom Technique towards the injured.
Leaves with a slight blood-red sheen descended from the sky, covering an exceptionally wide area, nearly twice that of an ordinary Middle Stage Battle General. Of course, this was not very noticeable in the night, and everyone assumed it was caused by the wind.
Su Jiu’s every move appeared like an angel to the wounded. Gazes of gratitude were cast upon her. Even the tall class leader was not far away, looking surprised and scratching his head, he said with emotion, “I didn’t expect your movements to be so skilled. You must have experienced demon wars before, right?”
Su Jiu’s movements were too seasoned, and she didn’t show the fear that students typically had towards strange monsters.
Su Jiu clearly hadn’t expected her basic actions to be so heavily interpreted. She blinked and casually replied, “I have indeed experienced some battles.”
However, it wasn’t as a Priest, but as a Warrior, facing powerful Blood Clan demons head-on.
Another gust of wind blew in, seemingly bringing in more shadowy figures, but this time they were all carrion-eating monsters. Besides licking the wounds of the previous monsters, they did not actively attack the humans, merely circling in the sky.
However, since strong winds were blowing in, it indicated a significant breach. Su Jiu quickly discovered the source of those restless shadows. She tilted her head slightly, squinting her eyes, and looked up at the sky. White currents crackled with a “sizzling” sound, and a large void appeared directly above the Earth Dragon.
It wasn’t hard to figure out that this massive Earth Dragon had been smashed down from the sky by a monster capable of flight. As for why its corpse was used to smash, that was intriguing.
Perhaps it was accidental, or perhaps…
A probe.
Soon, the harassing monsters were mostly dealt with. The tall class leader stood with a middle-aged man wearing a formal train uniform, his gaze returning to the Earth Dragon’s corpse with a solemn expression.
“One, two, three, lift!”
“One, two, three, lift!”
Following their gaze, six Initial Stage Battle Generals approached the Earth Dragon and bent down, gripping its underside fiercely. External Qi surged as veins bulged on their foreheads.
However, the Earth Dragon only shifted its body slightly. Clearly, they couldn’t move it at all. Its muscle density was terrifyingly high, and the railway tracks beneath it were damaged and bent. To properly move it, the dragon’s corpse had to be moved first.
A young man wearing a train attendant’s uniform left the dragon’s corpse and trotted over to the middle-aged man in the formal attire, shaking his head helplessly and saying, “Train conductor, we can’t move this thing at all. It has some dragon bloodline within its body, and coupled with its own armor, none of us can move it.”
The tall class leader and the train conductor exchanged glances, their eyes fixed on the mountain-like Earth Dragon corpse. The class leader frowned and asked in a low voice, “Can’t we use skills to cut off its upper body and then move it?”
The young train attendant shook his head and said with a wry smile, “Even as a corpse, the Earth Dragon’s defense is not something we can penetrate. We can only carry it away like this.”
“This…” The attendant’s words immediately left the two of them at a loss. If even six people couldn’t lift the Earth Dragon’s corpse, their addition would be of no use either.
“Little girl, get away from here. We’re going to move the Earth Dragon’s corpse. If you get hit, it won’t be a joke.”
Just as the two were contemplating other solutions, a sharp scolding voice suddenly rang out, sounding somewhat out of breath.
Their gazes were drawn over, and they saw Su Jiu walking leisurely, an unexplainable aura surging around her. The air seemed to condense, and some dust formed a small whirlwind. As she stopped beside another middle-aged train attendant, the dust quietly dispersed.
The tall class leader raised an eyebrow. He couldn’t quite understand what the Priest girl from his compartment was planning. If she intended to cast a buff, there was no need to be so close, was there?
“Let me do it. The train needs to leave here as soon as possible. We can’t delay any further.”
Soon, Su Jiu tilted her head slightly and spoke. However, her words stunned the attendant who had just admonished her.
The attendant clearly did not expect this Priest girl, with what she perceived as a support bloodline, to be so arrogant as to think she could lift such a massive dragon corpse.
“Miss Priest, this kind of rough work should be left to them, right?”
“Exactly. Give us some buffs, and we’ll move it.”
Su Jiu’s voice naturally attracted many people’s attention. Those present had all been treated by Su Jiu to varying degrees, so they didn’t speak mockingly. They just found this girl in Hanfu somewhat inexplicably endearing.
The girl named Ah Hua realized that Su Jiu had slipped away to the dragon’s corpse without her noticing and had even gotten into an argument with the staff. She was briefly speechless and quickly stepped forward, saying to Su Jiu, “Hurry and come with us. This isn’t something a Priest should be doing.”
“Lift…”
Shaking her head, Su Jiu ignored the attendant and then clasped the Earth Dragon’s lower scales with both hands like eagle claws. Her eyes narrowed slightly, and the ground beneath her feet sank, revealing spiderweb-like cracks.
“We with combat bloodlines couldn’t even move it, little girl, you… Holy crap!”
Su Jiu’s actions immediately amused and angered the attendant. Just as he was about to mock her, his pupils suddenly widened, as if his eyes were about to pop out.
“Rumble…”
Yellow dust and smoke began to billow. The Earth Dragon’s corpse, which the six Battle General level strongmen couldn’t move, was slightly lifted by two fair hands. As the dragon’s corpse slowly rose, they could even faintly see the alchemized railway tracks that had been pressed and indented.
At this moment, not only the attendant but everyone else looked as if they had seen a ghost. They glanced at Su Jiu’s slender arms, then at their own muscular arms, and began to doubt life itself.
A daughter’s growth at home, strength to uproot mountains and a spirit to overpower the world?
