Chapter Forty-Two Escape (2/2)
“Scram!” a crisp voice called out.
Feeling the immense strength in her arm, Su Jiu struggled to maintain her balance. The veins on the back of her fair hand bulged slightly. With all her might, she swung, unleashing the Feather Slash just before her opponent could spew purple flames.
The feather, carrying black flames, shot out like a boomerang. The impact sent Su Jiu spinning and tumbling through the air, a wave of nausea washing over her.
“Damn! I’m gonna puke rainbows!”
Swallowing back the rising bile, she fought against the discomfort and flapped her wings, diving towards the forest by the river below. Within moments, she reached the height of the treetops, her wings snapping countless branches.
The Giant Lion, seeing the black feather fly towards it, looked disdainful and made no move to dodge. Instead, it let out a fierce breath of purple flame towards Su Jiu’s retreating figure. The intense heat instantly melted the leaves in its path.
At this moment, both attacks missed each other. Su Jiu’s feather, imbued with great force, slammed heavily onto the Giant Lion’s Energy Shield first. The Giant Lion’s face contorted with disbelief. How could this human, seemingly only a Warrior Class, shatter its Energy Shield?
