Chapter 820: The So-called Executioner (3k)
Beside the Moon Sunken Sea, several makeshift tents were set up, bearing the logos of various organizations. Outside, a group of fully armed soldiers stood guard.
“Don’t even think about entering Aers, it’s very dangerous there. Indiscriminate slaughter doesn’t care about your identity.”
Inside the main tent, a deep voice echoed. Under the light, a bald young man with slightly gleaming hair, dressed in a suit, could be seen.
“Mr. Ryan…”
Seemingly sensing that the young man’s words were a bit off, a white officer with a three-V insignia beside him coughed lightly, signaling him to stop.
“You know there will be indiscriminate slaughter, so why are you choosing to help Yela?”
Facing them was a woman dressed as a chef. She glared at Ryan with furious eyes, as if to accuse him of aiding and abetting evil.
Ryan scratched his bald head and pondered for a moment. He didn’t flinch from her gaze, instead smiling and saying,
“Madam, this is an order. We can only execute orders. We are loyal to our country.”
There was a hint of helplessness in Ryan’s smile.
In the outside world, he was Saint Fist Ryan, but in reality, he was an executive of AIC, bound to obey the orders of his country.
“Loyal to the country? Is being loyal to the country supporting invaders in indiscriminate slaughter?”
The female chef stood up, speaking English rapidly, almost too fast to follow. She grabbed Ryan’s tie, her eyes burning with intense anger,
“I am also from Eagle Country. Tell me, why is our country supporting an executioner?!”
“Madam, you need to calm down…”
“Arrest them first.”
Ryan gestured for her to be quiet, but was quickly interrupted by the officer beside him. With a wave of his hand, the guards on both sides of the tent crowded in.
The female chef was apprehended with little resistance and taken outside. As she passed Ryan, she glared at him and cursed,
“You are an executioner just like them! Damn bastard!”
Ryan remained silent. The officer frowned, about to say something, but Ryan pulled him back.
Her companions were also successively apprehended and taken away by the soldiers. Soon, only Ryan and the officer were left.
The officer looked at the bald executive with confusion,
“Mr. Ryan, the superiors only sent us to supervise the involvement of other countries. They didn’t prohibit these international organizations from coming. Why did you go out of your way to arrest them…”
“Clack!”
Ryan glanced at him, pulled out a large cigar from his pocket, flicked his fingers to create a flame, and took a gentle puff, exhaling,
“Some people shouldn’t die at the hands of beasts. Living is at least more valuable than a glorious sacrifice…”
The officer was stunned, then smiled and extended his clean hand,
“Give me one.”
…
As night deepened, moonlight lazily cast its glow upon the land. Suddenly, a whistling sound echoed from afar. Moments later, as the sound grew closer, three Qian Cheng shadows emitting white light were rapidly approaching.
The sound of air displacement replaced the peaceful night.
On the leading Qian Cheng, a white doctor’s long coat fluttered. The young girl sat cross-legged, dragon horns just beginning to appear. Petals floating around her protected her from the air current’s impact. She, meanwhile, was focused on a bead held in her mouth, concentrating on compressing her domain.
Exhaling a cold breath, the dragon girl’s eyebrows twitched, and she slowly opened her eyes. She first pocketed the Magic Crystal, which had shrunk to the size of a fingernail…
“Your aura is becoming more condensed, and it feels like you’re breaking away from the ordinary Battle King level and subtly approaching Demigod level, but you haven’t condensed water element laws. It’s very strange.”
Behind her, Bai Zhi’s voice sounded with a hint of curiosity.
“Didn’t you forget? I have three bloodlines. My Blood Clan bloodline has reached the pinnacle of High-Rank Battle King. The Blood Clan carries special laws, but they can only be used at night.”
Upon hearing this, Su Jiu turned to look behind her, finding the Little Flower Fairy scrutinizing her. The fairy held a thick book in her hands— “A Record of Modern Plant Growth”—and was scribbling with a watercolor pen, looking much like a high school deskmate.
“Oh, right, your bloodline is indeed mixed. I don’t know how you managed it. A normal person would have exploded long ago if they were like you.”
Making notes with her watercolor pen, Bai Zhi chatted intermittently. After a slight pause, she glanced below again,
“We’re about to reach Moon Sunken Sea. Should we still take the airway?”
“We need to go down and meet with the Red Cross.”
Su Jiu smiled. Her tail gave a slight flick, and in the light, a ghastly grimace, like that of a mischievous imp, could be seen at its root, clearly the work of some Little Flower Fairy.
With a slight movement, she turned around and stared at the book in Bai Zhi’s hands. Her blood-red vertical pupils blinked, and she softly asked,
“I remember you mentioning last time that you wanted to join a research institute in the US. What exactly can only be accessed with research institute clearance?”
“A special garden formed by strange laws. If I plant a mark of my own inside it within this year, I can truly achieve rebirth.”
Bai Zhi slowly closed the book, a rare look of yearning appearing on her small face. Her pale green eyes were like luminous and beautiful cat’s-eye stones.
“Garden?”
Su Jiu was taken aback. Her mind couldn’t help but conjure the place where the Blood King resided, but she quickly dismissed it…
As Bai Zhi put away the book, she smiled and continued to explain,
“Actually, it’s not necessarily the garden. The memory from the skill is for me to find a place that can subvert the laws of this world and plant my own source of power there.”
“And the garden in the US is the most famous. I heard it was built by a vice president of the Royal Research Institute, and it’s where heroes who died in the Otherworldly War are buried, with the intention of allowing them to rest in peace.”
Su Jiu listened quietly to the story. She had some impression of this Royal Research Institute, as in the Old Man’s stories, he had encountered a beautiful girl from the US Royal Research Institute.
That girl had awed the young Old Man…
Bai Zhi’s voice continued,
“But things didn’t go as planned. The killing intent of those heroes did not diminish, and their own strength was formidable, directly disrupting the laws, turning this martyr’s graveyard into a forbidden zone of laws. If one accidentally triggers the restrictions, one could easily die.”
She paused slightly and looked below, noticing the flashing of distant lights. She pointed at the ground,
“Mr. Li told me that because of the presence of that vice president, the research institute knows a shortcut to the depths—We’re here!”
“When you go, call me.”
Su Jiu nodded slightly, dispelled her Dragon Girl avatar, patted the front Qian Cheng’s head, and flicked a bit of flame towards the sky with her finger.
“Boom!” With a sound, the three Qian Cheng let out a “whoosh—” long cry, understanding Su Jiu’s intent. They flapped their thick wings and began descending.
“I can’t call you. I told you, it’s the rules. That place could even directly erase a High-Rank War God.”
Due to inertia, Bai Zhi fell directly onto Su Jiu, hugging her waist. She spoke into Su Jiu’s pointed ear, her voice suppressed by the wind with external Qi, sounding somewhat helpless.
Ignoring Bai Zhi’s words, Su Jiu’s gaze fell upon the five ships docked below, her eyes narrowing slightly…
“Warships?”
Those were not civilian ships. The lights shone on their steel bodies, reflecting a metallic sheen. At the front of each ship were three large-caliber Magic Crystal main cannons, aimed directly at the shore.
Before the three Qian Cheng had fully landed, a beam of light shone from the warships towards them. Three seconds later, a broadcast in standard international English commanded,
“Moon Sunken Sea ahead is under military exercise. Do not approach unless absolutely necessary!”
Then, the soldiers below swarmed like ants towards the descending Qian Cheng, accompanied by another warning:
“Repeating the announcement, Moon Sunken Sea ahead…”
Big Cousin Su Ze’s voice sounded from the side. He stood on the back of a Qian Cheng, his expression somewhat solemn,
“Cousin, there’s a Bald Eagle insignia on ships. These are warships from Eagle Country. They are determined to prevent outsiders from entering.”
“I’ll go talk to their leader and explain our purpose. Although Eagle Country and our country have been at odds these years, regarding the evacuation of our citizens, it shouldn’t be too difficult.”
Su Jiu replied, but then gently pressed the Qian Cheng’s body, took a step in the air, and plunged directly towards an open space on the ground. Her speed was exceptionally fast, leaving only a white blur.
“Boom!”
A second later, a loud explosion echoed from below. The air blast from “Su Bomb’s” landing directly repelled the surrounding Eagle Country soldiers.
“Good thing I didn’t land face first…”
The Blood Clan Girl got up, touching her head, and couldn’t help but grimace— her body had improved so much that her head hit first…
The aura emanating from her, which was close to Demigod level, made many soldiers dare not move, their faces even showing fear. They could only shout into their walkie-talkies,
“Officer, we have a problem here. Someone is trying to break through the checkpoint!”
Hearing this, Su Jiu couldn’t help but twitch the corner of her mouth. It seemed she had used too much force and accidentally made these soldiers think she was an enemy…
“Rocket Headbutt” isn’t actually a move name.
She waved her hand, shouting loudly in broken Chinese-accented English, “I’m not trying to break through the checkpoint, I’m not trying to break through the checkpoint, I want to talk to your officer…”
The soldiers listened for a moment, seeming to understand her meaning, and did not raise their weapons. At this moment, their officer, with a cigar in his mouth, hurried to Su Jiu.
“A half-demon with a Dragon Country face?”
He looked Su Jiu up and down, then quickly noticed her doctor’s uniform and armband. He frowned slightly,
“No one is allowed to enter Moon Sunken Sea right now!”
“We are here to pick up people. We have our citizens inside Aers.”
Sensing that the other party was not unreasonable, Su Jiu spoke again. She took out a black card she had prepared during a previous trip from her pocket and handed it over: “There’s about a million USD in this card.”
“I said no…”
The officer glanced at the black card and swallowed. This wasn’t a small bribe, but a significant fortune. However, Ryan’s words echoed in his ears.
Suddenly, his eyes flickered, and Ryan’s bald head appeared before him. Ryan took the black card directly, and his deep voice sounded,
“If you’re picking someone up, be quick and return soon.”
“Okay.”
Su Jiu looked at the familiar face before her, stunned. She didn’t say much, nodded gently, and got back on the Qian Cheng…
Watching the three figures, the officer asked, confused, “Why did Mr. Ryan let her pass alone?”
Ryan glanced at him, silently pocketed the card, took another puff of his cigar, and watched the receding figures, saying leisurely,
“She’s no good either. Her identity is the same as mine—an executioner.”
