Side: Mako
Someone, please explain this situation to me.
No, I’m being explained, but I just can’t keep up with the understanding.
Is this another world called Helios Orb?
Are there not only humans but also beastmen, dragon people, and elves?
Are there many convenient magic spells?
If you can evolve, you won’t age?
And I have already evolved?
I don’t understand any of it!
I know about stories and games talking about other worlds, and I even played one with Maoh, but I never imagined I’d come to another world myself.
But I really have come to this so-called other world, and since it’s not the typical hero summoning or a god’s intervention, returning to Earth is hopeless.
No, even if there were a way, it might be better to say it’s impossible for me.
The reason for this is a boy who came from the same world as me.
“So, Asuka-kun, you’ve become one of the Seven Imperial Masters and travel the world?”
“Not that frequently, but a few times a year.”
This boy’s name is Yamato Mikami… now Yamato Hydrangea Mikami, wasn’t it?
Surprisingly, this boy is the son of my close friends, and he’s the second son and youngest of three brothers, a frankly incomprehensible existence.
The time on Earth has already passed more than 20 years since I was sent to Helios Orb.
So, I’ve surely been processed as missing or deceased by now.
I was a generator with a title, so I think the police must have searched quite a bit, but I myself was having such an absurd experience of world-hopping, so no matter how much they searched, they wouldn’t find me.
What’s even more headache-inducing is that Yamato-kun apparently came to Helios Orb about four months ago, but he’s already married and has five wives and four fiancées.
Helios Orb has an overwhelming female majority and a low birth rate, so polygamy is the norm even among civilians, and some women even have children without marrying.
It’s unthinkable on Earth, but Sayuri-sama also told me that customs differ in different worlds, and she herself hesitated when she got married.
Sayuri-sama is said to be from the time of the Third World War, but she married the king of a kingdom called Amister, so she’s considered a former queen.
Her appearance can easily pass for someone in her 20s, but her actual age is a surprising 107 years old.
It seems that in Helios Orb, humans also evolve as they gain levels, and Sayuri-sama evolved into a High Human, while Yamato-kun evolved into the even higher Ancient Human.
I myself was also a High Human, but Yamato-kun said it might be due to my training and practical experience as an Engraver.
I couldn’t refute it because I had too many connections.
“For now, I understand. Honestly, my head is spinning, and I have no idea what to do, but I do understand that I was lucky.”
After hearing the whole story, I came to this conclusion.
Both Yamato-kun and Sayuri-sama belong to a country called Amister, but their closest ally, Torencia, is being invaded by the hegemonic nation of Solemne. Yamato-kun and Prim, a fox-type beastman, Foxy, had just annihilated the fleet that was dispatched.
I was taken aback by the mention of fleet annihilation, but upon hearing the story, it seems that Steam Battleships have been put into practical use.
However, Helios Orb has the concept of evolution, and it’s common sense that quality overcomes quantity. Before Yamato-kun and Prim, who had evolved to the Ancient Class, even iron Steam Battleships weren’t much of a fighting force, and they were easily annihilated.
It was an understandable thought that it was due to their bloodline, but it seems I was transferred to the battlefield’s aftermath.
It was a coincidence that Yamato-kun and the others passed through here, and it was also a coincidence that they annihilated the fleet of the Solemne nation. If even one cog hadn’t meshed, I might have been captured by the Solemne nation and spent my life as a slave.
The Solemne Empire, which aims for the unification of the Philia Continent, believes that anything goes to win, and looting conquered cities is commonplace. If I had been transferred in front of the warships of such a nation, there’s no need to think about what would have happened.
I can only say that I was truly lucky.
“Now then, about what happens next, as I explained earlier, we are heading to a country called Torencia. We are delivering the Queen there, but we also have another purpose now.”
As Yamato-kun said this, the woman sitting next to him, a High Vampire, had a troubled expression.
She seems to be the Queen of Torencia, and the original plan was for Yamato-kun and her escorts to handle the transportation, so her reaction is understandable, and it’s natural to have a new purpose after hearing the story.
“If it’s not a bother, I might accompany you. I haven’t fully processed my emotions yet, but I’d like to see the cityscape of this other world.”
This is also my honest feeling.
Even if there were a way to return to my original world, I don’t know if it would bring me happiness.
No, even though there’s family and friends, albeit separated by years, I’m afraid of how they might react.
Besides, the method of returning to Earth is something guests who came before us spent decades searching for and still couldn’t find, so I feel like I have no choice but to give up.
If there was a god or hero summoning involved, there might have been a chance of returning, but my arrival in this world was almost an accident.
However, I can’t simply make up my mind to live in another world.
So, to help me sort out my feelings and distract myself, I want to learn about what kind of world Helios Orb is.
“I don’t mind, but what about everyone else?”
“We can’t just leave her behind, so I suppose it can’t be helped.”
“That’s right. I have a feeling Mako-san will be fine, and it seems fate has brought us together.”
Fate, huh?
It might be true.
Both Yamato-kun and Sayuri-sama were caught up in disturbances immediately after their transfer, but they overcame them with their own strength.
Compared to them, I might be considered fortunate.
“Thank you. Then Mako-san, you will accompany us.”
“Yes. Thank you, everyone.”
So, I was able to bow my head with genuine gratitude.
This is how I came to Helios Orb, and this is why I’m acting with the Wing Crest.
Of course, I don’t intend to just be a burden, so I plan to register as a Hunter and Healer soon.
After all, I’m a medical student.
Sayuri-sama was also a medical student, so we seem to have a lot in common.
“Eh? Is this space expansion magic!?”
“Yes. You can go out to the deck, shall I guide you?”
“Please do.”
As my companionship was decided and I was being told new things, I was told a shocking fact.
There’s no word for carriage in Helios Orb; instead, monsters that are easily tamed pull vehicles, hence the term beast carriage.
But I was amazed to learn that these beast carriages can expand their internal space using magic!
“W-What is this!?”
When Yamato-kun guided me to the deck, I was truly astonished.
The living room, and the VIP room where I was resting, were spacious.
Yet this beast carriage was only about the size of a small cruiser.
Indeed, without magic to expand the space, it wouldn’t fit…
By the way, is that a dragon pulling this beast carriage!?
“I’ll explain that too.”
He explained about dragons, and I realized how different things are between Earth and Helios Orb, thinking things like, “Dragonians are dragon-type beings, so aren’t they human?” and “Aren’t Dragoon dragon knights?”
“Lord Yamato.”
“Aria? Is something wrong?”
While Yamato-kun was teaching me various things in the observation lounge, Aria-chan, a shrine maiden of the Rabitry race, came over.
Her bunny ears are so cute…
I want to touch them, but I’ll have to resist…
“Yes. I have just received a divine oracle.”
“A divine oracle?”
Aria-chan seems to be a divine oracle shrine maiden, and she apparently came to Yamato-kun a few days ago.
I understood that guests cannot receive divine oracles, so a priestess chosen by the gods serves them, but I don’t quite understand that part.
“Yes. This time it was concise, just one word.”
“What do you mean?”
“I don’t know either. But the divine oracle was ‘Complete’.”
“Huh?”
What was that?
Even listening from the side, it made no sense, and Yamato-kun, who was at the center of it, was completely confused.
“I don’t understand the meaning either. But I was told to convey it.”
“…If I ever meet them, I want to punch them once.”
“I think that would be acceptable. Well then, I have conveyed your message.”
With that, Aria-chan left.
She didn’t admonish Yamato-kun for saying he wanted to punch god, she seemed indifferent. Is that allowed?
Isn’t that going too far in terms of disrespect?
“Lord Yamato, Aura Island is in sight.”
While I was thinking that, a voice echoed from a Dragonian.
I was surprised, but since Dragonians are dragon-type beings, of course they can speak.
“Ah, I understand. Well then, Mako-san, I’ll go tell everyone.”
“Yes, have a good trip. I’ll enjoy the sky journey here.”
Riding in a carriage pulled by dragons and flying through the sky is something I would never experience on Earth.
The beast carriage is covered by Barrier Magic, so there’s no fear of falling, and it also blocks the wind.
The deck is spacious, so there’s no sense of claustrophobia even while traveling in the beast carriage.
The exterior of this beast carriage resembles a cruiser from Earth, but I think this type of beast carriage is also fine.
It’s apparently a prototype, though.
“Ah, there you are.”
“You are… Marina, right?”
“Yes. Marina, a Fairy Half-Dragonewt. Yamato asked me to come and discuss your equipment.”
“My equipment? Ah, like my coat and weapon?”
I was wondering what she meant, but since there are monsters in Helios Orb, weapons and armor are essential, right?
“That’s right. This coat is standard equipment for the Wing Crest. The basic design is the same, but we differentiate them by the placement of armor.”
They even have standard equipment.
With differentiation based on the placement and shape of armor, this is quite a difficult decision.
The weapon is also a problem.
I’m not suited for combat due to my aptitude, but I’m not completely incapable of fighting.
However, I have little experience in close combat, so I want to avoid it, and I absolutely don’t want to use Engraving Tools because they might break.
That leaves generating Engraving Tools, but those would also be of a special shape even in Helios Orb.
Ah, I see.
If I could combine it with a weapon, perhaps I could disguise it somewhat?
“I’m struggling, but I can’t use swords or spears, so a staff would be the safest option, wouldn’t it?”
“A staff? That’s a bit surprising, is there a reason for that?”
“Yes. Like Yamato-kun, I can also generate Engraving Tools, but I doubt they’ve ever been seen or heard of in Helios Orb. I don’t have to worry about them being stolen, but it could lead to troublesome situations.”
“I see. So you want to combine those Engraving Tools with a weapon?”
“That would be ideal, but do you think it’s possible?”
“I think it’s possible unless it’s something extraordinary, but first, I need to hear about it.”
That’s true.
I had prepared myself for the possibility of being told it’s impossible, but if it’s possible, I need to explain everything thoroughly.
It won’t be done immediately, and I’ll have to refine the design carefully, so even if it’s possible, it seems like it will be quite a while from now.
But in its own way, this is something to look forward to.
All that’s left is my resolve, but this is not something I can decide on immediately, nor can I simply accept it, so I’ll take my time.
