Side: Meena
After finishing our hunt in the Ideal Mountain Range, we decided to visit the Priests’ Guild headquarters at Yamato’s suggestion. There, Yamato unveiled a new spell called “Inventing.”
While this spell requires the prerequisites of “Storage” and “Statering,” it enables the creation of shared inventory space linked to registered users, making it a highly desirable spell for Hunters.
Not only registered us, but Lily Wish and my brother’s couple, who were with us, also registered. Soon, Emperor Reinhardt and His Majesty, as well as many Hunter’s Raids, not just those participating in the Alliance, will be using it.
However, since this was an unplanned event, our lunch at Alka was a bit delayed.
Well, it’s a convenient spell, so that’s fine, but after this, we have to contract with four butlers who manage Union House at Feel’s Butler’s Guild. I don’t want to keep them waiting too long.
“I want to register too…”
However, Rebecca, who had been left behind at Alka due to feeling unwell, came to the main hall dragging her body, which could barely walk due to growing pains, while saying she wanted to register for Inventing.
“No, I understand you want to register, but wouldn’t it be better after your pain subsides a bit?”
“But it looks fun!”
Rebecca was throwing a tantrum, but I understood her feelings.
Besides, Rebecca’s storage holds quite a number of monsters, so she probably wants to organize her own storage.
Oh, in that case, Ed and the high butlers who were staying at Alka this time should also be registered.
“Then why don’t Raus and the others take Ed and the others and go to the Priests’ Guild?”
“That would be safer. But Rebecca, if you push yourself, tomorrow will be tough, so be careful about that.”
“Thank you!”
That’s how it turned out.
“Then, shall we go to the Butler’s Guild?”
“Yes. We’ve called four people today and they’re waiting at Union House, so let’s hurry.”
It wasn’t their scheduled day to manage Union House, but we informed them about today’s butler contract, so Luminia’s daughter, Yuni-chan, is also here.
“Also, Apricot-san, after the butler contract is finished, I’m going to the Hunter’s Guild to request dismantling. Can I complete my joining procedures there?”
“Yes, please do.”
Prim-san’s mother, Lady Apricot, will also be joining Wing Crest. After that, it’s to the Hunter’s Guild.
No, we need to request dismantling of the Feather Drake, Winger Drake, and Shell Grizzly we hunted earlier, so that’s better.
However, not everyone needs to go, and Yuni-chan is being brought to Alka first, so Lydia-san, Athena-san, and Aria-chan will stay behind. Sir Yuri will be studying with Mako-san for his Healer’s rank promotion test, and Flam-san and Ludia-san will be crafting items for delivery to the Crafter’s Guild.
Therefore, we, Yamato-san, Prim-san, Mana-sama, the four high butlers, and Lady Apricot will head to the Butler’s Guild.
“Then, let’s go.”
“We’ll be back as soon as possible, so please take care of things at home.”
“Yes.”
“Be careful on your way.”
As everyone who was staying behind saw us off, Yamato activated the Gate Stone for Union House, located on the first floor of the main hall.
The Gate Crystal teleports near the torii gate at the entrance of Hinomoto Mansion, but the Gate Stone teleports near its counterpart Gate Stone.
Union House has set up a Gate Stone in a room on the third floor, so that will be the teleportation destination.
Therefore, even when teleporting from Feel, the destination will be in front of the main hall of Hinomoto Mansion.
Upon teleporting to that room, we joined the four butlers waiting at Union House and headed to the Butler’s Guild.
As planned, Yuni-chan was taken to Alka by Lydia-san and Aria-chan, who came to pick her up.
We had informed the Butler’s Guild yesterday, so we were immediately shown to the reception room, and Butler Master Orkis also came.
Like other guilds, Guild Masters seem to be appearing more often when we visit.
“We’ve been expecting you. Please, have a seat.”
Prompted by Orkis, we sat down on the sofa set up in the center of the reception room.
Luminia and the others, who are about to sign contracts, are sitting on chairs behind us.
“I understand that today’s contracts are with Luminia, Alice, Laurel, and File.”
“Yes.”
Prompted by Orkis, Yamato began explaining the contract details.
Luminia, Alice, Laurel, and File, who are to be registered this time, will join Wing Crest and manage Alka in addition to Union House.
Marisa, Viola, and Yuria will prioritize their duties as maids to Mana-sama, Yuri-sama, and Carol-sama, respectively.
Mirei, Lady Hilde’s maid, will have the same conditions upon joining.
Chief Butler Eos is also Athena’s maid, so Luminia will be contracted as Sub-Chief Butler to assist her.
Wing Crest will cover their food, lodging, and clothing.
However, their dedicated Butler’s Wear is still in production, so they will wear their current attire until it is completed.
The qualification exams will be left to individual discretion.
Remuneration will be in accordance with their Butler rank, with possible increases depending on the details.
As they are joining a special union called Wing Crest, combat training will also be conducted.
Wing Crest will provide weapons and armor, but will accommodate requests regarding weapon shapes.
Luminia’s daughter, Yuni, will be raised by Wing Crest until she reaches adulthood.
Romance and marriage are personal choices and will not be interfered with, but intervention will occur if it is deemed harmful to Wing Crest.
In case of resignation, appropriate compensation for their work up to that point will be provided separately.
I believe that’s all.
These are very favorable terms for butlers, and since Luminia has Yuni, it is said that there are no better conditions.
“The combat training item caught my attention, but considering everyone in Wing Crest, it can’t be helped.”
“I think it will be fine, but there are fools everywhere.”
Orkis muttered, alternating glances between Yamato and Prim.
I understand the sentiment, but given that Raus was recently involved in an incident, this is non-negotiable.
Luminia, who is also a Hunter, is level 33, so she can handle minor scuffles, but Alice, Laurel, and File are at levels appropriate for their age.
“Other than that, there are no major issues. In fact, these are favorable conditions rarely seen even among nobles. No butler would refuse this.”
The conditions we presented are rarely offered even to S-rank butlers.
S-rank butlers usually have permanent contracts, but most butlers are contracted with individuals they’ve served since they were B-rank.
Therefore, the conditions can sometimes be a mere formality to the initial contract, and for qualification exams, the contractor’s wishes are often prioritized.
It also appears to be common for children to have a portion of their earnings deducted as child-rearing expenses.
If one is promoted to G-rank butler, their remuneration from the Butler’s Guild increases, but I’ve heard that increases based on performance are not very common.
“Then, if there are no issues, please proceed with this.”
“Understood. Luminia, Alice, Laurel, File. Are you all right with this?”
To Orkis’s final confirmation, all four nodded.
This means these four will also be joining Wing Crest.
“Also, regarding the management of Union House that we’ve been entrusting to the four of you until now, we have quite a lot to do, so could you dispatch about five people separately this time?”
“Understood. What rank would you prefer?”
“C-rank is fine. They will basically be working under Luminia, and we plan to dispatch them twice a week.”
“Understood.”
Orkis gave instructions to the staff waiting in the reception room while bowing from his seat.
There are about 200 registered butlers at Feel’s Butler’s Guild, but fewer than half of them are primarily working as butlers.
Since it’s a summer resort for nobles, many are contracted to manage their secondary residences, and nearly half of the B-rank butlers, and almost all S-rank and above butlers, work as live-in staff for the maintenance and management of noble residences.
When nobles visit Feel, C-rank butlers are also dispatched for short periods, but this happens only once a year at most. Therefore, particularly low-ranking butlers register with guilds like the Crafter’s Guild or Trader’s Guild for side jobs.
In fact, Alice and File are registered with the Crafter’s Guild, and Laurel is registered with the Healer’s Guild, and they mentioned that their earnings from those guilds are higher.
The same applies to Luminia, who is registered with the Hunter’s Guild.
“I will bring C-rank butlers shortly. In the meantime, may we proceed with Luminia’s promotion procedures?”
“Yes, please do.”
Ah, so Luminia is getting promoted after all.
Promotion to Butler rank is based on the number of skills acquired through qualification exams, years of dispatch, and experience.
Luminia has been registered as a butler for over five years, so I don’t think she lacks experience.
As for skills, Luminia, who is also a Hunter, obtained a Monster Dismantler license to dismantle monsters she hunted herself.
I also heard that she obtained a Culinary Qualification because she was often dispatched to help with cooking, and a Breeder Qualification to take care of her own Battle Horse.
Therefore, she meets the promotion requirements, but the reason Luminia couldn’t be promoted to S-rank was that due to her daughter Yuni, long-term contracts were difficult.
Many B-rank butlers are contracted at noble residences, but the contract period is one year, and after the period ends, the contract is usually terminated.
This is not only to provide experience to other B-rank butlers but also as preparation for taking qualification exams.
Promoting to S-rank butler has a condition of acquiring two or more skills, but long-term contracts at B-rank can lead to situations where butlers lack the time to study for qualification exams and thus cannot take the promotion exam. Therefore, the Butler’s Guild does not particularly welcome long-term contracts for B-rank butlers.
However, Alice, Laurel, and File, who contracted with us, are securing time to study for their qualification exams, so it was determined that long-term contracts would be acceptable.
Luminia, who has already acquired three skill qualifications, has no issues with years of dispatch and experience, so the condition was that she would be promoted if she could secure a long-term contract.
“Now then, Luminia, please present your license.”
“Understood.”
After receiving Luminia’s license, Orkis used servant magic that only Butler Masters can use.
This is a magic called Butler Modification, which rewrites ranks.
I also had Grand Hunter’s Master use it in Rio, but that rewrote the ranks of all hunters present, so it was apparently exclusive to Grand Master.
“It is finished. Luminia, with this, you are now an S-rank butler. We expect you to make even greater efforts to live up to your rank.”
“Thank you, Butler Master. And to everyone in Wing Crest, I look forward to working with you.”
Receiving her license, Luminia gracefully bowed, followed by Alice, Laurel, and File.
Now, it’s time to sign contracts with the C-rank butlers who have been called. The conditions will be largely the same as before, so there should be no particular issues.
The new contracts with Marisa, Viola, Yuria, and Eos have also concluded without problems, so this is a good stopping point.
