Side Flam
I, who had somehow come to be called the Arc Demon Princess, and Meena, who was called the Knight Princess as the younger sister of the Grand Order’s Master, were facing a White Dragoon roaring in anger.
The reason for this was that Meena and I had already defeated the five Lesser Dragoons and two Ice Dragoons that the White Dragoon had commanded.
It was tough fighting against so many Dragoons, but Meena and I managed to handle it using our Unique Magic.
“Meena, here we go!”
“Yes!”
Meena skillfully deflected the White Dragoon’s attacks using her Silverio Shield and magic.
Towards the White Dragoon, I used my Unique Magic, Aquarium Sphere, which had greatly contributed to the defeat of the Lesser and Ice Dragoons earlier.
Aquarium Sphere is a magic that creates a giant sphere of water in the air and traps the target within it.
However, I cannot use Barrier Magic, so escaping is easy.
Therefore, to compensate for this drawback, I have fused it with Dark Magic.
Dark Magic is said to affect the spirit, but its greatest characteristic is its ability to make the target heavier.
Yamato and Mako called it gravity, but I didn’t quite understand when I asked for details.
However, I was taught that if I can make the target heavier, it’s easy to impede their movements, and it might even be possible to crush them under their own weight.
The fused Dark Magic is currently entangling the White Dragoon, who is struggling within the Aquarium Sphere.
The reason I thought of this kind of magic was for Ridoceros Flow, the familiar I had contracted with.
Ridoceros is an aquatic species, but it is a monster that spends a lot of time on land.
However, as its classification suggests, it can swim freely in water, and because it also lives on land, its strength does not weaken on land.
But being an aquatic species, its true potential lies in the water.
Furthermore, aquatic species are said to weaken to the equivalent of one rank lower when brought onto land, but I also considered what would happen if a terrestrial species were pulled into the water.
In that case, they wouldn’t be able to breathe, and their movements would be hindered by the water, so it wouldn’t be a matter of weakening.
I am also an Ancient Undine, and I have had many opportunities recently, so I have become accustomed to underwater combat.
Thus, Aquarium Sphere is a magic that creates a favorable battlefield not only for Flow but also for me.
The sphere’s scale is 50 meters in radius.
The Ice Dragoons and Lesser Dragoons were also trapped and defeated within this Aquarium Sphere.
Flow managed to defeat two of the Lesser Dragoons by itself.
Flow is an S-N rank Ridoceros, and the Lesser Dragoons are P-N rank. Lesser Dragoons have a weak abdomen, and they were drowning inside the Aquarium Sphere, so it didn’t seem to be much trouble.
I was able to trap the White Dragoon inside the Aquarium Sphere.
However, as expected of a White Dragoon, my Aquarium Sphere is gradually freezing.
But Meena covered the Aquarium Sphere with her Unique Magic, Fielding Protection.
Meena’s Fielding Protection is originally Barrier Magic, but it is an elaborate magic that incorporates all attribute magic, Knight Magic, Shielding, and Purification.
Even though it says all attribute magic, in practice, it only uses the attributes that are weaknesses of the target monster, so in this case, it would be Fire attribute magic.
Furthermore, Earth attribute magic is also being used, so the heat emitted from Fielding Protection is gradually melting the Aquarium Sphere that the White Dragoon is freezing.
“Flam, I’m creating an entrance on the front!”
“Understood! Flow, let’s go!”
“Brrr!”
While cloaked in Wing Burst, I used Flying, and Flow used Scaff, which was imbued in the Tenma Stone on its collar. Simultaneously, we charged into the Aquarium Sphere.
Although Ridoceros spends more time on land, its four legs have fin-like webbing, and there is also webbing between its three toes.
I heard that the problem of breathing can be solved by extracting air from water in a similar way to the Engraving Magic, Ozone Ball, used by Yamato and Mako.
Therefore, it can move freely even underwater.
Just before entering the Aquarium Sphere, I dispelled my human transformation magic and returned to my original Undine form.
Upon seeing my form, the White Dragoon tried to approach me, but its movements were dulled by the effects of the Aquarium Sphere, and being in an unusual environment underwater, its movements were slow, unlike what one would expect from a Dragoon species.
This would be counterproductive for aquatic Dragoons or aquatic Sauruses, but the White Dragoon is a terrestrial species, so it is likely confused and flustered by the unfamiliar environment rather than being accustomed to it.
“Bururu!”
Towards the White Dragoon, Flow charged headfirst, cloaked in Water attribute magic.
It was reckless for Flow, an S-N rank monster, to charge at an A-R rank White Dragoon, but with Flow being accustomed to water and the White Dragoon not being so, Flow had the advantage.
It was unlikely that Flow could blow it away, and it was uncertain if damage would even register, but it was enough to divert the White Dragoon’s attention from me.
As expected, the White Dragoon, after being charged by Flow, was greatly thrown off balance due to being in the water, although it didn’t take damage.
Seizing this opportunity, I readied my Lapislazuli Longbow and unleashed my Unique Magic, Tidal Blaster.
Lightning attribute magic is dangerous underwater, but Tidal Blaster’s lightning attribute magic does not activate unless it hits.
It is adjusted to burn only the inside of the opponent’s body, and I have tested it several times in Veil Lake, so Flow, swimming near the White Dragoon, will not be electrocuted.
Furthermore, this Tidal Blaster uses the fused Water attribute magic like Yamato’s developed Hydro Engine, pushing the White Dragoon out of the Aquarium Sphere while dealing damage.
I believe I could defeat it with Tidal Blaster alone, but since it is an A-R rank monster, I want to ensure a sure kill.
The White Dragoon, pushed out of the Aquarium Sphere, was severely damaged and fell once, but it slowly began to get up.
However, its roar had weakened, and the damage and the effects of the Dark Magic fused with Tidal Blaster had almost immobilized it, so this was our chance.
I readied my Lapislazuli Longbow again and unleashed Tidal Blaster.
This time, it was aimed at Meena, not the White Dragoon.
Meena understood perfectly and received Tidal Blaster with her Silverio Sword, imbued with her Unique Magic, Mace Quake. The next moment, Mace Quake transformed into a giant sword.
This is our combined Unique Magic, Multi-Storm Blade, used by Meena and me.
Yamato and Mako call it Layered Magic, and I’ve heard that other Hunters and Orders are trying it lately, but there haven’t been any successful cases yet.
We’ve also gone through a lot of trial and error, so it seems likely that someone will be able to use it eventually.
Normally, when Multi-Storm Blade is swung, arrows of lightning, ice, or lava are released from the blade, but this time, those were not fired, serving only as a feint.
Even without them, the White Dragoon’s movements were greatly dulled by my Tidal Blaster, so they were unnecessary.
Therefore, the blade this time is only slightly larger than Mace Quake.
Meena mounted Breeze, who had evolved into a War Horse, and charged forward with her Silverio Sword at the ready.
Of course, the White Dragoon wasn’t just standing there; it opened its mouth wide to unleash a breath attack.
“Breeze, let’s go!”
“Heeehaw!”
The moment Meena spoke to Breeze, the White Dragoon unleashed a powerful ice-attribute breath attack.
If that breath attack had hit directly, even an Ancient Class would not have survived.
However, the White Dragoon’s breath attack did not hit Meena and Breeze.
Simultaneously with speaking, Meena gave Breeze a command and used Traveling to teleport them into the air.
Furthermore, by using Scaff from the same Tenma Stone as Flow, she made the War Horse gallop through the sky.
“Haaaaaah!!”
With the force of the fall, combined with Breeze’s speed, Meena, an Ancient Human, swung Multi-Storm Blade with all her might.
The White Dragoon, still with its mouth open to exhale, lost its life without even realizing its head had been severed from above.
“Breeze, are you alright?”
“Heeehaw!”
Meena, who used Telekinetic Magic to soften the impact of Breeze’s landing, immediately dismounted and checked its hooves.
Even though they had done this several times, she was still worried.
“Flow, we’re done, let’s go out.”
“Gurrr.”
Since I cannot use Telekinetic Magic, I used Wind attribute magic to gently lower Flow to the ground.
In situations like this, Telekinetic Magic is said to allow for finer control, so I wish I could use it, but I can’t be greedy, as the Heavenly Grace Magic I received when I evolved into an Ancient Undine is the coveted attribute magic.
“Ah, good work, Flam.”
“You too, Meena.”
We offered each other words of appreciation, but truth be told, we both wanted to rest a little.
“Next are Undead.”
“It seems so. But you shouldn’t have much trouble with them, Meena?”
“Perhaps, but that many will be a handful.”
The next thing that came into view was a horde of Undead.
Undead are separate species even if they have the same name, so there are no An or Catastrophe Species among them.
Instead, their ranks range widely from T-rank to O-rank.
The variety alone must be comparable to Slime.
However, Undead can be dealt significant damage even at high ranks if Knight Magic Purification can be used.
Therefore, if possible, I want to use the ritual magic Sacred Blighting, which has no particular usage restrictions, but it can only be used when a user of healing magic and a user of Knight Magic are present, so this will likely be Meena’s specialty.
If I use Mana Ring properly, I can deal damage, so I should focus on supporting Meena.
Exchanging glances and nodding, we mounted Flow and Breeze and decided to confront the Undead.
