The day after the next after Asma was born, I returned to the Crafting Hall after finishing my inspection of Memoria.
The reason was to prepare souvenirs for my father and mother, who were returning to Earth in three days.
The Hihishirokane sword I commissioned from Ed was finished, and I was looking for other magic tools and materials that could be used there, but it was very difficult because there was no absolute guarantee.
“I was thinking of a dress for Maoh, but in Yamato’s world, there’s no occasion to wear one, right?”
“It’s almost non-existent. Hmm, maybe Mother has some occasions?”
“There’s also the Seven Imperial Conference, so if you tailor it to that world’s design, I think Maoh would be happy.”
“Ah, that’s right.”
I had completely forgotten, but since my father was one of the Seven Imperial Lords, my mother also attended the Seven Imperial Conference once a year.
It seems they decide whether to wear a dress or kimono each time, but still, there’s no doubt she has occasions to wear them.
“Then, for Mother, I’ll go with a dress with a more subdued design.”
So, I had them prepare about three dresses for Mother, made from Royal Silk Cloth and Dragoon leather.
Oh, I wasn’t hastily making them now; I had started about two weeks ago, so don’t worry.
Rather, I was worried if the Hihishirokane sword I was forging for my father would be ready in time.
Ed certainly managed to finish it on time.
Furthermore, the day after Mako and I generated Blau Solaris and Agatholam, Aria actually received a divine oracle.
The content was that the Mirror Bag could also be used on Earth. Aria said it was a way to thank the gods because my father and mother’s visit was both unexpected and greatly helpful to them. Even so, since Earth doesn’t have technology like spatial expansion, I prepared one for each of my parents, limiting the enhancement to 10x.
The reason for the divine oracle after generating Blau Solaris and Agatholam was that the number of Engraving Divine Artifacts increased to four, which allowed the Divine Emperor’s magic power to be offset. This meant that monsters would no longer evolve unnecessarily. However, many monsters had already evolved, and there were even seven monsters that had evolved into Catastrophe Species, with nine more showing signs of evolving into Catastrophe Species. My father and mother had defeated the Kobold Emperor and Cetus among them, but there were still five remaining, and some were showing signs of evolution, so this was a problem that we had to deal with.
While saying that, I actually recently defeated one of them, Zirko of the Deer species which had evolved into a Catastrophe Species in the Mylight Mountains, as a trial run for Blau Solaris and Agatholam. Although it was a Catastrophe Species, like other Deer, it wouldn’t descend to the foothills unless there was no snow, so the urgency was low. However, since it was close to Feel and Prada, it was best to defeat it early if possible. The reason I casually mentioned it was that it was defeated with a single strike of Tuatha Dé Danann, the strongest mythical-class spell, which Blau Solaris and Agatholam could use simultaneously. As a Deer species, Zirko’s meat was incredibly delicious, and its antlers and hide were also top-class materials, so Emperor Reinhardt was very pleased. The only regret was that it was only a little over 10 meters long, so we couldn’t secure much material for ourselves. Well, I was able to use Zirko’s antlers to make a display stand for the Hihishirokane sword I’ll be gifting to my father, so I’ll consider it good.
“Yamato, the souvenirs for Asuka and Maoh are two 10x enhanced Mirror Bags, one sword, a display stand, three dresses, and assorted meats as food. Is that correct?”
“I think that’s fine for Father and Mother. As for Older Brother and Older Sister, I think clothes of that world’s design would be suitable for Older Sister.”
Older Sister doesn’t care much about fashion, but she has quite a few clothes, so about three outfits made of Royal Silk Cloth should be enough. A dress might be a bit much, especially considering Older Brother’s wedding, so one of them could be for that.
“Understood.”
“What about Older Brother?”
“It’ll be a wedding gift, and Sera will use it too, you know.”
My older brother’s souvenir would also serve as a wedding gift, and thus a gift for his soon-to-be sister-in-law, Sera. But precisely because of that, deciding what to give was difficult. If I were to use Helios Orb materials, the first things that come to mind are metal, monster materials, and magic tools. However, considering where they would be used, anything less than perfect could cause problems.
“A wedding dress is also an option, but it would have to be altered there, and who would do that?”
“That’s true.”
If I were to use it as material, it would be Royal Silk Cloth, but it requires Craft Magic to process. While it’s not impossible with a needle, since Royal Silk Cloth can be obtained from M-I Rank Monsters like the Royal Crawler, there’s a high chance the needle itself would break. After all, it’s so tough that even a Lapis Laz magic silver sword can’t even make a scratch. A magic-infused metal sword can cut it, but doing that on Earth would likely require a sewing machine, which presents quite a challenge.
“I can adjust the size to some extent, but without the person themselves…”
“Yeah, that’s right.”
With Adjusting, a type of Craft Magic, the size can be automatically adjusted to some extent, but fine-tuning is impossible without the person present. More importantly, the standard size needs to be known to set a baseline. Even so, Mother probably knows, so perhaps a single dress for Sera’s second outfit would be the safest bet.
“We’ll have to ask Maoh too, but that would be the most sensible approach.”
“As for Older Brother, perhaps I’ll have a coat tailored from Dragoon leather?”
“That might be the more sensible option for him too.”
So, for my older brother, it’s a coat, and for Sera, a coat and a dress. The coat is for winter, but I’m also adding Melting, so I think they’ll be comfortable.
And so, all the souvenirs have finally been completed today.
“Oh, is this a prototype airship?”
“It looks like a small cruiser, but airships are an extension of ships, so this size makes sense for a prototype.”
“That’s right.”
Besides the souvenirs to take back, I haven’t forgotten to prepare things that would make good stories. In addition to generating Blau Solaris and Agatholam with the mythical-class spell Tuatha Dé Danann, there’s also the airship, which Mother proposed. Since time was short, it’s truly a prototype, but it successfully flies, so I think it’s sufficient as a story.
The prototype airship’s exterior resembles an Earth-made small cruiser. Since it’s a prototype, the hull is made of magic silver, but the magic power is channeled through processed Tenma Stone, so even Element Class or Arch Class magic power is fine. The prototype airship is floating on Lake Alka, and since it can also be used as a boat, it’s equipped with a hydro-engine at the rear. Currently, it has transformed to become part of the hull’s sides, equipped with three pairs of wings made from Dragoon leather, and has Flying appended. While it uses this for flight, air vents modified from the hydro-engine, tentatively called jet engines, are also installed at the rear. Although further refinement is needed, my test ride suggests that the minimum conditions have been met. However, the duration and durability of Flying haven’t been sufficiently confirmed due to time constraints, so it needs to be thoroughly investigated in the future.
I put Father and Mother on the prototype airship, and began a test flight within Alka.
“It’s more bumpy than I expected.”
“It’s a prototype of a prototype, so please bear with it.”
Alka is in a windless state, but because the jet engines take in air and expel it backward, you can feel the wind on the airship. However, whether it’s due to poor adjustment of the jet engines or a problem with the appended Flying spell, the shaking is quite significant when standing on the deck. It’s fine inside the Mirror Space within the hull, but this shaking is unavoidable when on watch or facing airborne monsters.
“Yes, if it can’t fly more stably, it might crash.”
“It would be good if it only ended there, but for now, we’ve managed to make it fly, so stable flight is definitely the next step.”
There’s no sign of it crashing at the moment, but that’s largely because there’s no wind in Alka. Outside Alka, strong winds can blow, so flight stabilization is essential.
“But it hasn’t even been a month since Mother proposed it, has it? To have something like this completed in such a short time… Magic really is amazing.”
“When it comes to crafting, I feel the same way.”
Mother suggested building an airship, and that suggestion was made only about two weeks ago. Even as a prototype, completing an airborne vehicle this quickly would be impossible on Earth, but with magic and the Helios Orb, it’s achievable. Well, in our case, we can use Element Class and Arch Class magic power without reservation, which is also a reason for the increased work speed. The fact that Craft Magic doesn’t damage or waste materials is also one of the reasons we were able to push it to completion in just under two weeks. It’s genuinely helpful.
“Some magic doesn’t damage the materials.”
“It’s flexible in some ways, but not in others.”
“I agree.”
Association Magic, including Craft Magic, does not have any negative effects on equipment or materials, even with Element Class magic power. Rather, magic that causes negative effects is limited to Enhancement Magic, Unique Magic, and Elemental Magic. The three Enhancement Magic spells are Physicarring for body enhancement, Manaring for magic power enhancement, and Accelerating Magic for speed enhancement. Other Supplication Magic spells are fine. Oh, and Flying and Scaffolding are also problematic. To put it simply, magic used in combat is out. However, Manaring has the biggest impact. That’s because it’s a magic that strengthens magic or equipment with magic power, affecting it directly. Of course, directly channeling magic power is also prohibited, so we have to be quite careful in our daily lives.
“I see, so that’s why.”
“Yeah. That’s why we used all the leftover White Dragoon leather for the wings of this airship.”
The White Dragoon defeated by Meena and Flam during the Labyrinth flood in the Gagun Labyrinth is a rare Ice Element Dragoon. It’s an A-Rank Monster, so it’s not easily damaged and can withstand Arch Class magic power, which is why it was chosen for the wings of this prototype airship. However, the wings were larger and more numerous than expected, completely depleting our stock. So, if we need more, we’ll have to enter the labyrinth and hunt Dragoons indiscriminately. While the common Lesser Dragoon is P-Rank, higher-ranked ones are M-Rank, rare and abnormal species are A-Rank, and Catastrophe Species are O-Rank.
“A labyrinth, huh? I heard you didn’t go in the end.”
“It takes several days to several weeks to clear, and I heard that once you’re inside, you stay there the whole time.”
During this past month, my father and mother did not enter any labyrinths. The reason is as my father said, but even without clearing it, it’s possible to visit the second or third floors and return on the same day. The reason they didn’t go in was that labyrinths primarily involve combat with monsters. My father and mother, though incredibly high-leveled, aren’t exactly fond of fighting for its own sake. So, even though they were interested, they didn’t feel like going.
“Since they’re leaving the day after tomorrow, wouldn’t it be interesting to see a shallow floor of a labyrinth as one of the souvenirs?”
“Ah, speaking of which, labyrinths are mostly like exteriors, aren’t they?”
They are. Of course, there are floors that feel like “The Labyrinth,” and floors that mimic towns or the interiors of buildings, but many floors are grasslands, snowfields, or deserts. Furthermore, they have lighting that resembles the sun, and they even sync with the outside world, so I think it’s enough for a souvenir story.
“In that case, it might be worth a visit.”
“Yeah. Oh, Yamato, if we go, which labyrinth will it be?”
“Krater Labyrinth.”
The first floor there is a snowfield, and the second floor is a mountainous region with various climates, and there’s even a mountain made entirely of water, so it’s worth seeing. Especially since it’s a sight they can’t see on Earth.
“That sounds interesting. Then I’m looking forward to tomorrow.”
“Ah, understood.”
Fortunately, I have no plans tomorrow, so it’s decided. The remaining issue is who can come. Since the purpose isn’t subjugation or material collection, a small group should be sufficient. I’ll have to confirm with everyone tonight.
