Chapter 5: Is Leng Qing Qiu Feeling Jealous?
After being bitten by Leng Qing Qiu in the bathroom for a while, by the time both of them finished showering, two rather deep teeth marks appeared on Lu Zhiyin’s shoulder.
“…”
Without a word, Lu Zhiyin merely looked at Leng Qing Qiu with a gaze full of unspoken grievances. Leng Qing Qiu, on the other hand, shrugged, not feeling like she had done anything wrong.
Hadn’t Lu Zhiyin asked for it? Why should she feel guilty? Nevertheless, Leng Qing Qiu still carefully bandaged Lu Zhiyin’s wounds.
Every injury must be treated with care, preventing infection and minimizing scarring. Leng Qing Qiu didn’t want her childhood friend to be ruined so quickly.
After treating the wounds in the bathroom, Leng Qing Qiu dried Lu Zhiyin and then carried her back to the living room.
“It’s getting late; get some rest early. You still have classes tomorrow. I took leave for you today, but the teachers are still quite unhappy with you.”
As she spoke, Leng Qing Qiu stood to the side, blow-drying her own hair.
Once her hair was dry, Leng Qing Qiu began blow-drying Lu Zhiyin’s hair.
“…”
In silence, while blow-drying Lu Zhiyin’s hair, Leng Qing Qiu reminisced about her past memories.
Had she ever been this attentive to anyone before? It seemed not.
Was this meticulous care for Lu Zhiyin simply out of fear of her being ruined? Perhaps. Leng Qing Qiu didn’t want the answers to these questions.
The more one knows, the more conflicted one tends to become. She only needed to walk her own path.
What was so bad about being willful?
As her thoughts drifted, Leng Qing Qiu’s hand, which was running through Lu Zhiyin’s hair, unconsciously tightened.
“Yip…”
The girl’s pained cry jolted Leng Qing Qiu out of her daze.
“Hm…? It’s done. We can go to the bedroom now.”
Still not apologizing, Leng Qing Qiu patted the top of the girl’s head. After confirming that her hair was completely dry, she turned off the hair dryer, returned to the bedroom to reset the bed, and finally carried Lu Zhiyin towards the bedroom.
Back in the bedroom, lying in bed with Lu Zhiyin, Leng Qing Qiu took out her phone.
Lu Zhiyin watched from the side. Leng Qing Qiu seemed to have no intention of hiding anything, entering the lock screen password right in front of her.
Lu Zhiyin memorized the lock screen password. Although it wasn’t useful at the moment, she knew there would be a time when it would be.
With that thought, Lu Zhiyin turned to find her own phone. She rolled to the edge of the bed and plugged it into the charger by the nightstand.
While charging, Lu Zhiyin opened Qiuqiu.
Her client, Ziyan, had replied.
“Are you free now?”
“Yes, are you still playing?”
After replying respectfully, she followed up with a bowing emoji.
Before the client on the other end could reply, Leng Qing Qiu reacted. She hugged Lu Zhiyin from behind.
Since Lu Zhiyin was her girlfriend now, wasn’t it normal to hold her girlfriend?
While hugging Lu Zhiyin, Leng Qing Qiu glanced at Lu Zhiyin’s phone screen.
“Ziyan?”
Reading out Zhu’s username, Leng Qing Qiu didn’t seem to care. She pressed her face against Lu Zhiyin’s cheek.
Being this close to her childhood friend felt quite nice.
“Yeah, she’s my client. I can earn money by playing with her or helping her play.”
Nodding, Leng Qing Qiu was too close, making Lu Zhiyin a bit uncomfortable. She turned her head.
This provoked Leng Qing Qiu’s displeasure. She reached out and squeezed Lu Zhiyin’s shoulder, which she had bitten earlier.
“Mmm…”
Her body trembling slightly, Lu Zhiyin didn’t resist.
She focused intently on the phone screen, waiting for the client’s reply.
“Okay, get online.”
In less than two minutes, Zhu replied.
After receiving the reply, Lu Zhiyin exited Qiuqiu and logged into her game account.
Leng Qing Qiu, however, grew increasingly irritated by the lack of response.
She looked at Lu Zhiyin pulling Zhu into the room and starting the match with dissatisfaction. She watched as Lu Zhiyin picked a strong hero and was dominated by Zhu.
Even though it was just a normal game, Leng Qing Qiu felt annoyed.
As she watched, she suddenly wrapped her arms around Lu Zhiyin’s waist and lifted her, placing her on her lap.
“Yah…?”
Letting out a startled cry, Lu Zhiyin momentarily forgot about her game.
Suddenly stopping in the middle of a team fight, the outcome was predictable. Both she and her client died, much to her client’s displeasure.
“…”
On the other side, Zhu lay on her sofa. She looked at the foolish move her “black slave fighter” had just made and expressed her confusion.
“…Sorry, a cat just jumped on me.”
Looking at the client’s query on the public chat, Lu Zhiyin got anxious. She quickly fabricated a flimsy excuse. Fortunately, Zhu didn’t seem to mind.
“Oh, you have a cat? That’s nice.”
After replying, there were no further messages.
Lu Zhiyin didn’t know if Zhu was still angry. She anxiously continued playing the game, aiming to finish it quickly.
“…”
Beneath Lu Zhiyin, Leng Qing Qiu narrowed her eyes after hearing her explanation.
She rested her forehead against the back of Lu Zhiyin’s head, rubbing it gently. Then, she rested her chin on Lu Zhiyin’s shoulder.
“If I am a cat, what do you think you would be?”
She asked while breathing into Lu Zhiyin’s ear, her words slurred, making Lu Zhiyin’s skin crawl.
Her gameplay faltered slightly again, but this time, it didn’t cause any major issues.
“No… No, I just made up that excuse earlier.”
While controlling her character in the game, she explained to Leng Qing Qiu.
Of course, Leng Qing Qiu knew Lu Zhiyin was just speaking offhand. She didn’t need to make a big deal out of it.
She just felt inexplicably unhappy.
Had Lu Zhiyin never proactively asked her to play games? Did she think she couldn’t afford it?
“…Eeek!? Don’t… Don’t do that right now…”
Growing more annoyed with every thought, Leng Qing Qiu reached for Lu Zhiyin’s chest. The successful assault on her sensitive areas caused Lu Zhiyin to drop her phone.
Just as she was pushing the enemy’s crystal, she tumbled into the spring, dying along with Zhu.
Fortunately, before Zhu could ask “what the f*ck”, her teammates pushed the crystal and won the game.
The game ended. Lu Zhiyin couldn’t bother with explanations anymore. She hastily picked up her phone, quit the game, and focused her attention entirely on Leng Qing Qiu.
“…Then when do you think we can do it?”
As soon as she exited the game, Leng Qing Qiu’s deadly question returned.
This question was too difficult for Lu Zhiyin. If it were possible, she would wish to never do such a thing.
“Never mind…”
Seeing Lu Zhiyin’s flustered expression, Leng Qing Qiu shook her head.
“If I’m a cat, what do you think you would be?”
She quickly asked another question. Although the two questions were unrelated.
“Uh… maybe a mouse?”
Yeah, she’d probably just be a mouse. She was also one of Leng Qing Qiu’s prey.
“Why don’t you play games with me?”
After answering one question, Leng Qing Qiu threw out another. While these two questions had no prior connection.
“Hm…? Are you jealous?”
Lu Zhiyin was somewhat dim-witted, but not entirely so. She sensed a hint of jealousy in Leng Qing Qiu’s words.
“…No, if you don’t want to answer, then don’t. Let’s sleep.”
Changing the subject, Leng Qing Qiu turned off the bedroom light.
She also began to wonder if she herself was jealous. Did she truly possess such an emotion?
