Chapter 48: Preparing the Murder Weapon
Time passed incredibly quickly, and the remaining half-day seemed to vanish in the blink of an eye. Lu Zhiyin had little opportunity to prepare the murder weapon for killing Qin Father’s adopted son.
She was sent to the classroom by Long Qinxin early, sitting in her original seat. Apart from the absence of someone in front of her and beside her, nothing seemed to have changed.
Since the official start of school, the trash cans had been put back in their places, and there was some trash inside, but no disgusting stench yet.
Well… although it would probably revert to its original state before long.
“Ha…”
With a soft sigh, Lu Zhiyin went to the corridor outside the classroom.
She reached out and gripped the railing, trying to pull herself up, only to find it impossible.
Her strength seemed even less than when she had first arrived.
So, she could only look at the crowd passing by on the sports ground through the gaps between the railings.
As she watched, she saw who she wanted to see.
Qin An, wearing her school uniform, was walking with a displeased look on her face, followed by a much shorter little boy.
The little boy was very close to her. If nothing unexpected happened, this should be Qin Father’s adopted son, Qin An’s nominal younger brother.
Lu Zhiyin clenched the railing, and she began to think about how to kill that guy.
She needed Qin An to lead the boy to a secluded place, away from pedestrians and any potential bodyguards, then to dismiss Qin An, and quickly kill him, so that he wouldn’t have time to call for help.
This would be somewhat difficult for her, being disabled, but not impossible. Anyway, there was no rush. They were all in the same school, so she would always find an opportunity.
Lu Zhiyin slowly walked to the stairwell and closed her eyes slightly.
The problem of the murder weapon couldn’t be solved. A utility knife or scissors would be enough. These two things were easy to get at school.
Sitting in the wheelchair, Lu Zhiyin waited for a few minutes.
She knew that Qin An would not be late for class now, so she wasn’t in a hurry. She just waited quietly.
“Lu Zhiyin? Why are you blocking here instead of returning to the classroom?”
As expected, before class started, Qin An’s voice arrived as scheduled.
“I’m waiting for you.”
Lu Zhiyin opened her eyes. Qin An’s hair was neatly combed, and she looked very spirited. Coupled with the classic blue and white school uniform, she was full of youthful vitality.
She was almost a different person from the delinquent girl she was before. Merely changing some living habits seemed to have created a new person.
“…Blocking…blocking me? What for?”
Qin An took a step back, feeling a bit guilty.
She actually had a rough guess of what Lu Zhiyin wanted to do. It was nothing more than asking her opinion on killing her father’s adopted son.
To be honest, Qin An didn’t dare to think about it in detail. After going back yesterday, she just buried herself in her blanket and slept. The very next morning, she brought her father’s adopted son to school.
She even had a nightmare last night, dreaming that her father was completely disappointed in her for killing his adopted son and sent her to prison.
This nightmare made her even more fearful of killing.
“Have you thought about what I said yesterday?”
Lu Zhiyin clenched the armrests of the wheelchair.
Qin An’s opinion was very important to Lu Zhiyin. If Qin An agreed, Lu Zhiyin would have much less trouble. If Qin An still chose to be a coward, it would be difficult for Lu Zhiyin.
“…Forget it, this is fine too… I can’t compete… and it doesn’t matter. I will do my best to help with what you need, and I will beg my father.”
Qin An showed her timidity.
“…I see.”
Lu Zhiyin gave her a deep look, then turned and returned to the classroom.
From Qin An’s somewhat confused eyes, she saw Qin An’s desire for her father’s approval. Although Qin An chose to be a coward and promised to help Lu Zhiyin get Leng Qing Qiu out of prison, Lu Zhiyin still did not intend to change her plan.
She would kill Qin An’s rival.
Anyway, this life was going to end, and where it ended seemed to be irrelevant. There was no need to be limited to dying in front of Long Qinxin.
Although she really didn’t want to help Qin An, for the sake of progression, some things probably had to be done.
Lu Zhiyin thought that if she chose to be a coward with Qin An this time, and let Qin Father’s adopted son continue to develop, Qin An’s opinion of her would probably not change much. The best she could hope for would be a nanny and a friend.
If she showed herself willing to commit a capital offense for Qin An, Qin An’s favorability towards her would undoubtedly rise significantly.
“Heh…”
Lu Zhiyin sighed again.
After the sigh, there was a long silence.
She spent the entire morning in silence, listening quietly, and taking notes quietly.
As Zhu Qing had said earlier, there were not many classes today. After distributing textbooks, only one class was actually held.
In a blink of an eye, it was lunchtime. The other students went to the cafeteria, but Lu Zhiyin spent the entire lunch break lying down in the classroom.
She wasn’t in the mood to eat. Her stomach seemed to have gotten used to being hungry, and it didn’t feel too uncomfortable.
To her, school was very boring now. She was focused on meeting Zhu Qing in the afternoon and preparing the murder weapon.
There were no classes in the afternoon, but school did not end early, and the school was much noisier than usual.
Lu Zhiyin ignored the noise of the school and went to the school library.
In the library, Zhu Qing sat quietly behind the computer desk, exactly as Lu Zhiyin remembered her.
It seemed that quite a few people came to borrow books today, and Zhu Qing had become a little busy.
Lu Zhiyin watched quietly from the doorway as Zhu Qing registered the students borrowing books. She also saw Zhu Qing writing “overdue” on the wrists of those with overdue books.
“Senior Zhu Qing, I’m here.”
When Zhu Qing was almost done with her tasks, Lu Zhiyin leaned closer and called out to her.
“Mm? Zhiyin, you’re here.”
Zhu Qing noticed Lu Zhiyin’s presence. She took out a thick storybook and a blank notebook.
“Mm.”
Lu Zhiyin nodded gently.
Then, without further meaningless pleasantries, they began to discuss the content of the storybook.
To be honest, Lu Zhiyin had somewhat forgotten the content of the story, but the story was simple and easy to understand, so she could easily grasp the plot again.
In their discussion about the ending of the story, Lu Zhiyin did not express her own opinions much, merely listening to Zhu Qing’s thoughts and nodding occasionally to express her approval.
This behavior, however, pleased Zhu Qing, which was an unexpected pleasant surprise.
After staying in the library for a long time, until dismissal time, Lu Zhiyin asked Zhu Qing for a utility knife, bid her farewell, and left the library.
After leaving the library, Lu Zhiyin waited for Long Qinxin at the school gate while keeping an eye on Qin An and Qin Father’s adopted son.
