Chapter 2: A Familiar School and Classroom, a Different Identity
Lu Zhiyin followed the divine maiden to the teaching building and then went to the classroom’s office. Although this new body had four limbs, her constitution seemed poor. Just climbing the stairs made Lu Zhiyin a little breathless. In contrast, the divine maiden was still holding her head high and walking leisurely, showing no signs of fatigue. Lu Zhiyin quietly observed the divine maiden. She thought that even if this girl didn’t use divine power, she probably wouldn’t be able to defeat her given the difference in their physiques. Closing her eyes, Lu Zhiyin entered the office with the divine maiden.
Upon seeing Lu Zhiyin, the class teacher was startled. After all, Lu Zhiyin’s original identity was that of a deceased person, and her academic records should have been canceled. It was normal to feel frightened by the resurrection of the dead. After checking Lu Zhiyin’s new identity and a completely different resume, the class teacher finally breathed a sigh of relief. He had targeted Lu Zhiyin in the class before, so he had been feeling guilty and sleepless after hearing about Lu Zhiyin’s death. Lu Zhiyin could see the director’s fear and thought that the upcoming school life would be much easier. The face that was exactly the same as before brought not only trouble but also certain conveniences.
After leaving the office, Lu Zhiyin went to see the school dormitory. She planned to board at school, which would reduce her need for money and also the fatigue. With her legs, she had many ways to earn money, but she still didn’t want to be too tired. She wanted to take things easy as much as possible.
…
While Lu Zhiyin and the divine maiden were looking at the dormitory, Long Qinxin slowly returned to the classroom. Since Lu Zhiyin’s death, Long Qinxin had been in a daze for over a month. Having lost all her family members, she didn’t know how to continue living. She just went to school, managed the company, ate, and slept by muscle memory. She continued to live in a haze. Fortunately, due to her actions at school last semester, no one would bother her anymore. Qin An had mended her ways and had become busy, not coming to school often. As for Leng Qing Qiu… that guy had already dropped out, and Long Qinxin didn’t know what he was doing. She was not familiar with Qin An and Leng Qing Qiu. The only connection was Lu Zhiyin. After Lu Zhiyin was gone, she no longer cared about those two.
“…Sigh…”
Lying on Lu Zhiyin’s former desk, Long Qinxin sighed. She closed her eyes, and her eyes began to sting again. After such a long time, thinking of that white-haired girl’s face still made her heart ache, and she couldn’t stop herself from shedding tears.
“Did you hear? Two new transfer students joined, and they’re exceptionally beautiful.”
“Transfer students? Why would anyone voluntarily transfer here? This school isn’t that outstanding.”
The students in front of her were whispering gossip. Long Qinxin wasn’t interested in the transfer students; she remained immersed in her own world. It wasn’t until the class bell rang and the class teacher entered the classroom that Lu Zhiyin collected her thoughts and took out her textbooks.
“Ahem, today, we have two new students in our class. Please introduce yourselves now.”
As the class teacher finished speaking, Lu Zhiyin strode into the classroom.
“Hello everyone, my name is Lu Shiyu. I’m from XX City. I’m very happy to be here. I will be studying with you all for the next few semesters. Please take care of me.”
Smiling, Lu Zhiyin placed her hands on her lower abdomen and bowed. She then sat down by the bedside in the front row near the corridor. A ripple of whispers spread through the classroom. The reason was simple: Lu Zhiyin’s face had not changed, and everyone couldn’t help but recall the weak, crippled girl in their class before. This included Long Qinxin. When she saw Lu Zhiyin’s face, she couldn’t help but connect the current Lu Shiyu with the deceased Lu Zhiyin. She briefly thought Lu Zhiyin was still alive and that this so-called new classmate was Lu Zhiyin. But she quickly dismissed this absurd idea. Lu Zhiyin had died in her arms, and she had buried her with her own hands; it was impossible for her to be alive. Besides, the person in front of her just looked like Lu Zhiyin.
“She’s not Zhiyin…”
Long Qinxin squeezed her fingers, telling herself that Lu Zhiyin was unable to walk. The new person who appeared just looked exactly like Lu Zhiyin.
“…”
At her seat, Lu Zhiyin glanced at Long Qinxin, who was struggling with her thoughts. She turned her head to look at the door. She didn’t intend to have any more interactions with Long Qinxin. She now needed to adapt to her new identity and a completely different persona. She was Lu Shiyu, a transfer student from another city, healthy and cheerful, not the disabled and gloomy weakling she used to be. Lu Zhiyin pinched her palm.
“Oh my god, she’s so beautiful!”
Soon, the exclamations of her classmates brought Lu Zhiyin back to her senses. She looked towards the podium. The divine maiden was standing on the stage, looking coldly at Lu Zhiyin. Lu Zhiyin inexplicably got goosebumps. The divine maiden looked displeased, and Lu Zhiyin was afraid she would destroy everything at any moment. This world was created by that damnable evil god, and Lu Zhiyin had no doubt she could destroy this world again. It was far too dangerous to have such terrifying power in the hands of someone as childish as this. Lu Zhiyin was helpless; she could only hope that everything would proceed normally.
“Um, introduction…”
The class teacher seemed intimidated by the divine maiden’s aura and weakly reminded her.
“My name is Ouyang Qing. That’s it. Also, some people, stop looking at me with dirty eyes, or I’ll gouge your eyeballs out.”
With a condescending tone, she threw down the threatening words and sat down next to Lu Zhiyin. Logically, few people could tolerate being threatened by a newcomer in such a manner and not curse her, but the students in the class were eerily silent.
“…”
Lu Zhiyin remained silent. She was sitting in her seat and could probably understand why this girl looked so displeased. After all, this was a dating sim world; it was normal for nameless passersby to develop feelings for attractive people. It was just that the divine maiden seemed unable to tolerate gazes with sexual intent. Lu Zhiyin silently made a note of this information and, at the same time, memorized the name the divine maiden had given, planning to call her by that name later.
“Is Ouyang Qing your real name?”
Lu Zhiyin asked softly. She originally wanted to poke Ouyang Qing’s arm, but she might have her hand broken by this damn girl next to her, so she abandoned the idea.
“Fake. Made it up.”
Glancing at Lu Zhiyin, Ouyang Qing was still angry about the gazes directed at her. She was considering whether to let those who dared to lust after her die in accidents.
In the corner of the last row of the classroom, Long Qinxin had not heard Ouyang Qing’s previous threats to everyone. She had just broken free from her internal struggle. Looking back at Lu Zhiyin’s back from a distance, she decided to approach the familiar yet strange person after class.
