Chapter 50: Let’s Go Travel
At noon in the school, bright sunlight passionately kissed the people walking on the ground.
The heat hit Lu Zhiyin’s face as she looked up at the dazzling golden sun.
The weather was still good, but her mood was still bad.
Why exactly did she go to Ouyang Qing to say she wanted to go on a trip? Was it just to be contrary?
Traveling was actually a very troublesome thing, let alone planning the itinerary. Just talking about the most realistic aspect, money, this one difficulty was enough to stump Lu Zhiyin.
“I really have gone mad.”
Walking down from the rooftop, Lu Zhiyin closed her eyes.
Ouyang Qing had readily agreed to her proposal, and Lu Zhiyin had no room to go back on her word.
However, Lu Zhiyin no longer intended to go back on her word.
Having been cowardly her whole life, perhaps she should be truly brave for once, instead of only daring to fantasize in her heart.
She thought that the torment targeted at her, named “game,” should end. This game should have a conclusion.
She would not believe Ouyang Qing’s words about letting her go home; that guy could deceive her once, and then twice.
Lu Zhiyin planned to assassinate the deity at the end of her journey, putting her fantasized scenarios into practice.
She wanted to avenge herself for the suffering she had endured by confronting the deity.
Lu Zhiyin remembered the sins committed by Leng Qing Qiu and Long Qinxin against her, and Lu Zhiyin also knew who the true culprit behind all of this was after those two.
Undoubtedly, it was that scoundrel who called himself a deity.
Her gaze turned sharp, and Lu Zhiyin walked towards the teaching building.
Revenge could actually be carried out at any time. The reason she decided to go on a trip was perhaps for Lu Zhiyin herself after all.
“Just a little more cowardly… one last time.”
She had never traveled far in the real world. Before her life was completely ended or the deity froze her as an eternal plaything, she intended to fulfill a small wish of hers.
Yet, for this insignificant wish, Lu Zhiyin dared not express it directly; she used revenge to mask what she longed for.
“…Sigh…”
She sighed, a little lost, and Lu Zhiyin walked slowly.
At the foot of the teaching building, Lu Zhiyin saw Zhu Qing.
“Junior.”
Seeing Lu Zhiyin walking in the sunlight from afar, Zhu Qing was a little surprised.
She hadn’t seen Lu Zhiyin in the classroom and was anxiously searching for Lu Zhiyin around the school, but she didn’t expect Lu Zhiyin to appear before her.
“Senior.”
Nodding towards Zhu Qing, Lu Zhiyin quickened her pace.
She came up behind Zhu Qing and carefully hooked her arm.
“Where did you go? I didn’t see you in the classroom. I asked the students in the class, and they said you left very early and didn’t return to the classroom all morning.”
Zhu Qing seemed a bit worried.
She turned around and stroked the top of Lu Zhiyin’s head.
The soft touch in her palm put Zhu Qing at ease; looking at the girl in front of her, it seemed nothing had happened.
“I was on the school rooftop. Sorry for worrying you, senior.”
Lu Zhiyin looked up at the clear blue sky above.
If nothing unexpected happened, Ouyang Qing should still be sitting on the rooftop railing at this moment.
“…What were you doing on the rooftop?”
The word “rooftop” made Zhu Qing’s heart race.
This word always made her think of bad things.
“Don’t worry, senior, I’m very timid, I’m afraid of death, and wouldn’t dare commit suicide. It was just a friend who was in a bad mood, and I went up to see her.”
Lu Zhiyin smiled.
“Friend… that Ouyang Qing?”
Zhu Qing stroked her chin.
“She’s the so-called deity, isn’t she? Truly a wicked person…”
Zhu Qing easily guessed Ouyang Qing’s identity.
“Mhm…”
Having no desire to hide it, Lu Zhiyin shrugged.
Mentioning the deity, the conversation became heavy.
Zhu Qing wanted to help Lu Zhiyin, and she also felt indignant for Lu Zhiyin in her heart, but she wasn’t foolish enough to challenge a non-human existence like a deity.
Zhu Qing once again felt her powerlessness.
She could not change this world, where the tone was set by the deity, nor could she interfere with the deity itself.
“Let’s go to the cafeteria to eat. If we go late, all the good food will be gone.”
After a moment of silence, Zhu Qing changed the subject. She took Lu Zhiyin’s hand and led her towards the distant cafeteria.
On the rooftop railing, Ouyang Qing watched the departing pair quietly.
Recalling what Lu Zhiyin had told her that morning about traveling together, Ouyang Qing closed her eyes.
“A friend…”
She pinched the doll at her waist and rubbed the head of the turtle doll.
As a deity, Lu Zhiyin’s thoughts were hidden from her; of course, she knew what Lu Zhiyin was planning.
“So she’s going to put her past thoughts into practice… The game is really ending soon… Sigh…”
Sighing, Ouyang Qing hadn’t figured out how to deal with Lu Zhiyin for the moment.
She decided to put the assassination aside for now and look forward to the fun encountered during the trip.
…
In the cafeteria, Zhu Qing spent money to buy two rich lunches, one with three meat dishes and one vegetarian dish. Lu Zhiyin had no money, so this meal was still treated by Zhu Qing.
“Phew… Junior, the rumors will be completely resolved by tomorrow morning. Have you thought about how to deal with Leng Qing Qiu? Should we ignore it, report it to the police, or find a private detective to handle the leverage that guy has?”
Zhu Qing took a sip of the school’s free seaweed and egg drop soup.
Resolving the school rumors was relatively easy for her; the difficult part was always the matter concerning Leng Qing Qiu.
“Not yet.”
Lu Zhiyin also imitated Zhu Qing and took a sip of soup.
“Cough… cough… cough… So hot…”
The excessively hot soup made Lu Zhiyin cough incessantly. She put down the soup bowl and fanned herself on the side of her face.
“Pfft…”
Lu Zhiyin’s comical actions made Zhu Qing burst into laughter.
“Can’t help it, Junior, you’re so cute. Don’t you even blow your soup before drinking it?”
Taking out two tissues from her pocket, Zhu Qing handed them to Lu Zhiyin.
“Don’t think about it too much for now. I asked my father to find you a job in the school, cleaning the sports equipment in the equipment room. The equipment room is not far from the library, so I can keep an eye on you. The salary isn’t high, but it’s barely enough. While covering daily expenses, you’ll also have some left over for pocket money. You don’t have to worry about tuition fees either; working for the school will help offset some of the tuition, and with the subsidies I’ll help you apply for, you basically won’t have to pay extra.
Zhu Qing changed the subject and talked about Lu Zhiyin’s job.
“…”
Lu Zhiyin fell silent.
This job was certainly excellent for her, but she probably wouldn’t stay much longer, making the job meaningless.
“The job is great.”
Lu Zhiyin closed her eyes. She took the tissues Zhu Qing handed her and wiped her mouth and the soup stains on her collar.
“However, I plan to go on a trip with a friend recently, and we’ll be leaving this city. I might not be able to do this job, and I won’t even be able to come to school during this time.”
Lu Zhiyin shook her head.
“…Is that so…?”
Zhu Qing was stunned.
Lu Zhiyin was going on a trip with the deity.
Zhu Qing felt that this was not a good omen.
“Senior wants to join us? My friend probably wouldn’t mind.”
Lu Zhiyin extended an invitation to Zhu Qing.
This was her selfish desire; in the remaining short time, she wanted to spend it with the person she liked.
And Zhu Qing fulfilled this wish of hers.
“Sure.”
Zhu Qing readily agreed to Lu Zhiyin without thinking much.
Not only Lu Zhiyin, but Zhu Qing also wanted to leave her long-term residence and see other places.
As for academics… this was not a problem for Zhu Qing at all; Zhu Qing never neglected her studies no matter where she was.
She was smart and self-disciplined, and the school’s courses were all within her grasp.
