Chapter 55: She is always being threatened
Inside the bus, Lu Zhiyin and two others sat in the back row of the vehicle.
Lu Zhiyin sat by the window in the back row, Zhu was next to her, and Ouyang Qing was separated by Zhu.
Through the car window, Lu Zhiyin watched Leng Qing Qiu’s figure getting smaller outside. Only after Leng Qing Qiu’s figure completely disappeared did Lu Zhiyin look away.
She began to observe the interior of the bus.
The inner walls of the vehicle were a bit yellowed, with stained posters behind the seats and outlets available for phone charging.
The bus had dozens of seats and could accommodate many people. Logically, there should have been other scattered passengers.
However, the car was unusually quiet. There were only Lu Zhiyin, the two of them, a driver, and a ticket seller.
“There are so few people… is it because of the game’s setting?”
After experiencing so many things, her memory was a bit blurry. It seemed that traveling to other cities was indeed not possible in the game. If that was the case… it might be normal for no one to be in the bus.
“No.”
Ouyang Qing denied her thought.
“The world I created is a complete one. There are no people simply because this bus was temporarily compiled by me.”
Ouyang Qing’s tone was not friendly. She tightly gripped the turtle doll hanging from her waist.
“You don’t think your luck is so good that the bus would appear right in front of you to help you escape your mortal enemy.”
Ouyang Qing referred to Leng Qing Qiu as Lu Zhiyin’s mortal enemy.
Lu Zhiyin’s eyes darkened.
Compared to Leng Qing Qiu, Ouyang Qing was clearly more like her mortal enemy.
Everything was due to Ouyang Qing’s wicked sense of humor.
“Aren’t you going to thank me?”
Ouyang Qing didn’t read her mind. She looked at the fast-flashing scenery outside the window, her tone a bit muffled.
“…Thank you.”
Lu Zhiyin eventually thanked her.
But that was all.
The atmosphere in the bus turned cold.
Lu Zhiyin lay in the seat with her eyes closed, while Ouyang Qing blankly watched the scenery outside the window.
Zhu was stuck between them, the cold atmosphere making it hard for her to breathe.
“Sigh…”
Sighing, she had expected the journey not to be pleasant from the moment she knew Ouyang Qing would be on this trip.
She took out her phone from her pocket and opened the game she hadn’t played in a long time.
“…”
The sound of the game starting made Lu Zhiyin glance over.
On the game’s main interface, she saw a familiar nickname.
Ziyan? It seemed to be that name.
Feeling a bit dazed, Lu Zhiyin recalled the past.
When she first came to this world, she tried to make money by power leveling in the game. Ziyan was her first and only client.
So, they had already met.
“Senior?”
Lu Zhiyin patted Zhu’s shoulder.
“Hmm? What’s wrong?”
Exiting the matching interface, Zhu looked at Lu Zhiyin.
“Do you still remember the Black Slave power leveling and escort you met in this game?”
Well… Lu Zhiyin’s low prices for power leveling made the term “Black Slave,” which carried a derogatory meaning, truly fitting.
“That was me.”
Lu Zhiyin narrowed her eyes, a slight smile on her lips.
This was a wonderful coincidence.
“Ah…”
Slightly opening her mouth, Zhu was stunned for a moment, then showed a look of sudden realization.
” Haha, so it was you. It seems there really is a fate between us.
In Zhu’s opinion, perhaps it was inevitable that she and Lu Zhiyin met because of the deity, but meeting so early was also a kind of fate.
“Speaking of which, I thought that little power leveling player was a bit dull back then, just like you.”
Zhu smiled and poked Lu Zhiyin’s forehead.
Lu Zhiyin shook her head, puffing out her cheeks in slight displeasure. After Zhu pinched her cheek, she deflated like a pufferfish.
“Pfft…”
With a snort, she burst into laughter.
Her bell-like laughter reached Zhu’s ears, brightening her mood which had been somber due to the oppressive atmosphere.
Ouyang Qing, on the other side, witnessed their interaction.
She felt inexplicably annoyed.
Taking off the doll hanging from her waist, she held the small turtle doll in her hand, rubbing its head with the other.
After rubbing the doll listlessly for a while, she looked at the happily conversing girls beside her, her mood did not improve at all; instead, it became more vexed.
“Let’s switch seats.”
She said so.
Without giving Lu Zhiyin and Zhu any room to refuse, after the words fell, the two were momentarily stunned. When they came to their senses, Ouyang Qing had already taken Zhu’s place.
“…?”
Zhu was a little confused for a moment. She couldn’t understand the meaning of Ouyang Qing’s actions.
As for Lu Zhiyin… Lu Zhiyin was the same as Zhu.
“…”
The smile on her lips fell, and Lu Zhiyin resumed her glum expression.
“…”
Ouyang Qing saw her expression change.
“Didn’t you say you wanted to go on a trip with me? What are you doing with that cold face all the time?”
Ouyang Qing was somewhat losing her patience.
“…”
Lu Zhiyin looked at Ouyang Qing. She thought for a moment and then gave her an ambiguous answer.
“You know what I really want to do.”
Lu Zhiyin was quite sure that Ouyang Qing knew her purpose.
As a deity, Ouyang Qing could read minds.
“…………”
After a long silence, Ouyang Qing grabbed Lu Zhiyin’s braid.
The gray-white long hair lay quietly in her palm. Lu Zhiyin wanted to pull her braid back, but she stopped due to Ouyang Qing’s silent words.
“You don’t want anything to happen to your beloved good friend, right? Whatever you want to do, please remember that it was you who suggested bringing me out. I think your attitude towards me needs to be better.”
The threatening words were directly etched into Lu Zhiyin’s mind.
She released her hand that was trying to pull back her long hair.
“Hoo…”
Lu Zhiyin took a deep breath, trying hard to calm herself down.
The attachments in the human world allow one to live, but these attachments also become one’s weakness.
Lu Zhiyin herself didn’t care if she lived or died anymore, but she couldn’t let anything happen to Zhu because of her.
She regretted it. She regretted bringing Zhu on this final trip. She shouldn’t have been so selfish.
“I’m sorry.”
Lu Zhiyin softened once again.
“Mhm, it’s good to know when you’re wrong and correct yourself.”
Humming softly, Ouyang Qing thought that threats were indeed more effective for Lu Zhiyin.
Of course, the prerequisite for threats to work was that the target had a weakness.
Recalling the way friends interacted in this world, Ouyang Qing pulled Lu Zhiyin closer and rested her head on Lu Zhiyin’s shoulder.
“…”
Lu Zhiyin’s body trembled slightly. She instinctively wanted to push Ouyang Qing away, but noticing Zhu not far away, she abandoned the idea.
“…You two are…”
Zhu looked at the two girls close together, hesitating to speak.
She couldn’t understand the cryptic conversation between Lu Zhiyin and Ouyang Qing. She could tell Lu Zhiyin was hiding something, but she could also guess that Lu Zhiyin wouldn’t tell her.
Lu Zhiyin, who disliked Ouyang Qing so much, was now letting Ouyang Qing get close to her. Zhu understood that Lu Zhiyin must have been threatened.
Zhu was very worried about Lu Zhiyin, but she couldn’t help in any way.
