Chapter 31: Meeting the Deity Again
As soon as she closed her eyes, Lu Zhiyin fell into a deep sleep amidst the haze. She had overestimated herself; clearly, she couldn’t stay awake when overcome with sleepiness.
Her body swayed back and forth, yet it felt utterly weak. Lu Zhiyin felt like a small boat on a stormy sea, rocking precariously and on the verge of sinking.
Her chest ached dully. In a non-existent sea, non-existent waves crashed against Lu Zhiyin, making her reach out her hand as if she were drowning.
Straining her eyes open, Lu Zhiyin found herself in a place she had no memory of.
An exquisite Western-style garden.
Neatly trimmed bushes formed a dense, emerald green wall, blocking anyone attempting to leave or enter.
In the center of the garden, a marble sculpture of a maiden stood quietly above a fountain, appearing solemn and majestic in the misty spray.
“…Is it another dream?”
Confused, Lu Zhiyin looked at herself. Currently, the school uniform she was wearing was intact, with no signs of damage. The bandages on her hands were also gone.
She pushed herself up with her hands and miraculously stood.
Looking around, her wheelchair was nowhere to be seen.
“…”
Staring blankly at her palms, Lu Zhiyin hadn’t felt the sensation of standing on her own legs for a long time.
This long-lost sense of stability felt like a lifetime away, and it took her a while to collect herself.
Wiping the corners of her eyes, she couldn’t help but shed tears.
“A dream… even in a dream, being able to stand up is wonderful,”
she murmured, wiping away the tears.
She walked around the statue and slowly proceeded across the soft lawn. The feeling of her feet touching the ground had never felt so wonderful.
Beyond the statue, a pavilion built of white bricks came into view.
In the center of the pavilion, two green vines hung down, combined with a wooden board to form a delicate swing.
A girl in a white robe sat on the swing, kicking her legs. Under the sunlight, the blue veins on the back of her feet were clearly visible.
Behind the girl were folded white wings, and a golden halo rested on her head.
Lu Zhiyin couldn’t clearly see the girl’s face, but she recognized her. This person… was the culprit who had turned her into a woman and sent her into the butter world, the so-called deity…
“…”
Looking at the person before her, nameless anger surged in Lu Zhiyin’s chest.
She clenched her fists and quickly walked towards the so-called deity, wanting to pull her down and give her a good beating.
This was probably the first time she had such a violent thought?
Unfortunately, she couldn’t get close to the so-called deity.
“Yo, we meet again.”
Noticing Lu Zhiyin approaching, the so-called deity looked up. She gestured downwards with her hand, and Lu Zhiyin’s legs stopped obeying her and stood in place.
With a playful smile, the deity maiden’s expression was hardly fitting for the word “deity.” She was neither majestic nor solemn, only appearing malicious.
“How have you been these past few days? Happy?”
These words were obviously rhetorical. As the one who had thrown Lu Zhiyin into this world, how could the deity maiden not know Lu Zhiyin’s current situation?
Although she hadn’t been beaten to the brink of death or sexually assaulted, her situation could still be described as tragic.
However, in the deity maiden’s eyes, it was still not enough. She simply couldn’t stand Lu Zhiyin, a person who was so wicked. Even though Lu Zhiyin was only wicked in games and had never done anything bad in reality.
The deity maiden was not a qualified deity.
Or rather, she had just taken over the responsibility of being a deity from her parents and was still unsure of what she should be doing, merely acting on whims with her divine power.
Compared to Lu Zhiyin, she was the more wicked one. It was a pity that those in high positions rarely reflected on their mistakes, and the deity maiden wouldn’t realize her own wrongdoing.
“You… you bastard, send me back.”
Not wanting to directly answer the deity maiden’s somewhat provocative question, Lu Zhiyin was solely focused on going home.
This place didn’t belong to her, and this tragic life didn’t belong to her either.
“No, the game rules were set from the beginning. You must achieve the perfect ending of the game.”
Her expression turned cold, and the deity maiden walked barefoot in front of Lu Zhiyin.
She was about the same height as Lu Zhiyin, who had been transformed into a woman, but her aura was far beyond what Lu Zhiyin could match.
As a deity, she appeared somewhat immature, but even an immature deity was still a deity.
“…You want me to romance those lunatics? How is that possible? Why, why do you have to take away my life? Just because my way of playing games isn’t to your liking? Clearly, clearly, it’s not just me who does this… If you care about the game’s protagonist, why don’t you go find the game’s producer, why come to me? I still have parents, I still have family, I don’t have time to stay here and play a tragic disabled person.”
Looking at the deity maiden standing so close, Lu Zhiyin’s emotions exploded. She leaned forward, grabbed the deity maiden’s collar, and questioned the bastard before her.
As her words fell, a flash of white light appeared before Lu Zhiyin’s eyes, followed by a sharp pain in her hand.
She involuntarily released her hands, and her body was pushed down by the deity maiden, landing on the ground.
“I don’t care how innocent you are. I just know I don’t like you. As a deity, I should be able to deal with mortals like you as I please. Also, show some respect. Now, at least you still have hope of going home. If I get unhappy, you can prepare to spend your entire life in this world.”
Very displeased with Lu Zhiyin’s actions, the deity maiden’s tone was arrogant and cold. She placed one foot on Lu Zhiyin’s chest, looking down at the person she had sent to this terrible world.
“…”
Lu Zhiyin said nothing more, only glaring fiercely at the bastard before her, looking like she wanted to cut the deity maiden into a thousand pieces.
Lu Zhiyin thought that if she had the chance, she would definitely dissect this detestable bastard, chop her into pieces, and feed her to the dogs. Before this, she had never harbored such malicious thoughts.
Unfortunately, Lu Zhiyin’s gaze did not affect the deity maiden in the slightest. As if finding the gaze rather uninteresting, the girl lifted her foot and stopped looking at Lu Zhiyin.
“I’ve already been good to you, allowing you to see the affection levels of the female leads. Don’t push your luck. Continue this romance strategy game properly. The time flow in the two worlds is different, so hurry up and romance the female leads. If you’re fast enough, perhaps only a day or two will have passed when you return.”
Casually sealing Lu Zhiyin’s fate, the deity maiden once again created a bottomless void, expelling Lu Zhiyin from this space.
After a shift from reality to illusion, Lu Zhiyin returned to her original position, on the sofa at Leng Qing Qiu’s home.
