Chapter 66: Detained After School
Shortly after Long Qinxin took her to the classroom door, the class bell rang. Lu Zhiyin returned to her seat, holding the wet clothes she had changed out of.
Soon, the invigilator came in to distribute the test papers and then patrolled the aisle as usual.
This subject was mathematics. Although some questions were very difficult for Lu Zhiyin, the rest were still within her knowledge range.
Unfortunately, her right hand hurt a lot because of Leng Qing Qiu, and she couldn’t even hold a pen steady. Not only was her speed in answering questions slow, but her handwriting was also crooked and extremely ugly.
The invigilator, passing by behind her, naturally noticed her handwriting and disdainfully made some sounds.
Lu Zhiyin could do nothing about it; she could only continue to write the papers silently.
By the end of this exam, Lu Zhiyin had not had any communication with Leng Qing Qiu, because the next exam started soon.
This time it was history. Lu Zhiyin knew very little about the history of this world, so she simply answered the multiple-choice questions randomly and left the rest blank.
She then put the papers aside, leaned on the desk, and prepared to take a nap.
Even though she had changed into dry clothes, her brain was still groggy, and her hair was still wet. Instead of wasting time on things she didn’t know, she decided to sleep for a while to prepare for the afternoon.
Thinking this way, Lu Zhiyin quickly fell asleep and slept through lunchtime. By the time she woke up, it was already the last exam of the day.
After this exam, it would probably be time to go home.
Her mind was still not clear. She dazedly finished the paper and then leaned on the table again.
She didn’t lift her head again until the dismissal bell rang.
The whole day, while seemingly ordinary, wasn’t entirely so. If one were to say it wasn’t ordinary, the truly stimulating events were concentrated in the morning.
“…Achoo…”
Lu Zhiyin sneezed and quietly waited for the invigilator to collect the papers.
“Tsk…”
The invigilator looked at Lu Zhiyin’s lazy demeanor and once again made a disdainful sound before collecting the papers in front of Lu Zhiyin.
“Zhiyin, how do you think you did?”
After the invigilator left, Leng Qing Qiu nudged her with her elbow.
“Ah… probably very bad… After all, I was absent for one subject, and my condition in other subjects was also poor.”
With a dazed look, Lu Zhiyin touched her hair.
Most of the morning and afternoon had passed, her hair had dried, and her clothes were dry, but the feeling of being soaked and drowned this morning had not dissipated, lingering in Lu Zhiyin’s mind.
“…”
Seeing Lu Zhiyin’s low mood, Leng Qing Qiu felt guilty again. After all, her current state was almost entirely her own fault.
Thinking about how to compensate her, she figured just giving her money would be enough.
With this thought, Leng Qing Qiu felt relieved.
As long as she could give Lu Zhiyin money, perhaps everything could be forgiven? After all, money was what she needed most.
Thinking this, Leng Qing Qiu stood up when the invigilator had finished collecting the papers and the students began to pour out. She pushed Lu Zhiyin’s wheelchair and followed the crowd out of the classroom.
“You’re Lu Zhiyin?”
Just as she was about to leave the classroom, the invigilator, holding the test papers, patted Lu Zhiyin on the shoulder.
“…Yes, I am…”
Turning her head slowly, looking at the invigilator in front of her, Lu Zhiyin could roughly guess what he was going to say.
Perhaps, detained after school?
Thinking of this word, Lu Zhiyin felt a headache. She remembered that in the game, the protagonist didn’t have any problems the first few times they were detained, and now, she could only hope that at least in this aspect, it would be consistent with the game.
She tried her best to remain calm, but her panic could never be completely hidden.
“…Tsk.”
Looking at the timid Lu Zhiyin in front of him, the invigilator felt even more disdainful.
She was already so scared without him saying anything?
Shaking his head, the invigilator spoke, and his words were indeed as Lu Zhiyin had predicted.
“You were absent for one exam today, so you need to be detained to reflect with the Principal. Go to the Principal’s office yourself later.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the invigilator left潇洒ly.
Leng Qing Qiu continued to push Lu Zhiyin forward. After leaving the classroom and entering the corridor, the annoying sound of rain became more apparent.
Compared to this morning, the rain seemed to have no intention of stopping.
Lu Zhiyin wondered if the city would flood if it continued like this. Anyway, such a thing had never appeared in the game, so Lu Zhiyin didn’t know if the city had complete drainage measures.
The cold wind was still blowing incessantly, just like in the morning. However, Lu Zhiyin’s clothes were now completely dry, so this wind did not make her as uncomfortable as it had in the morning.
In the classroom next door, a familiar black-haired figure walked out.
Seeing Long Qinxin, Leng Qing Qiu was still displeased as usual, but because Lu Zhiyin had to be detained, she couldn’t quickly leave with Lu Zhiyin.
“Classmate Zhiyin… good afternoon.”
Seeing Lu Zhiyin, Long Qinxin’s mood seemed to improve instantly. She almost ran to Lu Zhiyin and greeted her.
“Good afternoon.”
Looking at Long Qinxin in front of her, Lu Zhiyin smiled and replied politely.
This seemingly normal interaction still made Leng Qing Qiu feel uncomfortable.
“Not good at all, Zhiyin has to be detained later.”
Thinking of something, Leng Qing Qiu blurted out.
Perhaps she already felt that money could make Lu Zhiyin forgive all her actions, so she no longer cared about her feelings?
Leng Qing Qiu increasingly felt that she was a scumbag.
“Don’t you know why classmate Zhiyin has to be detained?”
Giving Leng Qing Qiu a fierce glare, she was still bothered by Leng Qing Qiu leaving Lu Zhiyin alone in the corridor.
Her words had some effect. Leng Qing Qiu seemed to have been struck at her sore spot, and her spirit suddenly deflated.
As she said, Lu Zhiyin had to be detained almost entirely due to her.
“…Um… can you two stop arguing?”
Looking at the two glaring at each other, Lu Zhiyin weakly spoke.
Although it seemed that Long Qinxin had the upper hand, Lu Zhiyin was not sure if Leng Qing Qiu would become enraged and hit someone.
It would be bad if she hurt Long Qinxin.
Although these two guys probably wouldn’t fight because of her.
“…Classmate Long Qinxin, can you accompany me to the Principal’s office?”
After hesitating for a moment, Lu Zhiyin looked at Long Qinxin.
“Sure… coincidentally, I also have to be detained. I was late for the first exam this morning.”
As Long Qinxin finished speaking, Lu Zhiyin had to sigh mentally that she and Long Qinxin were truly fellow sufferers.
As for Leng Qing Qiu, she had lost to Long Qinxin in verbal arguments twice today and really didn’t want to follow Long Qinxin around anymore.
“Then, Zhiyin, I’ll wait for you at the school gate.”
Looking at Lu Zhiyin and Long Qinxin, Leng Qing Qiu returned to the classroom to get Lu Zhiyin’s wet clothes and a spare umbrella that had been placed in the classroom earlier.
