Chapter Twenty-Five: This is Clearly a Red-Clothed Female Ghost
Inside the dim room, neither of them spoke further.
Qin Liu’s gaze fell on the heavy rain outside the window, while Bai Anting used her flashlight to search for any hidden corpses within the room.
The eerie and strange environment, coupled with the pattering rain outside, made the atmosphere extremely oppressive.
Bai Anting’s flashlight beam swept across the room.
As the place had been unoccupied for a long time, and the houses were mostly made of rammed earth, weeds and moss had already grown all over the ground.
The outside world was completely obscured by the torrential rain. The dimly visible houses were like monsters wandering in the rain, and the dark, gaping doorway was like a monstrous mouth ready to devour living beings.
Although this house was a single-story rammed earth building, it was quite large.
There were five rooms in total. In the living room, there was a blackened and moldy round table, and the chairs next to it had long since rotted into pieces.
Looking out of the window, one could vaguely see some old park facilities not far away. A rusty, weathered children’s swing was being battered by the heavy rain.
A strangely shaped bear statue stood tall in the downpour, as if waving a greeting to Bai Anting.
Seeing that Bai Anting had finished exploring the living room, Qin Liu said to her.
“There are two more bedrooms here. I’ll keep watch for you.”
Qin Liu stood by a very small window, from where she could see into the two bedrooms. If Bai Anting encountered any danger, she could provide timely rescue.
The sound of the wind and rain grew louder, occasionally accompanied by flashes of lightning.
The dazzling lightning illuminated the grim and eerie house.
As the lightning flashed, Qin Liu discovered…
A person’s shadow was clinging to the bedroom window.
Before she could even begin to process it, another flash of lightning tore through the night sky.
This time, Qin Liu finally saw the true face of the shadow clearly.
It was a swollen and rotting human face, so repulsive that it made one feel sick to the stomach. Under the illumination of the lightning, this person appeared terrifying and bizarre.
What was even more chilling was that it wasn’t just this window; every window of the rammed earth house was occupied by a bloated, decaying figure.
These figures’ gazes seemed to be searching for Bai Anting inside the house.
After all, Bai Anting’s mobile phone indicated that if a ghost saw her, she would die on the spot.
Qin Liu dared not gamble whether this was true or not.
The top priority now was to hide Bai Anting, to prevent them from seeing her.
However, this single-story rammed earth house had no place for Bai Anting to hide.
There wasn’t even a curtain to conceal her body!
Fortunately, the bedroom Bai Anting was currently searching had no windows.
But the problem was that with so many eyes, it would only be a matter of time before they found Bai Anting.
What to do, what to do…
Qin Liu was extremely anxious. She looked at the lantern in her hand and took a deep breath.
“Don’t…”
“No, I wasn’t planning to use it.”
Before the black book could utter its warning, Qin Liu held up her hand to stop it.
As the lantern’s light illuminated the room, the girl slowly walked out from the corner to a more conspicuous spot. Upon seeing the light, some of the fierce ghosts clinging to the windows could not help but turn their gazes towards the girl.
These fierce ghosts, drowned to death, were like beasts with no reason whatsoever.
Their water-filled brains were filled only with a craving for flesh and blood.
Even fear had little left for them.
Qin Liu stood in the center of the living room.
At this moment, she felt a slight fear in her heart.
But in order not to be possessed by the so-called mission of the guide, she took a deep breath and suppressed this fear.
Then, the girl spoke in a deep voice.
“Alright guys, everyone’s attention on me!”
The girl’s voice, amidst the sound of the pouring rain, was remarkably loud, causing all the fierce ghosts who were still searching for Bai Anting to turn their attention to her.
Under the gaze of so many eyes, Qin Liu remained composed.
She was neither humble nor overbearing, nor was she flustered. She raised her hands.
“I have an announcement to make…”
“…?”
Bai Anting, inside the bedroom, was also bewildered by the commotion.
She poked her head out from behind the door and saw several swollen drowned corpses focusing their gazes on Qin Liu.
Not a single one was looking at Bai Anting.
The girl was greatly surprised and then understood Qin Liu’s intention.
Her heart was full of gratitude. She quickly hid behind the door to avoid being seen by the ghosts.
Qin Liu paused for a moment, then slowly clenched the two fists she had raised, leaving only her slender, white index fingers between them.
“You are all a bunch of idiots!”
Qin Liu’s voice resounded, causing all the fierce ghosts present to fall silent.
Their meager brains took a full half a minute to comprehend the meaning of Qin Liu’s words.
Following that, the horde of fierce ghosts, like maddened beasts, crawled into the house from various windows.
Seeing this scene, Qin Liu could not help but gasp.
Liu Haoyu had told her before that many fierce ghosts were irrational and did not experience fear, so they would naturally not be afraid of her.
Facing the fierce ghosts rushing from all directions, Qin Liu did not hesitate. She grabbed the embroidered shoes and swung them towards the face of one of the ghosts.
As the ancient saying goes.
When fighting a brawl, remember not to distribute your attacks evenly.
Qin Liu naturally understood this principle, so she fiercely struck the head of one of the fierce ghosts.
The embroidered shoes, seemingly harmless, shattered like a watermelon when struck against the ghost’s head, splattering everywhere.
Red, white, and yellow splattered everywhere.
Facing such fierce power, even these brainless fierce ghosts were startled.
Qin Liu took the opportunity to perform a cranial surgery on a few more fierce ghosts.
The more she used these shoes, the more excited she became, and the more smoothly she handled them, even her fatigue completely disappeared.
Even the faint light emanating from the lantern in her hand seemed incredibly bright at that moment.
In the darkness, the girl held a lantern in one hand and an embroidered shoe in the other.
She wiped the bloodstains from her face, and the dim light made her smile appear incredibly grotesque.
It was even a little terrifying.
The windows in the room disappeared at this moment, and the original wooden door turned into a blood-stained red door.
Just as Qin Liu was about to continue her rampage, the black book at her waist reached out, grabbed her, and dragged her into the bedroom.
None of the ghosts in the living room dared to stop them.
They were just brainless, not foolish.
“I haven’t killed enough yet.”
Qin Liu’s voice became unusually hollow. Her smile, combined with her vacant eyes, made the black book and Bai Anting tremble with fear.
The black book even sprouted two legs and crawled onto Bai Anting’s body, scrambling away.
It was afraid.
But the problem was, Bai Anting was also afraid!
It truly lived up to the saying, people of the same ilk flock together.
Qin Liu was not a cute little ghost, but a red-clothed female ghost who would kill your entire family!
The person and the book hid in the corner, shivering.
Just then, perhaps because Bai Anting had pressed some kind of switch, the person and the book tilted backward and fell in.
Hearing Bai Anting’s scream, Qin Liu’s previously vacant eyes regained a trace of clarity.
She hadn’t lost her mind from the beginning and knew what she had just done.
But she didn’t have time to think too much. She quickly passed through the hidden door and pursued.
The interior of the hidden door was pitch black. Qin Liu could vaguely hear something continuously rolling downwards.
Judging by the sound, they must have fallen quite hard, but with the black book’s protection, they should be fine.
Qin Liu, in her soul form, descended through the stairs to the lowest level of the basement.
Bai Anting’s feet were in the air, and her upper body lay on the ground. After rolling so many times, her eyes had turned into spiral patterns.
She groggily climbed up, and when she saw Qin Liu appear before her, she almost fainted from fright.
Fortunately, Qin Liu reacted in time.
“I don’t kill people, I only kill ghosts. I am a really good ghost!”
As Qin Liu spoke, she casually stuffed back the soul that was drifting out of Bai Anting’s mouth.
The impact of the previous scene had caused significant psychological damage to Bai Anting’s fragile mind.
She suddenly felt that Liu Haoyu, with his mask on, appeared so handsome and dashing.
Bai Anting pushed away the black book that was clutching her head.
Even a book that could grow hands would be accepted by Bai Anting with peace of mind now.
“Bai Anting, look, look!”
Before Bai Anting could breathe a sigh of relief, Qin Liu’s excited voice echoed through the basement.
“There’s a coffin here!”
Bai Anting followed Qin Liu’s gaze and saw a coffin as red as blood lying quietly in the center of the basement.
