Chapter 102 Miss Green Dragon
Ji Ma had a strong impression of Miss Green Dragon.
She recalled a time before she became the Demon Lord when she was deceived by a green dragon disguised as a sweet, innocent silver dragon. After that, she recklessly caught Miss Green Dragon and locked her here with black magic to guard her own treasure vault.
Now, it was Miss Green Dragon’s turn to make use of her abilities again. The key that could unlock her bindings was held by George.
It could indeed break the magical restraints on Miss Green Dragon, but it would cause the labyrinth to close, forcing all intruders to leave.
Ji Ma initially didn’t believe anyone could open her account at the Freyn Brothers Bank, so she casually used that key to pretend it was the key to her treasure vault.
Oh right.
Ji Ma also remembered that the treasure door known to Miss Green Dragon was fake.
As her recollection ended, Ji Ma couldn’t help but lament her powerful past life, reining in her thoughts to scrutinize the suddenly appearing Miss Green Dragon.
She had been absent for so long, so she must have spent quite a bit of time on her makeup.
Before the two of them stood Miss Green Dragon, an exquisitely beautiful woman untouched by dirt. She was tall and possessed an oval face, exuding an inherent arrogance that was hard to conceal, with deep-set features and a pair of elegantly curved elven ears peeking out from under her hair. Her emerald hair, which flowed down to her calves, was adorned with blooming pink flowers.
Beneath her delicate collarbone, a cluster of green leaves supported a pair of breasts that perfectly complemented her overall beauty. Her cloak was made up of several flower petals.
All of her clothing was woven from green leaves and petals, and she generously exposed large areas of her snow-white skin, revealing a flat stomach and a pair of long, slender thighs, her skin emitting a faint green glow.
The green leaves covering her private parts shook gently, firmly capturing Ji Ma’s gaze. Oddly, Ji Ma felt that if everything were fully exposed, it would somehow seem less appealing; she couldn’t refuse the allure of this half-exposed charm, especially paired with those long legs.
Miss Green Dragon’s lake-green eyes shifted slightly as she glanced at Ji Ma, shooting her a sharp, warning glance that pierced right through her. The might of the dragon weighed down upon Ji Ma.
It seemed Miss Green Dragon couldn’t accept being admired by a kobold.
Ji Ma recalled her “identity” and averted her gaze, pretending to be afraid, lowering her kobold head and trembling all over.
She really wanted to lift her cover and, ahem, teach this proud Miss Green Dragon a lesson. By the way, she didn’t know where the virgin was looking.
Ji Ma quietly glanced at George, and although he wore a helmet that looked like an upside-down bucket, she still easily noticed those keen eyes observing her.
Breasts? Legs? Face? Or wanting it all?
As Ji Ma speculated about where George’s gaze was directed, she followed his line of sight and then discovered a thick, light green dragon tail beneath the hem of the cloak and hair. Its color was similar to her hair, and coupled with her other eye-catching features, Ji Ma had not noticed it until now.
So he really is a tail enthusiast! Who cares about long legs, an oval face, or a graceful body curve when he was so focused on that.
George’s obsession with tails reshaped Ji Ma’s understanding of him once more.
She continued to keep her head down while George remained silent until Miss Green Dragon interrupted, saying:
“Mortals, do you think I am beautiful in your eyes?”
“Very beautiful,” George’s calm voice came from behind the bucket helmet.
Ji Ma felt an inexplicable pang in her heart.
“Thank you.”
A hint of arrogance shrouded Miss Green Dragon’s face as she casually flicked a lock of long hair behind her pointed ear, “I was worried that our aesthetic values were very different.”
How annoying! The last time you tricked me, you weren’t even this beautiful in your true form… Why does this virgin get to meet such beautiful girls that align with his preferences, just because he’s a virgin?
Ji Ma felt even more acidity building up inside her.
“I don’t want to make a deal with you,” George said, “You are evil; the books say that green dragons are cunning and good at schemes.”
“Heh, you read a lot.” Miss Green Dragon’s light laughter made her seem even more enchanting. “I guess you read ‘The Monster Compendium’ by the Coastal Wizard’s Society, right?”
“Yes.”
“The author of ‘The Monster Compendium,’ Bitter Wind, wished to have a green dragon as a lover but failed in his pursuit. Mortals always like to chase things of beauty they cannot attain,” she analyzed. “Even the wisest among us can be swayed by emotion. Though his evaluation of my kind in the book isn’t entirely wrong, you must admit that there is some bias, right?”
George replied, “Yes.”
“Then why won’t you believe in me?”
“Green dragons are good at schemes and tricks,” George said, “I have detected your good and evil. You are evil. Coupled with the rumors, you are not trustworthy.”
Miss Green Dragon let out a soft laugh and said:
“It seems you are quite the paladin. Have you ever tried to detect the good and evil of your kind on the streets?”
“I have, and two or three out of ten are evil.”
“The rumors say that you use detection to identify evil, and if you find it, you draw your sword to strike.”
“It’s a misunderstanding,” George said. “As long as no crimes are committed and there is no evidence, we only offer verbal counsel.”
“You don’t seem like the type to go with the flow. Why do you believe the rumors?” Miss Green Dragon asked. “I can’t deny that my kin have a bad reputation and have done many evil deeds, but I am different. I have encountered quite a few bad humans; some are robbers, some are tricksters, and some want to ride on my back, day or night. Can I claim that all humans are bad, including you?”
George replied, “I feel sorry for your experiences. I can understand your bias.”
“Then do you admit that yours is bias? How many green dragons have you seen with your own eyes?”
“Just you.”
“Then why are you so determined?”
George had no answer.
Miss Green Dragon continued, “If an ordinary villager detected as evil fell into the water, would you rescue them?”
“Of course.”
“And what about me?”
Miss Green Dragon didn’t show a pleading expression on her face, but when she pointed to her chest with her finger, even Ji Ma felt a surge of heroism.
“I wouldn’t, you are strong, and I wouldn’t want to pay for my actions,” George said. “The books say green dragons are good at tricks and schemes.”
Miss Green Dragon looked at George in silence.
Heh, silly dragon, you have no idea how resolute George is.
Ji Ma felt a bit happy, her tail wagging in delight.
But looking at it from a personal interest standpoint, George should agree to rescue Miss Green Dragon. That way, she could gain her freedom. She believed that George would promise to let her go.
As for why George did not trust Miss Green Dragon, Ji Ma could roughly guess the answer.
Because Miss Green Dragon’s first words were lies; she seemed unaware that paladins could discern lies. She had not earned George’s trust from the very start. Ji Ma couldn’t help but recall her own first words when she first saw George after hatching from her egg, which were partial truths.
Tsk, in terms of schemes, you can’t outdo me, Miss Green Dragon.
Ji Ma thought, quietly taking a step back to stand behind George. She spread her fingers and gently patted her chest, drawing Miss Green Dragon’s attention. This gesture indicated to her that George’s belief was in the God of Dawn.
She then pointed to her mouth, moving her lips as if speaking.
The dawn symbolizes enlightenment out of darkness, and lies are viewed as a form of darkness by the faithful. If her theological knowledge was sufficient, Miss Green Dragon could understand what Ji Ma was trying to convey.
That is, George could see through lies.
Throughout the exchange, Miss Green Dragon remained unfazed, seemingly oblivious to Ji Ma’s strange behavior as a kobold.
She said:
“I know where the Demon Lord’s treasure lies. I am very familiar with the kobolds in the labyrinth; they worship me and hold bizarre worship ceremonies daily, believing that I have granted them strength, which is quite foolish. I am certain that they do not understand the true Demon Lord’s treasure; they might end up leading you to a pile of buried leftover bones.”
George remained silent, continuing to listen.
“Back in the day, I peered into the location of the treasure door set by the Demon Lord Ji Ma.”
That was deliberately shown for you to see.
“I promise that as long as you unlock my bindings, I will take you to find the Demon Lord’s treasure.”
George still did not speak.
“… And my friendship.”
Miss Green Dragon’s soft voice carried a hint of gentleness.
“Deal.”
“Thank you.”
“This is just a transaction.”
“Demon Lord Ji Ma locked me here, draining my power to maintain his labyrinth and killing countless unwitting and deliberate intruders.” Miss Green Dragon said, “Every day is torture; if you didn’t come, I would eventually go mad.”
Tsk tsk, learning to use partial truths so quickly to create the illusion of kindness. It sounds as if you would be saddened by the deaths in the labyrinth and suffer as well.
Ji Ma thought.
George said, “That doesn’t sound evil.”
“Can people distinguish good and evil, neutral and evil, in a simplistic way?” Miss Green Dragon said, “Locked away here for so many years, witnessing people being harmed by the Demon Lord’s traps is a form of empathy, isn’t it?”
After saying this, she stepped beside George. Not too close, not too distant, creating neither discomfort nor detachment. The fragrance of flowers from her body naturally wafted into both Ji Ma and George’s noses.
So fragrant.
Ji Ma took a deep breath.
“I hope you can have more empathy,” George said. “Perhaps I may meet a kind green dragon.”
Miss Green Dragon’s face revealed a faint smile for the first time as she walked ahead, saying, “Perhaps I have some doubts that require your answers. Shall we not introduce ourselves to each other? I did promise to offer you a dragon’s friendship.”
“As long as you promise not to do evil and sign a contract under the God of Dawn as a witness,” George said, “I would be satisfied.”
“Do you think that’s possible?”
“Unrealistic.”
“But if you could show me what true kindness is, perhaps I would consider changing my values. What do you call that? Redemption?”
George said, “I am George the Hammer, from the Holy Hall. Nice to meet you.”
Miss Green Dragon smoothly pronounced her name: “I am Clymanthalia Olivya Huayu.”
It was a name so long it sounded like a spell when said aloud.
How about just calling her Cui Hua?
Ji Ma secretly scoffed.
“I can’t remember such long names.”
“Considering the brains of mortals,” Miss Green Dragon gently shook her head, causing the flowers in her hair to sway as well. She said, “You can call me by my nickname, Cuilisi. Only my parents know.”
Tsk, she really knows how to close the gap. Why hadn’t I seen you flirt like this when I was the Demon Lord?
Ji Ma raised her hand and looked down at the ground, saying:
“Strong bucket warrior, since the great… great Dragon Mother has guided you, could you… let me go?”
George said, “Okay.”
Ji Ma sighed in relief. On one hand, she was gaining her freedom to finally search for her treasure vault. On the other hand, out of sight, out of mind, preventing herself from feeling jealous of George’s relationships with women to the point of exasperation.
At that moment, Miss Green Dragon spoke up, saying:
“What’s that?”
“Another strong being, a kobold brought by them. It seems they are teammates. I don’t know why she was abandoned.”
“I find her rather strange, somewhat unique. From her attire, she might be a shaman from the kobold tribe,” Miss Green Dragon said, “Perhaps she knows some secrets of Demon Lord Ji Ma. The Demon Lord is inherently cunning, and I cannot guarantee whether the treasure door I found is real or not, so let’s bring her along.”
George said, “That makes sense.”
Damn! You should have been thrown into a group of orcs back then, letting your offspring guard the labyrinth!
Ji Ma suppressed her anger and said, “But… you promised.”
“What I promised was that you would take me to find the treasure door,” George was very patient with the kobold. “But you have been slacking off along the way.”
Isn’t it because Miss Green Dragon took time to put on her makeup? Do you think I wanted to take the long way around? I got lost too, okay?
Ji Ma lowered her kobold head and followed behind George as they walked together.
