Chapter 125: The Autumn of Adolf (Twelve)
In the empire of the mortal realm, everything turned to dust.
The voice of the Eternal Chosen echoed from the helmets adorned with countless blasphemous carvings, the tone dull yet clear to the ears.
The Eternal Chosen Marus challenged the Emperor’s champion marshal in a one-on-one duel, under the protection of the Imperial Guard, ultimately killing the champion. The champion, wielding one of the twelve swords passed down since the founding of the empire, actually saw his sword break under Marus’s terrifying onslaught.
“The next is you.”
The Eternal Chosen pointed at the one-armed Emperor, who clutched a bell picked up from the battlefield. This bell had killed several Eternal Chosen; if he defeated the Emperor, it would be enough to shatter the spirit of all the resisting Imperial forces present and slay their intangible bodies.
For throughout history, the Hammer of Sigma had never been defeated and had only been snatched and desecrated by the Eternal Chosen.
“Protect the Emperor!”
The Imperial Guard brandished their spears, forming a shield around the Emperor.
George instantly recognized the crux of the situation: “We cannot allow him to perform the Hammer of Sigma!” Jenna, clear the battlefield.
Jima shook a bottle filled with wriggling worms, ready to speak harshly, demonstrating to the Eternal Chosen how she corrupted her beloved potion. She introduced the concoction, capable of maximizing potential and devouring muscle—without the murderous intent, it crossed hundreds of meters, lunging towards Jima.
The Eternal Chosen sidestepped, his brilliant sword pointing directly at Jima, making her feel as if the sword’s tip were pressing against her forehead.
“Do you dare?!”
At the same time, several strands of painful power floated from him, piercing into Jima’s heart in an instant.
Jima suddenly understood; this Eternal Chosen could foretell the future. He saw and heard her introducing the potion, so she decided to skip the introduction.
A satisfied smile grew on Jima’s face as she said, “Why wouldn’t I?” and let the potion bottle drop in front of the dragon head. The magic dragon Marvo lunged forward, biting and shattering the bottle, a fiery sensation spreading from her tongue as the poison was released; it was painful, forcing her to bite her own tongue, but for the sake of her ambition, the magic dragon Marvo bit down hard and swallowed.
Boom!
The Eternal Chosen unexpectedly abandoned the Hammer of Sigma, leaping into the air amidst an explosion, his feet shattering stone as he landed on the back of a demonized scorpion-lion. This fierce flying beast roared defiantly at him, and the Eternal Chosen slammed a hammer down on its head, sending it flying backward. The demon scorpion let out a furious roar and charged directly at Jima.
The effects of the potion had taken hold; the magic dragon Marvo’s body surged with power, muscles bulging, veins writhing like restless snakes beneath her scales. She unleashed a horrifying dragon breath toward the swarming annihilation insects, blood spraying from her mouth.
Jima clutched her hands, tears flowing, and said, “Hehe, the Eternal Chosen is truly a person of passion; for the sake of ambition, he even forsakes his own ambition.”
George seized the moment: “Jima, take the dragon and fly to the church of Sigma!”
That was the last stronghold of the imperial army, where their forces and soldiers remained.
Jima immediately gripped the lightning-branch spear, vigorously cracking it against the metal rod on the dragon’s head. With a howl and tremble, her will to resist was shattered once again.
“Fly toward the church and land!”
The lightning branch spear shouted, “Kill! Kill them!”
Due to the dramatic circumstance, Jima did not scold the weapon.
The sky had darkened; the sun had completely set, and the stars vanished into the night due to the fear of battle, deep black.
The glowing orb of heated light below illuminated the dragon’s belly as Marvo flew, flapping her wings alongside numerous doomsday knights, charging toward the Eternal Chosen, who rode the demonized scorpion-lion, brandishing his brilliant long sword and charging towards them.
What confidence! I like enemies who are full of personal heroism.
As George spoke, wings of light burst from his back: “Jima, my dear, you should be the cautious one.” Upon saying this, she raised the lightning branch spear, transforming it into a rifle, self-aiming at the Eternal Chosen, lowering the sights to target his mount.
“Dragon, tell me the enemy’s position.”
“At your command, my king.”
The magic dragon Marvo took a deep breath and unleashed a black fireball the size of a three-story building toward the Eternal Chosen. The moment it descended, the space warped abruptly, and the black fireball split in two, passing by him.
Eve Frostleaf rode steadily on the shaking dragon’s back as arrows whisked across the sky, embedding themselves in the demonized scorpion-lion’s body, exploding one after another, causing it to wail in agony. Jima fired as well, bullets striking the formidable flying beast, which finally could not endure and crashed to the ground.
“Rise!”
The Eternal Chosen kicked, and the demonized scorpion-lion exploded into fragments, killing the demon warrior, who flew like a bullet toward his former loyal mount.
“Bang, bang, bang, bang!”
He shouted, “Vongvor! It’s me!”
Jima yelled, “One more breath of fire!”
The magic dragon Marvo opened her dragon mouth, her tongue already dried and full of holes, bleeding constantly. Her gums were scorched by the soul-burning fire. Bearing the pain, she tightened her throat, releasing a thin dragon breath.
The dragon breath was fine and gentle, like a laser; the Eternal Chosen had nowhere to dodge and could only raise his shield. The dragon breath erupted before his tower shield, the flames scorching the Eternal Chosen; he felt like a space capsule entering the atmosphere.
Only then did George leap from the dragon’s head, swooping down like a falcon towards the Eternal Chosen, colorful sword lights streaking across the sky in a holy cut. They clashed in the air with blade against blade, and even the tough Eternal Chosen could not withstand such an attack; he fell like a meteor towards the ground.
Reluctant, the Eternal Chosen flapped his wings of light around him, slashing from all sides. He blocked his third eye with his shield while George attacked everywhere else. The incredibly resilient armor bent and cracked, blindingly hot from the extreme pressure, emitting white smoke.
The magic dragon Marvo carried Jima past the Eternal Chosen, where Jima couldn’t see the battle condition. The stern magic dragon Marvo landed, her limbs trembling violently against the ground, and once she came to a stop, the many foot soldiers could not wait to jump off her back.
As Marvo turned her head, Jima saw that the Eternal Chosen was already half-kneeling on the ground, covered in black, pursuing George. The surrounding Chosen ones, wielding gleaming long halberds, rushed forward, surrounding their Eternal Chosen.
Despite such despicable tactics, even goblins shed tears, but Jima succeeded. Seeing the Eternal Chosen injured and smoking, the imperial soldiers erupted in loud cheers, their morale soaring.
Originally pondering how to clear the guards surrounding the Eternal Chosen and beat him to death, the Eternal Chosen instead charged ahead, moving at incredible speed.
George suddenly became suspicious, thinking that his recent series of attacks had damaged the Eternal Chosen’s eye that could glimpse the future, leading him to make such a foolish move.
Jima could not help but shout, “Charge!”
“No!”
A red ‘no’ popped up above George’s head. “Bahabao Youyuan!”
George considered the possibility of the magic dragon Marvo betraying them.
Jima shouted, “Listen to the Tin Man!”
Eighteen seconds…
George silently calculated the estimated length for the Eternal Chosen, closely monitoring the changes in the painful power on him. If he appeared to be in great pain, that would indicate he had foreseen the painful future George had cleverly set for him. At that point, there would be no hesitation; he would directly press the iron tablet.
The Eternal Chosen had already killed his way forward when George engaged him first, blade clashing with blade.
“Surprised? Brave one, look at the hero: ‘I have seen you fall! The Emperor dies! Victory belongs to me!'”
Jima ordered, “Surround him!”
The magic dragon Marvo, alongside the numerous doomsday knights and the Emperor’s ten thousand knights, charged together.
“You will be struck in the next moment!” The Eternal Chosen parried with one-handed strikes, breaking George’s attack, presenting a high lift with his long sword, fast as lightning, pointing it towards the sky, unafraid of the approaching doomsday knights from all directions, charging directly at Jima and the magic dragon Marvo.
“Vongvor, do you remember our agreement?”
“The agreement…”
“Your big-headed curse!” Jima struck fiercely with the branch axe spear against the metal rod piercing the skull, sending the magic dragon Marvo reeling, unsteady on her feet: “Obey me!”
From the Eternal Chosen erupted a radiant light, and Jima saw him enveloped in a fog-like pain on his chest.
The show is just beginning.
Lightning lit up Jima’s face, her beautiful visage appearing remarkably fierce.
The doomsday knights and George had surrounded the Eternal Chosen.
“No!”
The magic dragon Marvo suddenly cried out.
From the bottom of the silver metal pillar, muscles wriggled and were violently propelled into the air by the magic dragon Marvo, her tail coiling toward Jima.
“Forgive me, my lord!”
Jima almost faltered, tightening her shield in preparation. Jima was momentarily taken aback when the tailwind struck, shattering both the magic screen and the intangible light shield. She lost her balance, flapping her wings in midair, witnessing the magic dragon Marvo charging toward the surrounded Eternal Chosen like a Tyrannosaurus, tears mixed with blood streaming from the corners of her eyes:
“My lord, please forgive me!”
With that, she shook her head, the black mist sweeping toward everyone present. George jumped out in time, engulfed by the dragon breath, but before being submerged, Jenna swiftly tied ropes.
The doomsday knights were injured and dead. The Eternal Chosen exploded backward, heading towards his mount.
A gap appeared in the encirclement, and the magic dragon Marvo realized it could become a deadly spearhead.
George quickly made a judgment and shouted, “Fall back!”
“My lord!”
The magic dragon Marvo raced toward the Eternal Chosen, who was also charging at her.
Jima’s lips curled into a smile as she pressed the red button.
The magic dragon Marvo exploded.
