Chapter 8 Chapter 9 Frostleaf
At that moment, Jima had a strong urge to cruelly kill the elf queen in front of her. She imagined pulling her ears, wrapping them around her neck, and hanging her from the crooked tree. Even though she was tall, mature, and usually lecherous, Jima would have no hesitation in killing her.
Jima clenched her fists but, in less than a second, she loosened them.
She was just a weakling in silver and was on the elf queen’s territory. She didn’t have the strength or capital to lose her temper. Of course, she could try to persuade the toolman George to help, but she didn’t want to waste the feelings she had worked hard to acquire on something like this.
She was even less willing to plead for help from others just because she was weak.
Jima could only silently open her personal system panel and, just as expected, she found a little black book titled “The Dead Arrogant Elf Queen Who Should Be Bred.”
Upon opening it, Jima discovered that she and the elf queen actually had quite a few grudges against each other.
For example, thirty-six years ago, at a banquet, the elf queen had insulted a maid, calling her an ‘elf-brained monkey.’ Another time, when they encountered each other on the battlefield, the elf queen had actually farted.
Jima realized just how forgetful she was to have forgotten so many grievances with the elf queen. Earlier, while riding on the griffon, she had even indulged in fantasies of the elf queen’s infidelity.
Old grudges and new resentments all counted together.
Jima changed the title of the little black book to “The Elf Queen Who Should Be Hanged By Her Own Long Ears on the Crooked Tree.” In less than three seconds, she mentally input her wrath into the book, filling a hundred or so words. It was only then that she managed to suppress the raging anger within her.
Seeing Jima “stunned” in place for a few seconds, expressionless and saying nothing, George turned to the elf queen and spoke:
“Your Majesty, she isn’t a mere thing; she is my attendant, a very wise and knowledgeable succubus. Just now, she paid you her respects as your guest, and yet you publicly insulted her. I hope you can apologize for your rudeness just now.”
The elf queen’s green eyes narrowed instantly. The armed maid beside her stiffened and glared at George, while even the elf guards at the door placed their hands on their sword hilts.
The atmosphere shifted, growing ominous and fearful.
The elf queen slightly raised her flawless chin, and the crown atop her head, encrusted with twenty-two green gemstones, radiated an air of majesty. Jima felt something weighing down on her knees, making her feel scared.
Jima turned her head slightly to look at George beside her. He remained standing straight, his azure eyes calmly fixed on the elf queen seated high on her throne.
An intense feeling of powerless rage surged within her, a hundred times stronger than fear.
Jima secretly tugged on George and whispered, “Don’t stand up for me.”
“She was wrong first.”
“Please.”
“Don’t worry about me.”
“Worry?” Jima lowered her voice, “You only make me feel more powerless rage, George.”
George furrowed his brow, perplexed. Before he could ponder the meaning behind Jima’s words, the elf queen’s mature voice rang out:
“Do you think I owe her an apology?”
George answered firmly, “Yes.”
“Have you ever considered…” The elf queen raised her hand as a maid closed the door, which was thick and soundproof; even a scream inside wouldn’t be heard outside.
The queen’s mature voice echoed in the room: “…that you have always wronged a certain female elf. Do you remember her name?”
This sentence exploded in Jima’s heart like a depth charge. She turned in shock to look at George, who remained calm, his head bowed as he considered the elf queen’s question.
Could it be that the elf queen really had a past with George? Did I accidentally hit the mark? The elf queen’s female relatives for three generations have shared physical intimacy with George… It made her jealous to the point of wanting to strangle him…
Why wasn’t he the least bit shy? Was his image as a wooden virgin all an act? In reality, was he a dashing paladin who sowed his wild oats everywhere, tricking me all along?
Jima slightly shook her head, denying her shocking conjecture. It seemed George hadn’t caught the hint of ambiguity in the elf queen’s words at all.
The armed maid nearby couldn’t help but show surprise, looking at her master and George with a contemplative gaze.
The elf queen remained impassive, leaning slightly forward, her green eyes fixed on George.
George looked up and replied, “Is it Del? I remember that her waist was smashed in two by a ghoul’s bone staff, and I not only failed to save her but couldn’t even hear her last words. I still don’t know where her hometown is.”
The elf queen’s expression cooled a notch as she coldly said, “No. You humans truly make me feel ridiculous.”
“Who is it then?”
The elf queen retorted, “Who else could it be?”
Jima wished she could help George answer, shouting the elf queen’s real name, then gazing at her with emotion, hoping for a soft apology and a memorable, in-depth exchange with the elf queen later.
But George mentioned another female elf’s name: “Frostleaf?”
The correct answer was clearly written on the elf queen’s face.
Jima couldn’t help but mutter, “So stupid.”
The elf queen’s reaction surprised Jima; she said, “You remember her? It’s only been six months, and you’ve almost forgotten her. You fought side by side against the demon king Kima, haha, that disgusting and vile creature deserved to die. You killed him and earned supreme glory, but what did she get? A vicious curse before the demon king died.”
George appeared clueless, his mouth slightly open, his blue eyes losing composure as he looked at the elf queen in confusion.
Jima was also a bit stunned. A curse, oh yes, I seem to have collected about seven or eight or nine curses. Jima thought, glancing at George again.
But it seemed none of those curses affected the deceased virgin.
The elf queen continued: “Did you think I collaborated with the Holy Hall to explore the demon king Kima’s palace for some ridiculous, illusory treasure? Do you remember the task requirements the Holy Hall gave you?”
George answered, “I remember, to find a way to解除the demon king’s curse. But they never told me who was cursed.”
The elf queen coldly replied, “In the end, what did you bring back? Not only no solution but also a succubus slave. You really know how to play; I bet you’ve had a delightful time with her these past few days.”
George opened his mouth to argue but, upon reflecting that he had indeed enjoyed being with Jima, he fell silent, while the elf queen sneered.
I actually guessed wrong, and Jima was still in her daze.
The elf queen said, “I’ll just toss the two of you into the sea, and you can swim back to the other shore. Come here!”
Just as the armed maid was about to draw her sword, a clear female voice interrupted.
“Wait.”
Before the words faded, a pair of long, graceful legs stepped out from behind the screen.
Jima’s gaze was immediately captivated by those long legs.
They were powerful, with well-defined muscle lines, covered in shining silver threads that highlighted the beautiful contours of the long legs. These legs were proportionate, like a masterpiece of the creator; long lower legs, toned calves, and powerful thighs.
With each step on the carpet, it felt like they were stepping on people’s hearts, pounding inside.
When the owner of those legs finally stopped, Jima withdrew her gaze from the stunning silver-covered legs, only to discover that the owner was a tall elf beauty with silver hair akin to mythril.
She was slightly shorter than George, with a slender waist and carrying a bow. Her silver hair was tied in a ponytail, her face resembling a slender oval, with green eyes and features somewhat similar to the elf queen’s. She exuded an icy aura, more chilling than the arrows in her quiver.
It felt as though anyone who shamelessly tried to flirt with her would be shot through the face by her sharp arrows.
In fact, she was very beautiful, but unfortunately, her striking long legs were too eye-catching.
Noticing Jima’s gaze, the long-legged elf subtly raised her chin, as if she had won a beauty pageant.
George gasped in surprise, “Frostleaf? You’ve been here all along?”
“Correct,” the elf queen said, “Recently, she suddenly missed you a lot. The diviner said you would meet soon, so I had her wait behind the screen so she could hear firsthand how forgetful a short-lived species like humans can be.”
The elf queen turned to Frostleaf and asked, “Now, do you understand?”
“Your Majesty,” Frostleaf gently pressed her soft chest and slightly bowed to the queen, saying, “I request that you do not throw him into the sea.”
Jima quietly interjected, “And me too.”
“I knew you would come out to plead.” The elf queen said, “Fine, if I punish him, you will most likely feel sorry for him. Succubi and demons are the ancient enemies of elves, leave a wing behind.”
“What?!”
“Your Majesty,” George said, “I stand on my honor, if you harm my attendant, this will surely end in bloodshed today.”
“Do you see?” the elf queen said to Frostleaf, “This is called fickleness.”
Frostleaf’s long and straight eyebrows lifted, “Your Majesty, I believe in George.”
The queen raised an eyebrow, “You still trust him?”
“Because I’ve never spoken to him about the curse.” Frostleaf turned to George and asked, “George, have you thoroughly searched the demon king’s palace for the解法 to the curse?”
George answered, “I searched very carefully and found some clues.”
The elf queen coldly retorted, “But in the end, you found nothing.”
George insisted, “No, I found an extremely hidden secret chamber, and I found her.”
As he spoke, George pointed to Jima and continued, “To release her, I had to sign a slave contract with her. Recently, I took her to Shalin City to find a way to break the contract.”
Frostleaf asked, “Just the two of you?”
George confirmed, “Yes, because bringing her back to the Holy Hall was highly controversial. Fortunately, with the Lord’s blessing, we succeeded.”
The elf queen rested her chin on her hand, “What a touching love story.”
Frostleaf said, “George, I believe you really searched for a解法 to the curse.”
The elf queen raised her voice, “Frostleaf!”
Frostleaf raised her voice as well, “A paladin would never lie!”
George stepped forward and asked Frostleaf, “Why didn’t you tell me about the curse?”
She turned her head to George and replied, “Don’t worry about my curse; it’s not serious. Now, let’s end this farce.”
With that, Frostleaf turned and strode towards the door, pulling it open to leave.
As soon as Frostleaf left, the atmosphere in the room turned terrifying again.
The elf queen’s green eyes seemed to spark with anger as she glared at the pair of lovers.
Jima truly worried that this menopausal old woman would toss her into the sea. She raised her hand and quietly said, “Actually, I’ve never slept with George.”
