Chapter 237: The Shattered Disc
As soon as the news of the negotiations broke, it immediately raised concerns throughout the international community. There were fears that America would succumb to the Demon King and become her henchman, reshaping the world order.
America’s strength already stood tall globally; if aided by the Demon King, it was feared that in a few years the entire world would have to submit to her rule.
In response to the international community’s worries, America did not provide a direct reply.
This was because Jima was indifferent to these concerns ever since the dreamscape covered the globe, and her upgraded dream palace returned.
Jima was certain that for now, no one on Earth could kill her. Thanks to the new skills acquired from the upgrade of the Dark Goddess, her entity was now in the dream palace.
Similar to a lich’s phylactery, unless someone could reach the dream palace and slay her or use some magical means to destroy her entity, even if she died, she would return to the mortal realm.
“I can’t be bothered to reply,” Jima said over the phone. “I don’t even know what I’m doing in the future, goodbye.”
If I had precise answers, why would I still harvest pain for my power?
After hanging up, Jima lifted her foot and kicked open the door of the villa on the mountain, revealing a spacious area behind.
The round, orange-haired Leansi jumped from Jima’s arms and darted inside, happily sliding across the smooth, mirror-like black marble tiles, stopping only when she collided with a pillar.
Leansi had become plumper, with even more fur.
After the dream palace returned and upon seeing Jima, she was tearful yet overjoyed, claiming she must have passed the test and proved her loyalty.
In truth, Jima had not even noticed that someone was left in the dream palace when she fled.
The Leansi, who had consumed half of the dream palace’s food supply, cried out, “Master, I’m so miserable trapped in the palace!”
Jima looked at the pillar, pondering whether to give her a liposuction surgery.
“Meow~~.”
The orange pig transformed into a red-haired girl.
Leansi stood up, pressed a button, and bright light flooded the room, revealing the luxurious interior in clear detail.
“Wow!” Leansi exclaimed, “Is this our home now, Master? It’s almost like the dream palace.”
“A temporary home,” Jima said, shutting the wooden door behind her and walking towards the multi-level villa.
Leansi had just arrived on Earth and followed Jima while looking around, frequently gasping in amazement.
“Wow, we are on a mountaintop,” Leansi noted, “Such a nice house, how many gold coins did your people give you, Master?”
“It’s compensation for me.”
“Was it just given to you for free?”
“Yes.”
“Humans must have realized your greatness, Master,” Leansi added, “Otherwise, they wouldn’t give you such a precious gift…”
“Ha, it’s like living with a dog.”
“Really?” Leansi was incredulous, “Is that dog like me?”
“No, it’s a German Shepherd; a real dog.”
“Is the house its owner’s?”
“It has no owner; it’s its property. Its net worth is 373 million dollars. It has servants who cook for it, flies on private jets, enjoys caviar, and sleeps in a bed that once belonged to Madonna. All of this was simply set up by a female billionaire thirty years ago when she gave its grandfather eighty million in inheritance to establish a trust fund to manage it.”
The more Jima talked, the more unbalanced she felt:
“I bet if that dog had any interest in humans, it wouldn’t have fewer than a hundred human lovers, and someone would contort themselves to break the reproductive barrier between humans and dogs.”
“Huh? But you only have one hundred million dollars now.”
“Still just a pile of useless money.” Jima and Leansi walked to the balcony, overlooking the vast landscape below, “If even a dog can live so comfortably, why can’t I live thousands or tens of thousands of times better than it?”
“That group of politicians and billionaires still drags their feet, trying to persuade me to work well and coexist peacefully with humans for mutual benefits? Ha, when ants find they can’t handle an elephant, they try to control the elephant with their mouths.”
The more Jima thought, the less comfortable she felt, saying:
“Is it said that murder and arson receive amnesty? Maybe I was too lenient in America, hitting too quickly and killing too few, being too cautious. Now, they come to unite against me and treat me like a dog.”
As she spoke, Jima gazed into the distance, her golden eyes narrowing, malicious thoughts stirring in her mind, considering whether she should show all of humanity her ability to destroy cities?
For instance, to obliterate a city with eight million inhabitants.
Since a billionaire can spend her money however she pleases without others meddling, can’t I use my abilities however I want without interference?
“My great master, how can a dog be compared to you?” Leansi said sincerely, “They offer you this house because of your greatness; it’s just that too many mortals have yet to realize your greatness.”
Jima retorted, “Don’t you feel humiliated being with me? Not even as good as a dog.”
Leansi shook her head: “Master, being by your side is my greatest reward.”
Though Leansi’s attempts at flattery fell a bit short,
Jima felt much better. She squinted her eyes and said, “Indeed, I now need to find a way to earn some capital.”
Since I’m discarding the thought of destroying cities, I’ll have to take some “proper” routes.
Jima had no thread of inspiration; she browsed the internet on her phone and happened across news about cannabis.
Suddenly, she had an idea and made several phone calls.
After finishing, she thought of Lin Feng.
“Hello, Lin Feng,” Jima said, “There’s a money-making opportunity; come invest, yes, invest all of your money. I don’t care how much it is; what matters to me is your sincerity.
“Yes, yes. A rich second generation like you giving a million is like an average person giving a hundred; how can that show your sincerity? I’ve hung up.”
After hanging up, Jima remembered that dog again and manipulated her phone to check browsing history, finding a news piece titled “The Richest Dog in the World.”
There was a photo of a German Shepherd dining with a blonde beauty, accompanied by three attendants.
Jima winked at the German Shepherd and, through the photo, infused it with a bit of desire and intelligence.
…
…
Gongsu VI was a dog, a German Shepherd with sleek fur and a yellow-black coat.
He was lying next to the swimming pool in the backyard of a mansion, lowering his head to eat caviar.
The caviar came from Iran. Gourmet Cai had tasted most caviars and deemed the sturgeon caviar from Iran the most delicious, especially the one in the blue box, known for its large size.
The plump pearls of caviar burst under his teeth, releasing an aromatic and sweet flavor.
Gongsu VI loved this type of caviar, continuously eating while several round pearls fell next to the blue box.
Next to Gongsu VI stood four suited attendants with smiles on their faces, humble expressions, their hands folded over their bellies, and their waists slightly bent.
A blonde lady in blue knelt beside Gongsu VI, serving him.
A photographer captured this moment.
The blonde lady stood up, glanced at the photos on the photographer’s camera, and nodded with satisfaction, “Alright, alright.”
Photos of Gongsu VI made for the best promotional material, showcasing to all potential clients that our trust institution could take care of even a dog living luxuriously day by day, so they could feel at ease entrusting their assets to us, ensuring their future generations would enjoy prosperity.
The blonde lady was the housekeeper and team manager; the better the trust institution performed, the more her salary increased.
After the photoshoot, everyone exchanged pleasantries happily.
“Let’s stay at Madonna’s house next time.”
“We can utilize the fame of the world-class singer.”
The blonde housekeeper smiled and said: “Why not ask Gongsu VI what he wants, and give him that.”
The attendants all laughed. How could a dog have any intelligence?
The blonde housekeeper felt as if someone was offering her backside, and her expression changed, surprised that someone dared to sexually harass her at work; she put on a cold face, reached behind with force, and turned around.
But her hand touched the furry dog’s head.
Looking closely, it was Gongsu VI nudging and sniffing her rear.
The blonde housekeeper quickly changed her expression back to a smile: “Mr. Gongsu VI, do you want to play with me?”
Gongsu VI turned around behind her, lifted his hind leg, and trapped the blonde housekeeper with his front paws.
The nearby attendants couldn’t help but laugh.
The blonde housekeeper quickly struggled free, but Gongsu VI continued to chase her as if seeing her as prey, until the blonde housekeeper lost her composure and shouted:
“Get him away! Get him away!”
But Gongsu VI had no collar on his neck; how could a dog worth 373 million have a collar?
Gongsu VI tackled the blonde housekeeper, who kicked him hard, and then the attendants rushed to hold Gongsu VI down, barely preventing an embarrassing incident.
Afterward.
The blonde housekeeper’s phone echoed with a roar: “How could you do this?”
“But it seemed like he wanted to ravage me.”
“Gongsu VI is just a shepherd dog, not a man!” The roar continued: “Ma’am! I’ll remind you that you are suspected of animal abuse!”
“But he’s just a dog.”
“You still don’t understand the seriousness of this matter! If this gets out to the media, we’ll all be in trouble, ma’am! Animal rights activists will block the company’s entrance! And our clients will think we’ve been lying all along! Lying!
“They’ll think we’ve pocketed Gongsu VI’s assets, deceiving a dog.”
The blonde housekeeper began to cry.
“Alright, maybe I was too impulsive, but there can’t be a next time, or we’ll be kicked out of the company, understood?”
“Understood.”
After hanging up, the blonde housekeeper became anxious.
Gongsu VI was indeed a shepherd, but if Gongsu VI disliked her and wouldn’t be near her, then her job would likely be reassigned to a lower paying position.
However, this also sparked an idea for her.
Not long after, she proposed an idea in the team: “What if three blonde ladies wear bikinis and have dinner with Gongsu VI?”
This proposal was quickly approved. Gongsu VI cooperated exceptionally, and when he saw the three blonde women, he momentarily ignored the blonde housekeeper and ran off to play with them.
This relieved the blonde housekeeper.
The promotional photo came out, and everyone thought it looked great, and her supervisor praised her.
But the blonde housekeeper’s good mood vanished a few days later.
While Gongsu VI was on a private jet, a blonde woman sat next to him—one of the bikini models; the dog and the woman were very close.
Upon inquiry, she discovered that the woman was actually Gongsu VI’s girlfriend, accompanying him to Hawaii.
While the blonde housekeeper felt disdain, she secretly began to worry about her future.
Months later.
When the Chinese internet grew tired of mocking America, compounded by a few scandals in China, the backlash began. Many expatriates in America spoke candidly, sincerely stating that living in the same realm as the Demon King Jima was no great deal; their lives remained calm and beautiful.
In any case, their lives were still good.
A news report popped up.
“… The House of Representatives passed a cannabis decriminalization bill… The bill aims to end the federal prohibition against cannabis, adopting a tax and regulatory model similar to alcohol.”
“… Cannabis is now fully legalized in 37 states; a year ago, that number was 15.”
Jima watched the news scroll and noted that she could already read most of the English. As for listening and reading? It was about that level—difficult to communicate without a translator.
But for this achievement, Jima felt quite satisfied, even a bit proud. However, she shouldn’t be overly proud; after all, she was the chosen one of the shape-shifting Lord and her mind had become sharper.
At that moment, she felt an itch on her calf.
Jima looked down and saw a black-haired maid who couldn’t help but gently kiss her white silk-clad calf, leaving a red mark on her flawless white silk.
The beautiful and cute black-haired maid, with baby fat on her cheeks, sat on the carpet while lightly embracing Jima’s calf. When she noticed Jima looking at her, she bit her lip, trying to pass it off.
Jima spoke in the universal tongue: “Change.”
“Understood.”
The head maid, Leansi, straightened up and, in fluent English, ordered the black-haired maid to leave.
A look of panic crossed the black-haired maid’s face as the two maids approached, and under the head maid Leansi’s orders, they directly dragged the black-haired maid away.
The black-haired maid’s eyes were red with tears, and her voice choked.
Surrounding maids were frightened, all lowering their heads, too scared to look at head maid Leansi.
“Master has said before, no casual kissing of her legs,” head maid Leansi scanned the surroundings and coldly stated, “If anyone steps out of line again, it won’t just be one day; it will be three days without any maid duties, and you won’t be able to see the master.”
The surrounding maids responded, “Yes, head maid.”
Jima gazed at her phone, scrolling through the news.
Now, she was paving the way for cannabis legalization. Once those people invested in cannabis and made money, she was sure to get a share; she just needed to wait for the money to drop from the sky.
A news piece appeared on the phone screen.
“The richest dog in the world is caught up in scandal.”
Clicking in, she discovered that a dog named Gongsu VI was surrounded by three bikini-clad blondes, with a blue-clad blonde sitting next to him.
“… Mr. Gongsu VI has fallen in love with his housekeeper. Now, Gongsu VI’s girlfriend denies previous rumors, claiming he is a cute and loyal dog…”
“Tsk, tsk, tsk.” Jima blinked, questioning her eyes: “Is it really feasible?”
In the comment section, she sincerely wrote:
“This Demon King is suddenly filled with awe for human civilization; among our demon kind, we’ve never seen a dog have women. Dogs are generally used as cannon fodder for chasing enemies. Additionally, I suggest you teach Mr. Gongsu VI to have a good habit of wearing protection.”
Jima’s ID was golden to remind everyone that this character was genuinely dangerous.
Thus, the responses from netizens were considerably more restrained.
“Perhaps in your demon kind, you don’t know that private property is sacred and inviolable. Your prejudice against dogs just proves that you come from hell.”
Jima replied:
“I’m not mocking. I’ve lived for three centuries and have only seen warlords and demon lords insult people with their combat dogs, simulating mating acts. I’ve never seen a dog develop relationships with humans.”
“After all, you are a thorough Darwinian, placing no value on life…”
Jima was too lazy to engage in a theological debate and exited the webpage.
Because the butterflies in her lower abdomen started flapping their wings again, despite having had a good time last night.
“Little Li, I’ve updated the maid roster.”
“Understood.” Leansi asked, “Does Master want to host a gathering again?”
Jima stood up and stretched, “True hobbies can never be satisfied.”
…
…
The disc was already cracked, and when it filled with energy, light could be seen emerging from the fissures.
“It seems you won’t be taking me back.”
Lilith blinked her red eyes, lamenting softly.
“This is your homeland,” George said, “It looks like I’ll have to go alone this time.”
“Safe travels.”
Lilith waved her hand listlessly, “You still have to find your fiancée, right?”
“I’m going to save the world.”
“That’s more like it; some people complain that to charge this disc, you’ve lessened the sins of a few slave owners.”
“Justice always requires compromise when grounded,” George said, “I just hope the order I leave behind can allow more people to pursue justice; after all, justice cannot self-promote.”
“How do you plan to deal with Jima?”
“I am to save the world.”
“Not just that, right?”
George placed his hand on the sword hilt, “That depends on her performance.”
“But from your tone, you seem quite certain she will commit unforgivable sins.”
“If left unchecked, she would.” George said, “My master is very perceptive; he looked at Jima and said she is inherently evil, with a solid value system. If she believes in evil, one could say she’s even more sincere than I am.”
“It’s not strange that such people exist in your world.”
As the light from the cracks on the disc grew stronger, George dripped blood onto it. Thanks to the efforts of the mages in this world, the master bound to the disc was changed to him.
Amidst the light, a blue wormhole reappeared, and the disc emitted crackling noises, the fissures deepening.
Unable to suppress her curiosity, Lilith asked, “So you never said, are you going to kill her or what?”
“I will save the world and reclaim my title,” George said, and then disappeared into the blue wormhole.
