Chapter 50 Invitation of the Sacred Tree (Part 2)
Frodella, a small town adjacent to the Sacred Tree, was suddenly visited by two Saint Rank powerhouses claiming to be from the Abyss, and even phantoms of human Magic Monarchs. This would undoubtedly cause a huge stir throughout the entire Elf kingdom.
—However, none of this could compare to the moment when the Life Goddess’s spirit form drew out a branch of the Sacred Tree and transformed it into the Holy Spear of Life.
“Of course, there’s absolutely no doubt about that. Hmm, I’m afraid the elves in the Sacred Tree Sky City are already in chaos because of this… I just don’t know if it’s joy, or if there will be other emotions?”
Verafia tilted her head slightly. She was sitting in the carriage, her small hands propping up her face as she leaned against the window. Her big eyes widened slightly, and her pair of golden eyes gazed around.
Time had passed from dusk into nightfall. The moon and the budding branches of the Golden Tree adorned the night sky. However, unlike the memories of the past, the color of the moon was dim and desolate. Just by witnessing it, it felt as if one had fallen into the Abyss.
Verafia shook her head again.
The surroundings were already engulfed in the dark night. She gently raised Mistetinn’s Staff in her hand, and the light it emitted easily illuminated the remnants around. Many elf knights in exquisite armor, as well as rangers, appeared in her eyes, guarding the carriage.
Further out, the ruins of the small town of Frodella could still be vaguely seen. Many elf soldiers were maintaining order among the refugees, trying to find any survivors in the ruins.
—Of course, the possibility of this was very slim. Although Holderia did not exert her full strength, the aftershocks of the battle with Ig were not something that ordinary elf residents could withstand.
Suddenly, the carriage wheels stalled slightly. Verafia gently held Ig’s hand beside her. A soft knocking sound echoed. After Ig responded, she gently pushed open the car door and walked in.
What appeared before them was a tall and heroic elf maiden. She was armed with a sword, and her bright silver armor outlined her elegant figure. Her emerald green, soft long hair was tied up, and the emerald green pupils in her beautiful face fell upon Verafia beside the young man.
The elf maiden looked at Verafia’s small face, hesitated for a moment, and then softly asked, “Miss Verafia, are you… sad for them?”
Verafia blinked her big golden eyes. She thought to herself, when did this young lady ever have such a compassionate persona?
“I… am thinking about some things.”
“Miss Lorinta, you only found me and Veer here. Are you worried about the dark elves, or the traitors hidden among you?”
Ig’s voice came from beside her.
Verafia also raised her eyes slightly, looking at the maiden knight in the Sacred Tree’s silver armor with a sense of novelty.
Although she had only woken up not long ago, her memories of emerging from the phoenix egg were not gone. Of course, she still remembered this Miss Lorinta, a Sacred Tree Knight.
In fact, within minutes of Fatter’s phantom being shattered, Lorinta and the dwarf warrior named Gavin had already arrived.
However, Lorinta did not immediately question her. Instead, she waited for the elf army behind her to arrive. After having some knights escort her, she boarded the carriage of Verafia and Ig.
This behavior, as Ig said, was difficult not to have reservations about.
“You already know?”
Lorinta looked up with slight surprise. She hesitated for a moment and then nodded: “As you can see, after we parted ways with you, we were attacked by a legion as soon as we arrived.”
“Those dark elves might have come for the ‘Initial Moonlight’ in your hand, but to deploy the power of several Saints and an entire dark elf legion to the edge of the Sacred Tree in such a short time… perhaps it’s not just the traitors. The penetration of the dark elves into the Sacred Tree over the past year has been considerable.”
Lorinta’s voice was filled with worry. Ig nodded.
The Moon Jade in his hand was called the “Key of Dark Moon” by the dark elves, and in Lorinta’s mouth, it was called the “Ancient Moonlight”… In fact, from the name alone, one could infer its origin.
Ig had already discussed what Lorinta said with Irene before, so he was not too surprised.
“Then, the Moon Jade in Ig’s hand, do the dark elves want to obtain it because of the Silver Moon Goddess?”
Verafia widened her eyes slightly, and her slender, tender voice posed the question.
“Miss Verafia’s question should mean that you have already guessed the relationship between Princess Elucia and the current dark elves.”
Lorinta glanced at the girl and then gently nodded.
“You are correct. Zorgaya imprisoned Princess Elucia and tainted the flawless Silver Moon… Perhaps that Silver Moon Elf girl told you that the dark elves want to seize the Ancient Moonlight in Mr. Ig’s hand in order to fully awaken Princess Elucia.”
Verafia’s eyelashes slightly lifted, revealing her gorgeous golden eyes, and she nodded.
She herself had once been the Goddess of Flame, so she had no difficulty understanding what Lorinta said.
The so-called deities were merely incarnations of laws and authorities. The personalities and names they possessed individually were merely symbols. Even the same deity could give birth to completely opposite existences.
Just like the ancient God King Herafir who had awakened from Verafia’s body. Herafir’s substance was still the Flame Goddess “Verafia” of this era, but she had absolutely no connection with Verafia herself.
As for the dark elves wanting to awaken Elucia, what they wanted was certainly not the former Silver Moon Goddess, but a deity that belonged entirely to them, the Dark Moon.
“However, as this guy Ig said, the dark elves fell because of the Abyss, and they have a considerable connection with the Abyssal Church, and that Fatter…”
Verafia tilted her head slightly, thinking in her heart. She swayed her little feet under her skirt, propped her face with her small hands, and her eyelashes fluttered open, revealing her golden eyes as she looked at the elf maiden:
“I felt before that Lorinta wanted to tell me something… Are you coming at this time to ask me to do something?”
The innocent and tender voice was completely like that of a childish child’s question, but Lorinta knew that the little girl before her was certainly not as ignorant as her young appearance suggested.
“Miss Verafia, you… already know?”
Lorinta lowered her face slightly. After a moment, her emerald-like bright eyes lifted, and she pleaded, “Miss Verafia, could you accompany me to the Sacred Tree?”

I Was The Hero, But I Woke Up as a Phoenix Princess?!
身为勇者的我竟然成了凤凰大小姐
From the travel diaries of a Phoenix Princess reborn from the inferno, chronicling her life on the road with a supposedly “useless” young hero…
On their journey, their fellowship continues to grow: a Dragon Princess of silver frost, a young Vampire Princess with eyes of blood-crimson, the Saintess of Radiant Holy Light, the noble Princess of the White Iris…
“Hmm?” Verafia paused, tilting her head as she gracefully twirled a soft strand of her fiery hair around a finger. A hint of suspicion flickered in her beautiful eyes. “Ignet, why does this sound suspiciously like you’re assembling a harem?”
“My lady, there is a saying: ‘The fish is what I desire, and the bear’s paw is also what I desire.’ A wise man knows that if he can have them both, his home will be harmonious and all his affairs will prosper,” he began, puffing out his chest with the air of a profound philosopher. “Is that not a truly beautiful thing? A… a paragon of peaceful coexistence?”
He faltered under her smoldering gaze.
“…Ahhh! It was a joke! I’m sorry, Milady, please don’t burn me! I swear my only desire is you!”
