Chapter 18 Judgment and Sin (Part 2)
The fire of sin raged and burned, crashing into the scythe within the dark ice lotus with a “bang,” but as the ferocious flames were extinguished, the divine radiance of life suddenly enveloped it. The rain of life light condensed into thin sword blades, tearing apart the sinful flames!
“Mmmph…” the loli with snow-blue long hair let out a groan.
After all, she was not what she once was, immortal. Even though Verafia had offset most of the sinful flames on the Angelic Sacred Sword, the pain that fell upon her was still not easy to bear. The long-lost pain returned, and her small body was sent flying by the fluctuations of the laws.
However, her body was caught in a slightly cool, yet still soft embrace. Xueyu’s little face turned, and she saw Ophi’s face.
The Ice Dragon Girl’s gaze also fell on Anliya’s small face. The tender little face clearly showed pain, yet her pure white teeth bit down on her delicate red lips. Her eyes, as clear and bright as an ice lake, were slightly moist, but she stubbornly suppressed it.
In Ophi’s eyes, previously, Anliya had forcefully broken through the obstruction of the radiant sacred light alone, arriving before the fallen angel before them. The girl didn’t have to face Sariel alone; she insisted on it because she wanted to ask her former colleague questions and was afraid of being stopped by her and Ig.
Looking at the loli’s expression, and her sensitive and delicate heart, she felt a pang of heartache.
Anliya was afraid that because she cared about the past, cared about her former kin, they would hurt her, or even force her to do things she didn’t want to do?
Ophi thought. She squatted down slightly and carefully placed the girl in her arms on the ground. Her pair of clear blue beautiful eyes slightly raised, and her tender little hand gently stroked her little head, saying softly:
“Anliya, don’t worry. See, that angel said that your kin have all been taken to Agrand. When we defeat Moon and rescue them… Mm, I’ll talk to Veer. She definitely won’t make things difficult for your people!”
Anliya’s ice-blue eyes slightly opened, and she raised her little face. She never expected this naturally silly Ice Dragon to say such things to her.
“Moreover, An’an is clearly an old monster! She’s much older than Ophi, yet she’s treating An’an like she’s coaxing a child!”
Anliya thought this in her heart, and her delicate lips pouted.
But when she saw Ophi’s translucent gaze and the genuine concern that she hadn’t felt for a long time, her heart was touched. Her long eyelashes covered her ice-blue eyes, and what came out of her mouth changed:
“Thank you,” the girl said softly, her voice slightly muffled with a hint of softness.
As they were talking, Verafia wielded the Sword of Life, clashing with Sariel’s Fallen Sacred Sword hundreds of times. The astonishing fluctuations of a divine being shook the heavens.
Meanwhile, Ig, Andes, and the others also defeated Sariel’s incarnations formed from angel feathers within the sacred light. Their long swords surged with terrifying sword light, and city-destroying spell incantations on their silver staffs were all directed towards the fallen figure outside the light!
… Sariel stood at the realm of a divine being. As an immortal, he was separated from legends and sacred domains by an insurmountable distance.
Under the domain of a divine being, even if the sword technique in Ig’s hand was astonishing, comparable to a legend, without the sword technique that condensed “eternity,” it was impossible to pierce the domain of a divine being and cause damage, let alone Andes’ Sword of Dawn.
However, Verafia, the Goddess of Life, also stood before Sariel.
Verafia, also a goddess, had more pure life laws than Sariel’s fire of sin. The Divine Domain of Life that enveloped the sky even suppressed Sariel’s domain.
Thus, lacking the defense of laws and domains, Sariel could not treat the attacks from the sacred domain lightly, or he would be injured!
Because Verafia was there to restrain him, Sariel also found it difficult to heavily injure anyone. Moreover, Ophi and Anliya also stepped forward to surround him. In just a few breaths, he found it hard to cope. His divine body was damaged, and angel feathers scattered everywhere, making him look disheveled and almost defeated.
The young goddess gently paused her steps, and a shattered sand-like radiance rippled before her. She lightly touched it with her slender fingers, and before her gorgeous golden eyes, the ripples of light reformed.
Verafia lightly held the slender Sword of Life, and the flowing ripples on it shimmered with divine light.
Above her golden eyes, the girl’s slender eyelashes slightly lifted. She saw the fallen angel struggling under the siege of Ig and the others. Suddenly, she let out a fierce roar, and the dazzling divine radiance erupted from her body. The eight angel wings behind her were actually dismantled from Sariel and condensed into four divine incarnations!
These four incarnations each possessed angel wings. Their vague faces had the same features as Sariel, possessing an aura close to legend. Sword qi crisscrossed, clashing with Ig, Anliya, and the others.
Sariel’s true form, with a loud shout, let the sacred sword ignited by the fire of sin suddenly brighten, tearing through the spatial obstruction. Dark red sword light appeared before Verafia!
“You still haven’t used the power of light.”
Verafia said, waving her slender hand, and the life-imbued sword blade shattered the sinful sword qi. With a “bang,” it clashed with the great sword of sin descending from Sariel.
After arriving at Arnor Colon, Verafia saw clearly.
Sariel had obtained the “Fragment of Light” from Pope Moon. Verafia knew that it belonged to the Origin of the God of Light, representing the purest concept of light.
After secretly controlling Arnor Colon, Sariel nurtured the Fragment of Light in the Arnor Church of the Three Sanctuaries, and secretly sowed plagues to manipulate their faith, even making them willing to offer their souls and lives to the light.
The faith of hundreds of thousands of people in a city, the power condensed from it, was something even Verafia herself would not underestimate, let alone the origin of the God of Light contained within.
However, even after fighting until now, Sariel had been forced to split his angel wings to slow down Ig and the others, yet he had not used any of the power of light against Verafia.
Gazing at the increasingly brilliant and dense sea of light behind Sariel, where the Origin of Light was faintly condensed, with a hazy and sacred voice, Verafia knew the fallen angel’s delusion. She no longer held back and swung her emerald-gold Sword of Life down.
After dividing his wings, although still immortal, Sariel’s power was undoubtedly much weaker. Facing Verafia’s attack, he found it even harder to cope.
With just a few flashes of sword light, the fallen angel’s figure was already repelled into the domain of light. His divine body was shattered, and his chest, broken like a statue, revealed the laws that had been shattered by the Sword of Life. He knelt down under the hazy form of the Origin of Light.
Verafia’s graceful steps lightly landed in the domain of light. Suddenly, her eyelashes twitched, revealing surprise.
In the ocean of light, a divine radiance of brilliant gold erupted, like the figure of a sacred existence. Then, the light descended, burning the fallen angel like burning fire.
Sariel’s face contorted in pain. In his left hand, a sacred and magnificent golden sacred sword appeared!
—Sacred golden flame burned on his arm and sword. In the angel’s hand was the sacred sword representing judgment!
