Chapter 132: Undead Legion
Chapter 134: Undead Legion
Fast! So fast that even telepathic transmission seemed too slow to keep up. Having lost gravity and air resistance, Yonglan thrust his spear with all his might.
The speed was terrifying. Facing a spear that had entered his vision within an instant, more dangerous than any horror he had encountered before, he could only choose to block!
“Clang!”
The Undead Overlord caught Yonglan’s thrust, but he was also smashed off the Floating Fortress by the terrifying impact, falling to the ground.
However, he had managed to resist with his Blade Spear. Even though he appeared somewhat disheveled, he hadn’t achieved the results Yonglan had envisioned.
“Oh, you could actually catch that. Not bad.”
Yonglan retracted his strike and, while stepping back, unleashed sword energy, instantly sweeping away a group of Construct guards.
“Godslayer… Godslayer! How dare you be so arrogant! Are you truly intending to fight me with your life?!”
Yonglan twirled his spear, his gaze calm but stern:
“Fight with my life? You seem to have misunderstood something. You are now merely livestock waiting to be slaughtered. Struggle harder, beast.”
“Heh… Hahahaha!!” Livestock… You dare call the son of a god livestock!”
The Undead Overlord paused. He realized Yonglan was serious. The Godslayer facing him didn’t see himself as an equal enemy at all; he was truly looked down upon as livestock!
He had never suffered such extreme humiliation, even when fleeing and facing other Celestial Gods!
Instantly, all hesitation and apprehension in the Undead Overlord’s heart were swept away by rage and shame. The skeletal giant plunged its Blade Spear into the ground,
Roaring as if taking an oath:
“I am the son of the Silent Lord! The overlord of the Undead Dynasty.”
“My citizens, rise! With our silent fury, crush our enemies!”
With roars like thunder, endless smoke and black mist spewed from the gaps in the skeletal giant’s armor, converging above him and his immediate retinue into a colossal black ring constructed from infinite runes and patterns. This ring linked all the undead guards together, as if merging them into one.
The flowing clouds shifted under the control of this power, as if an invisible hand was gathering all the energy in heaven and earth. The Undead Overlord’s voice grew louder and louder, from a calm tone to a simultaneous roar of thousands of colossal beasts. The sound waves formed a gale that churned the sky, causing dark clouds to billow and the world to lose its color.
The skeletal giant exuded an incomparably bloody and malevolent killing intent, as if the resentment and curses of hundreds of thousands of slain people were condensed onto the armor of this divine general’s phantom, causing malicious ripples like black light to shimmer on its surface.
“Godslayer, do you know what this is? The Undead Dynasty’s Demigod’s ‘Undead Legion’! If you want to kill me, you must first face my legion and slay us all to win. Godslayer, do you know how many of my personal troops there are? Fifty thousand elite Constructs of the Dynasty!”
The Undead Overlord pointed his Blade Spear at the silent warrior before him. Above the undead legion, the martial phantom, comparable to a Titan god, also extended its long sword, pointing at the Godslayer. The fierce and murderous intent seemed to freeze all living things, making them bow their heads to be slaughtered!
He thought this would earn him some respect from Yonglan, but the warrior merely tilted his head slightly and said,
“Is that all? Sounds like a piece of cake.”
“Bang!” Yonglan stomped the ground and leaped up like a cannonball. The ‘Soul Forging Technique’ formed a giant hammer in the air, which he brought down with immense force.
*BOOM!!!*
The earth and rocks were shattered like biscuits. Waves of soil and rock dust erupted from the fissures in the earth’s crust, smashing and sending swarms of Skeleton Constructs flying.
Simultaneously, countless undead soldiers charged towards where the giant hammer had struck, their charge orderly and rhythmic. The ground trembled under the steps of this skeletal army.
The Undead Overlord strode forward, swinging his Blade Spear, and unleashed a lightning-fast strike at Yonglan, who was much smaller than him.
Yonglan instinctively reached out to block the swift attack, but the moment they made contact, he felt an unbelievable weight.
He quickly tried to dislodge the force, but in that moment of hesitation, Yonglan’s right arm bones were shattered, twisting into a grotesque shape.
Instead of panicking, Yonglan burst into hearty laughter,
“Ha! Not bad, not bad! Now this is starting to feel right! It looks like we’ll have a good fight… ”
The Godslayer spoke, and his right arm healed as if time had rewound. All the scattered flesh and blood reassembled, and a layer of skin with a metallic sheen covered his exposed muscles.
The ‘Breath of Immortality’ could even withstand the attacks of the ‘Mirror-Corroding Duke’, so it was naturally more than capable of handling a Demigod’s assault.
However, the Undead Overlord’s raw Stats seemed to be even higher than the ‘Mirror-Corroding Duke’s’. Was this something he could say?
Yonglan clenched his fist forcefully, and the Spirit Matter concentrated in his arm exploded. He then extended his hand again, and the ‘Soul Devouring Blade’ materialized in his palm. Upon seeing the ‘Soul Devouring Blade’, which posed a great threat to Divinity, the Undead Overlord’s alarm bells rang, and he immediately retreated.
Meanwhile, under his command, countless undead soldiers had reached the edge of the massive pit created by the hammer strike. These battle-hardened elite soldiers had shed all their emotions when they were made into Constructs after death. They silently obeyed all their lord’s commands, showing no fear even when facing a humanoid monster far more dangerous than a Demigod.
With a synchronized metallic grinding sound, they collectively drew a spear, shimmering with a cold, sharp glint, from their backs and hurled it at Yonglan with all their might.
The sound of piercing air was mournful, and over ten thousand metal spears rained down, filling every gap in the air. The ‘Demon-Breaking’, ‘Armor-Piercing’, and ‘Severe Injury’ runes inscribed on them made these spears unstoppable, capable of easily piercing the scales of even a dragon.
Facing the black rain of death launched by countless not-to-be-underestimated spears, Yonglan had no way to dodge.
Of course, it was still inferior to the arrow rain of ‘Mad Hunt Heaven’, but Yonglan didn’t have enough Spirit Matter to counter-attack with arrows at this moment. Using the ‘Soul Forging Technique’ to defend would be extremely inefficient.
He couldn’t completely disregard the wrath of the Undead Dynasty’s Demigod, so Yonglan decided to show a little respect.
He took a deep breath and shouted,
“Ain!!”
As his voice fell, the Platinum-haired Dragon Maiden soared into the sky like a great star from the other side of the black river. Wielding her silver sword, an intense flame instantly arrived.
The ‘Blazing Steel Flames’ were fueled by ultimate resolve, a Dragonflame capable of burning and purifying all foreign matter.
Especially “steel.”
And coincidentally, the metal spears hurled by the undead army were precisely that.
