Chapter 89: I Once Met the Primal King
Chapter 91: I Once Met the Primal King
“Utterly foolish!!”
The old general roared, pushing back Aseran’s suppression with all his might. Crimson cracks spread across his skin as the Spirit Matter within him fueled the Talent Artifice inherited from his Dragon Species.
Dragonflame.
The terrifying heat that warped space scorched the avenue before the palace, melting steel and cracking the earth.

Yet, facing such aggressive flames, Aseran covered her face and laughed maniacally.
“Your laughable flames, they dare to call themselves Dragon? They dare to call themselves the greatest and most noble creation of the Primal King?”
“Let me show you what a true Dragon is! What true Dragonflame feast is!”
The Dragon Princess shifted slightly, raising the long sword in her hand above her head.
“Boom—”
Like the great sun in the sky, brilliant golden light condensed upon the blade, then extended straight forward.
It was Dragonflame solidified to the extreme, so much so that it lost its flame-like form, becoming a coalesced Yangyan.
This was a unique Knight’s ultimate skill of her family, matching their family name.
It was called the [Sword of Blazing Sun].
The sky-piercing, sun-like flame stole nearly all light, plunging the city’s daytime into darkness.
Then, Aseran swung the Sword of Blazing Sun.
“Rumble—
A tearing sound like a raging storm echoed, followed by endless explosions.
The palace was cleaved in two.
The Yangyan’s radiant glow descended instantly, mercilessly engulfing anything in its path.
Streets, city gates, palaces, mountains… all were instantly incinerated, leaving only solidified crimson lava surging on the ground.
Immense amounts of steam rose, shrouding the area where the palace had been annihilated. A Mortal who entered would likely be scalded to the brink of death.
“Tatatat—”
Aseran strode in her military boots across the chasm she had created, approaching the commander of the Imperial Guard.
Even with such a terrifying slash and Dragonflame, the commander of the Imperial Guard of Yaoxing did not die immediately. As an upper-tier Dragon Species, his resistances were maximized.
However, the commander’s state was far from good. His armor was shattered, most of his body turned to charcoal, his blood and life force evaporated.
Undoubtedly, the commander was barely clinging to life, his existence on a countdown.
Aseran coldly gazed at the dying old general and shrugged.
“Well, so be it. Ignorant and corrupt fools, burning into the ashes of a new world is the best fate.”
The Dragon Princess then turned and left. A VTOL aircraft soon landed before her, escorting the expeditionary force commander back to the aerial command ship.
Entering the command room, Aseran had already removed her jacket and gauntlets, casually placing them on the table. She reclined comfortably on the command room’s sofa and looked at the Honor Guard who had also just completed their combat missions, specifically the Platinum-haired Dragon Maiden amongst them.
Blinking her lashes, Aseran smiled.
“My dear sister, what were your battle results in this fight?”
An Honor Guard immediately reported to their liege, “Enesyin Yangyan eliminated thirty-three elite enemy soldiers, shot down six enemy aircraft, and destroyed twelve enemy vehicles. The results were quite substantial.”
Although initially looking down on this “nepotism case,” Enesyin’s constantly increasing power and evident determination had changed his perspective. As the saying goes in the Unified Empire, strength is paramount. As long as you have the power, you are correct.
Aseran: “Good, but still a bit lacking.”
The Platinum-haired Dragon Maiden frowned and said loudly, “I engaged the enemy’s regular army in the suburbs. This was an honorable and equal battle. I disdain engaging the weaker!”
Hearing her sister’s subtly barbed words, Aseran smiled and shook her head, looking towards the command console.
The staff officers also stepped forward to report.
“Your Highness, we have currently suppressed more than half of Yaoxing Fortress’s area, but resistance is still ongoing. We estimate it will take another three to four hours to completely pacify it. If you approve the use of heavy weaponry…”
Before the staff officer could finish, Enesyin spoke.
“Sister!”
The Platinum-haired Dragon Maiden bit her lower lip and said fiercely.
“There’s no need to do such a thing. Merely conquering this city-state doesn’t require turning it into scorched earth.”
“It seems my dear sister truly doesn’t want to add to the casualties. It hurts me, though, when you look at me that way.”
Aseran propped her cheek with one hand and sighed.
“Am I some kind of devil?”
The Dragon Princess was indeed not a bloodthirsty or cruel ruler. She was simply indifferent—indifferent to trivial matters outside her goals, and unwilling to restrain the actions of the Unified Empire’s army.
She wasn’t even a qualified commander, as she delegated almost all tactical operations to the staff department, merely nodding her approval.
Enesyin stared at her sister without a word.
“Forget it. Since that’s the case, cease the bombardment. This conquest ends here.”
Aseran waved her hand, ultimately complying with her sister’s wishes. She then stood up and headed towards her room, with Enesyin following close behind.
The Platinum-haired Dragon Maiden cast a very complex gaze at her sister, who was humming a tune.
Enesyin’s adventures with Yonglan in Sams had restored her confidence and courage. Even facing Celestial Gods, she possessed the valor and bravery to fight and win.
But facing her sister, she still couldn’t go against her will.
It wasn’t out of fear, but because of a bet from years ago.
She had lost utterly and entrusted her life to Aseran. From now on, whatever her sister said or decided, she could only obey. Their personalities were not equal.
Enesyin could absolutely not shamelessly disregard this bet. Her only recourse was to redeem her life from Aseran. Until then, she would have to endure the Empire’s unjust conquests.
“Why…”
Aseran turned her beautiful profile towards her sister. “Hmm?”
“Sister, why are you serving the Empire? Can you truly associate with these crude and violent people? You shouldn’t be like this…”
The Dragon Princess smiled upon hearing this. “Don’t misunderstand. I don’t have much sense of belonging to this Empire, let alone loyalty. From beginning to end, I only acknowledge the Empire’s [Zhaozhao Tianming]. I am doing something incredibly correct, nothing more.”
Aseran lightly pressed her fingertips together and asked Enesyin.
“Do you remember what happened when we were thirteen?”
Enesyin recalled carefully and nodded.
“I remember… That was the day you first completed the Echo Trial. The family was very excited, thinking you would surely…”
The Platinum-haired Dragon Maiden’s words abruptly stopped. She suddenly remembered that it was around that time that her sister had begun to act strange… or rather, become arrogant.
She had initially thought it was a change in mindset of a super genius, but now it seemed… there was more to it?
“It was at that time that I received Destiny, knowing that I was born to have such a mission.”
Aseran’s breathtakingly beautiful and stern face softened with warmth and even a hint of fervor in her memory as she said.
“Because, in the Echo Trial… I met the Primal King.”
