Chapter 12 Capabilities
“Is he… on leave?” Su Jun watched the cod rice ball spinning in the microwave and remembered Sato Shinichi’s empty seat when he left the classroom.
“It’s hot.”
Holding the slightly hot rice ball with his hands, even though it was so hot that he was passing the rice ball back and forth between his hands, his expression remained as cold as ever. This contrast seemed particularly interesting.
“Speaking of which, he seems to often take leave for things, is this the treatment of a good student?”
Leaning against the window in the break room, looking at the clear blue sky outside and the students on the playground who seemed to have an outdoor class next, so they had arrived early and were playing around. A hint of nostalgia flashed in the girl’s cold eyes.
Gently biting into the slightly cooled cod rice ball, the unique salty flavor of the rice ball and the faint taste of cod spread in her mouth. The girl couldn’t help but frown.
“I should have bought the shredded pork floss flavor.”
Although she complained verbally, feeling the slight hunger in her stomach, Su Jun still came to the break room after class to enjoy the afternoon snack she had specially bought. However, due to her own physical condition, she didn’t know why she had bought Sato Shinichi’s favorite cod-flavored rice ball.
Feeling the steaming hot rice mixed with the slightly salty cod meat swallowed into her stomach, a warm sense of satisfaction from the inside out filled her whole body, making her feel comfortable.
“Let’s go back.”
Su Jun casually threw the wrapper into the trash can next to him and washed his hands at the sink, saying lightly. It was the end of the first period in the afternoon, and there would be another class of “Hero Actual Combat Data Analysis” later. This was a class with a very large amount of calculation, and she needed to preview the lecture notes in advance to prepare well.
…
“Ding—”
As the end-of-class bell rang, the bald teacher on the stage finished the last problem at just the right time, without any delay. After writing down today’s after-class exercises on the blackboard, he tidied up his lesson plans and left without looking back.
[I can only say that he is indeed a teacher from Shikoku High School, so amazing even in a regular class!]
Sighing at the teacher’s precise time management and his professional integrity of never dragging classes, Su Jun recorded today’s homework on the blackboard while organizing the books and stationery on the desk, preparing to go home.
As one of the top high schools in the country, the first high school department of Shikoku School also had a very rich extracurricular club activity. Although the academic pressure was not small, the students who could truly come here were all outstanding students from their respective schools, so they still had enough energy to support extracurricular club activities.
Of course, as the true form, Kazumi Shimizu, who was so indifferent and friendless, naturally did not join any clubs. The recruitment flyers given by the enthusiastic senior students at the beginning of the school year were all rejected by the inarticulate Kazumi Shimizu with cold and sharp words. Over time, she could only become a proud member of the “going home club.”
“Moreover, there are other things to do when I get back…” Su Jun said lightly, looking at his fair and tender wrists.
…
“Creak—”
Pushing open the slightly dilapidated door of the house, Su Jun stood at the entrance and rested for a moment, calming his rapid heartbeat caused by climbing three floors in this frail body.
Looking at his destitute room, Su Jun sighed lightly and walked in.
Because his parents died very early, Kazumi Shimizu usually finished her homework at school before returning home. Although the house was inherited from her parents’ legacy, it was only a very dilapidated civilian apartment building. The location was very poor, and the lighting was not good. It was noisy all the time at night, and there was no property management or cleaning staff at all.
The function of this house was probably to provide Kazumi Shimizu with a place to sleep. Although Kazumi Shimizu didn’t have to work part-time outside for money, her predecessor, who was indifferent and had no hobbies, spent most of her time sleeping, looking at her mobile phone, and spacing out in her room.
“What a room that doesn’t look like a fifteen or sixteen-year-old girl’s room at all…”
Pushing the door open and entering the girl’s room, this was probably the only place in the entire house that didn’t look so poor. The lighting was still not good, especially in the evening when the sun was about to set, the entire house was illuminated by the faint light coming through the gap in the window.
She turned on the ceiling light by the wall, and a weak white light instantly spread out. It seemed that the entire house was not equipped with bright light sources. Completely pulling the curtains closed, a sense of security inexplicably surged in her heart.
Putting the school bag on the table, she threw herself onto the soft bed without any scruples, stretched out all her limbs, and let out a super exaggerated stretch.
Putting her hand on her forehead, feeling the slight body temperature emanating from herself, Su Jun sighed softly. The events of today were really a bit magical. Suddenly transmigrating into a girl, and having to act as a stranger and not reveal any flaws so carefully. The only luck was that the previous owner was a cold person who didn’t talk much and didn’t have any close friends, so it was difficult for others to discover any flaws.
“A world of heroes?” Recalling the sights of the day and the memories that had surfaced before, Su Jun instinctively extended his right wrist in front of him.
“The purpose of returning early is not just to avoid being discovered in school!” Following the method in her memory, she placed her left hand on her right wrist, and a strange light flashed. Originally fair and tender wrists now had a terrifying and ferocious skeleton head tattoo.
Looking at the changes in her body, Su Jun was not frightened, but smiled knowingly.
“Is it really like this, my capability!” Dark purple light gathered on the floor to form a strange magic array. In the center of the magic array was a dark void, as if connecting to somewhere.
Slowly, a black cuboid object slowly rose, until it reached almost the ceiling of the small room, and the entire cabinet-sized object completely appeared. The dark purple magic array slowly disappeared, and the black mist entwined around the object also dissipated with the magic array.
Sitting up, she looked seriously at the item she had summoned with her ability. Although she had been psychologically prepared according to her previous memories, she couldn’t help but swallow her saliva when she actually saw it. What appeared before Su Jun was actually a coffin emitting a faint black aura…
