Chapter 14 Capability
The book “Capability Awakening and Personality” stated that everyone’s capability is a manifestation of their spiritual embodiment. People who awaken flame capabilities are generally hot-tempered, or ill-tempered, and a person with a bright inner self certainly cannot awaken dark-type capabilities.
This was also why Kazumi Shimizu had always hidden her capabilities. Although the book only described a theory, the relationship between a person’s spiritual world and personality is ever-changing and cannot be summarized in just a few sentences.
However, this coffin that looked extremely ominous, and the black mist emitting from its surroundings, undoubtedly represented Kazumi Shimizu’s true inner self that she was unwilling to let others see.
Having never felt love since childhood, Kazumi Shimizu, when she first encountered the concept of “death” in her ignorant youth, actually had the thought, “Perhaps it’s not so bad.”
Confined to her home every day, her only pleasure was relying on her meager literacy to partially guess and read the books on the bookshelf. What she feared most was the arrival of night, that feeling of being surrounded by darkness and loneliness, as if she had been abandoned by the entire world.
The coffin symbolizing “death,” and the narrow space inside the coffin, this was the origin of Kazumi Shimizu’s capability, [Black Coffin].
As a late bloomer, Kazumi Shimizu’s capability could be considered very ordinary. Besides using this coffin to transport things, it had no other use.
However, Kazumi Shimizu’s current boss, [Qi], valued precisely this capability of Kazumi Shimizu. The coffin, entwined with a death aura and made of wood, could bypass most current detection methods. Coupled with the ability to burrow underground and a considerable control distance, apart from its extremely small capacity and the inability to carry living things, it was a very good auxiliary capability.
Of course, this was referring to stealing items or some special documents. But that was neither here nor there. Although Kazumi Shimizu was able to attend middle school as she wished with the compensation provided by the organization after her parents’ death, despite receiving education at school, due to her childhood experiences, Kazumi Shimizu’s sense of morality was still weak.
Compared to doing such shady business, Kazumi Shimizu cared more about her own life.
“Gurgle, gurgle, gurgle, gurgle—”
A familiar bell sound rang from the mobile phone with a skeleton charm on the table. Su Jun’s eyes flashed with understanding, he turned and walked over, picked up the phone, and indeed, it was a string of garbled letters. He swiped his thumb and pressed the answer button.
“……”
The call was connected, but there was no sound from the other end, as if it were a wrong number.
“Code 247………. The Dragon Lord will eventually kill the Knight.”
Without bothering to care if the other side could hear, Su Jun spoke to himself according to the words in his memory.
“…….”
There was still no response, as if he had accidentally pressed the play button while the phone was in his pocket. But Su Jun patiently sat down and held the phone firmly between his ear.
“……. Tonight at 2 AM, 21 East Mountain Road.”
A low and faint voice sounded from the other end of the phone. If Su Jun hadn’t focused his attention on it, he might have missed it.
“Beep— beep— beep—”
A busy signal came from the other end of the phone. Su Jun closed the phone and lowered his head to think.
According to his predecessor’s memory, today was the day of the planned operation, and all Su Jun had to do was to help them transport the items out using his capability after the mission was completed.
[But, I will have to face members of an evil organization with their wits about them!]
Selectively ignoring the fact that he himself was also a member of this dark organization, Su Jun’s biggest worry right now was what if his boss, Mr. [Qi], saw that he was different from before. For such an extremely cautious rat, it wouldn’t just be mere suspicion!
However, not going was impossible. Making up some excuse would only make him more suspicious. Once he agreed to join them, it wouldn’t be so easy to leave…
“Whatever, I’ll just stick to the previous disguise. The instincts of this body are quite useful. The most important thing now is to quickly get familiar with how to use the capability.”
He let out a long sigh, placed the phone on the table by the bed, stood up, and walked back in front of the tall coffin.
Its pure black exterior gave off an eerie feeling. As Su Jun approached, the black mist, which was originally of the same origin, began to converge towards him. The coffin itself emitted a faint smell of decay, similar to the stench of a corpse, and also like the moldy smell of wood left for a long time. But that same origin of power made Su Jun inexplicably feel a sense of closeness.
Slightly raising his right hand, the jet-black coffin lid gently opened, revealing a pitch-black interior, and its empty wooden internal structure.
“This is!!”
Su Jun’s small eyes suddenly narrowed. His eternally unchanging face showed an expression of immense shock, looking at the virtual panel floating in front of the coffin with disbelief.
[Territory Name: Black Coffin]
[Size: 1.5 sq m]
[Buildings: None]
[Creatures: None]
[Technology: None]
……
[Traits: 1. Death Expansion: Can continuously expand internal space by consuming death aura.]
The sudden appearance of this extremely familiar panel made Su Jun freeze in place. If he wasn’t hallucinating, then this thing that looked like a game panel in front of him was exactly the basic territory panel of the game that caused him to transmigrate, the game that made him stay up all night playing, “Undead Lord”!
He turned his body around with some disbelief, only to find that the panel was firmly attached to this black coffin. No matter how he changed his angle to look at it, it still floated in front of the coffin.
“Could this be a capability brought about by transmigration?”
He re-examine his predecessor’s memories carefully, but couldn’t find the slightest bit of memory related to this panel. Combined with his experience before transmigration, and having read many transmigration novels, Su Jun had a general idea of what this panel was.
“In that case, is it possible?”
Extending his hand to slide across this familiar black panel, and remembering the entire operational mode of the game, Su Jun touched his chin, and new ideas began to emerge in his mind.
