Chapter 66 Inquiry
Dragonji’s sudden question surprised Kazumi, and a hint of panic appeared on her cold little face. She didn’t know how to respond to this powerful hero she had only seen on television.
“Her name is Kazumi Shimizu, she’s a classmate of mine. Kazumi isn’t very good at talking to strangers, so Aunt Dragonji, please don’t make it difficult for her!”
The white bandaged person stood in front of her again. Although not tall, his body exuded a faint medicinal scent, giving off an exceptionally reassuring feeling, as if nothing could harm her when protected behind him.
“Oh~ You mean I’m a stranger too?!”
Dragonji first let out a meaningful “oh,” then reached out and fiercely patted Sato Shinichi’s head, which revealed a few strands of golden hair, and said.
“Ah, it hurts! It hurts! It doesn’t count, Aunt Dragonji is my dearest aunt!”
Shinichi cried out in pain. Sato Shinichi couldn’t escape Dragonji’s clutches and had to answer obediently.
“Hmph, seeing you all lively and kicking, I shouldn’t have worried so much. I dropped everything and came straight here when I heard you were injured!”
Listening to Sato Shinichi’s reply, a smile curved Dragonji’s lips. She reluctantly ruffled his hair a couple more times and continued.
“This bandaged head doesn’t have a good feel. You’ll have to make up for it later!”
“I’ll go bald!!!”
Holding his head with both hands, he looked at Dragonji in front of him with a wronged expression. This aunt, who watched him grow up, had always been good to him, except for her persistent habit of patting his head.
“Don’t worry, don’t worry. If you go bald, you’ll get stronger! I’m going to talk to your master first and leave you two lovebirds some private time. I’ll come back for you later.”
Dragonji waved her hand carelessly. She had come for Sato Shinichi. Since he was fine, she might as well go ask Hamano Tsukasa what happened and catch up.
But halfway there, Dragonji suddenly turned around, pointed at Kazumi, who was protected behind Sato Shinichi, and said with a playful tone.
“Little Kazumi, right? I really like your eyes~ I approve of you two!”
Then she strode out of the hospital room, leaving behind an empty room with a large hole in it and two people standing there in a daze.
Kazumi was still somewhat bewildered. Perhaps for a data-oriented player like her, a large influx of information at once could easily cause her brain’s CPU to crash.
The information described [Dragonji]’s personality as: a powerful hero who acts as she pleases. Kazumi believed she had a good understanding of “acts as she pleases,” but she never expected one of the Heroes Association’s strongest combatants to have such a personality.
Not to mention her close relationship with Sato Shinichi, what was the meaning of her pointing at her and saying those words? Parental approval?
So, did she gain the favor of her future mother-in-law?
But if she, with no background, married into a heroic family so easily, she would be bullied. However, Dragonji didn’t seem like the vicious mother-in-law who would bully her daughter-in-law!
[Stop! No one is here now, so you don’t need to let yourself go! Please bring back your reason, and forget all these strange thoughts!]
Kazumi, whose reason had returned, shook her head, clearing her mind of tons of romantic thoughts. This behavior was too dangerous. With her current body, if she lost control for even a moment, her mind would be occupied by all sorts of strange thoughts. It wouldn’t be surprising if she woke up in Sato Shinichi’s bed one day!
On the other side, Sato Shinichi also stood there in a daze, mainly because of Dragonji’s words before she left. Although Dragonji’s usual behavior was always unreliable, she had been pursuing Hamano Tsukasa and watched Sato Shinichi grow up, making her one of the most important elders to Sato Shinichi.
Now that their relationship had the approval of an elder, how could Sato Shinichi not be happy?
He turned to look at Kazumi, who was still standing there in a daze. Thinking his girlfriend was scared by the sudden turn of events, Sato Shinichi quickly said.
“Actually, Aunt Dragonji is a very good person. It’s just that the way she does things is… well, special. Kazumi, don’t be scared. I think Aunt Dragonji quite likes you.”
Nudged by Sato Shinichi’s hand, Kazumi awoke from her thoughts. Looking at a purebred mummy standing in front of her, Kazumi frowned and gently supported Sato Shinichi’s arm, saying.
“Mmm, but you should lie down in bed first.”
Grandpa Sato and the strongman who was taking care of Sato Shinichi had already gone out earlier, presumably to deal with the destruction of the hospital.
And now she could finally stop being controlled by that damned body’s instincts. Forcing Sato Shinichi onto the bed, she really didn’t know how he managed to make such a move, even though he was injured all over and still shielded her when they were in danger.
“Ouch, thank you.”
After being gently pushed onto the bed by her small hands, Sato Shinichi realized that this was his girlfriend’s concern for him. In fact, Sato Shinichi wanted to say that he was almost recovered, but given that he needed to maintain his identity as a civilian, he could only obediently lie on the bed and gaze at his cold-faced little girlfriend.
Looking at Sato Shinichi lying on the bed obediently like a big golden retriever, a sense of satisfaction inexplicably flashed through Kazumi’s heart, as if her own pet was exceptionally obedient, giving her a desire to raise it.
She nonchalantly took an apple from the fruit basket on the side, then picked up a fruit knife from beside it. Looking at Sato Shinichi on the bed, she said expressionlessly.
“Can you tell me what happened yesterday? Shinichi-kun, what happened to you really worried me…”
[Although I know you want to peel the apple for me, saying it with such an expressionless face is really scary!!]
The light reflecting off the blade shone on Sato Shinichi’s face, making him shiver uncontrollably. He also knew that this was just the girl’s habit. He shifted his body unnaturally.
Even though this level of knife could not harm him, when Kazumi held it, he always felt a strange stinging sensation all over his body.
His mind raced, and he recalled what Hamano Tsukasa had told him before. A flicker of guilt flashed in his eyes, but he still spoke.
“It was because…”
