A comfortable continuous update!

The final installment of the recorded footage of the Evil God War began with the continuation of the final battle against the Evil God.

This was a battle against the *real* Evil God, not just a fragment of it, as we had fought before.

At the forefront stood Hero Alex.

In his hands, he wielded two swords: the “Absolute God Sword Altihate,” a weapon of the highest specifications even in the Nekoneko world, and the “Knight Sword Shieru,” crafted from the sacrifice of his beloved, Princess Ciel of Light. He faced the Evil God.

Among the heroes known as the Ten Greats, Sword Saint Ruden, Death God Phin, and Divine Archer Roden had fallen. With Princess Ciel of Light transforming into a sword, their numbers had been halved.

Yet, even so, or perhaps precisely because of it, the humans were overwhelming the Evil God.

“…Crumble.”

With a voice like crumbling earth, grotesque tentacles roared towards the hero.
But…

“Don’t underestimate me!!”

He merely swung the Knight Sword Shieru in his right hand, and the tentacles were effortlessly bisected.
Of course, this was to be expected.

The Knight Sword Shieru he wielded contained the lives of two people: the demon Richter and Princess Ciel. In gaming terms, it held the power of two high-level characters.
The weapon’s attack power would naturally be correspondingly high, and Alex’s primary stats, wielding the Knight Sword Shieru, would likely be doubled due to the weapon’s status bonuses.

And then…

“I’ll use my ‘trump card’! Cover me!”

The tide of battle shifted further.
Magician Nameless, who had remained silent until now, began to chant.

Of course, the Evil God would not allow this.
It immediately turned its attention back to Nameless, fixing him with its evil gaze.

“Massacre Flash.”

As the words were spoken, a one-hit kill “Massacre Flash” was unleashed.
The deadly light, traveling in a straight line towards Nameless, did not reach his body.

“Not on my watch!!!”

With a roar, Hero Alex intervened.
The beam that struck him as he cut in was dispersed as if it had never existed.

This was the characteristic of his Absolute God Sword Altihate.
A cheat-like ability that nullified all long-range attacks against its wielder.
Ironically, with fewer allies to protect due to fallen comrades, Alex’s ability was being utilized to its fullest.

The rapid offense and defense, leaving no room to breathe, made me shudder.
I also shuddered at myself for my own mental captions of “Massacre Flash” appearing after being trained by Sahzan to use “Kill Beam.”

And at last…

“Thank you for waiting! ‘Time Stop’!!”

Nameless’s spell was completed.

A triangular prism-shaped field formed, as if to seal the Evil God, and the Evil God, trapped within the transparent space, stopped its movements precisely.

“This magic will only last for ten seconds! In that time…”

Nameless shouted, holding his hand out towards the Evil God.
Alex responded, moving in tandem.

“Ten seconds is more than enough!”

He readjusted his stance with his twin swords and turned to his companions.

“Luna! Give me your best support!
Giya-mon! Shizu! Immediately after the magic is dispelled, launch a coordinated attack on the core! synchronize!!”

Without looking back, he charged towards the Evil God.

“Leave it to me! All Rise!!”

Following him, Princess Luna’s support magic rained down.

“Oh my, I’m a rear guard, yet the hero is such a taskmaster.”
“Hmph. I shall show you the true essence of Hyouryuu Kenjutsu now.”

Macho Healer Giya-mon and Cat Ear Swordsman Shizu followed in his wake.

“Gah! The magic is dispelling!”

Simultaneously with Nameless’s words, the field that had confined the Evil God dissipated, and three shadows plunged in.

“I’ll be the first one in!”

A massive body leaped forward, severing the tentacles that could barely react, creating a path to the core.
Into the gap thus created, Shizu the swordsman slipped in like a cat.

“It’s not over yet. Hyouryuu Secret Technique, Clear Stream!!”

The sword flash, dodged through the tentacles, accurately gouged the Evil God’s core.

“…Is it shallow? However, I have created a path.”

And from Shizu’s shadow, leaping up, was, of course,

“This is the end!!!”

Hero Alex, wielding his twin swords.

“This is our, humanity’s, power! Tenha, Infinite Soaring Sword!!”

Alex’s twin swords struck the very center of the Evil God, its frantically pulsing red core!
For a moment, the crimson core and Alex’s swords were in a stalemate, but it lasted only an instant.

“Well done.”

Cracks appeared in the Evil God’s core, and then…

“Thank… you…”

The crimson core shattered into pieces.

As if following suit, the Evil God’s massive body collapsed, transforming into particles of light.
And within seconds, only the fragments of the shattered red core remained.

“We… defeated them…
We… defeated the Evil God…”

Alex muttered in a hollow voice.
It was understandable.

Despite their victory, the losses sustained by Alex and his companions were immense.
Nearly half their comrades were killed, their city burned, and they had lost the person dearest to them.

But still, they had won.
They had triumphed over that Evil God.

“…Thank you for saving me, Nameless. Was that the new spell you were developing?”
“Yes. The Evil God was impervious to all status ailments.
So I thought, why not create a magic that stops time?”
“Haha. That’s incredible.”

They forced smiles onto their faces and praised each other’s efforts.
They believed this would surely serve as a tribute to the fallen.

“Well, this magic relies heavily on individual skill, and it’s unlikely anyone other than myself can use it.
Perhaps it could be implemented in a magic item, but it seems no longer necessary.”
“Then why not use it for peaceful purposes?
For example, how about a ‘Cooler Box’ that stops time to preserve food?”
“That… is a good idea. It would probably sell, and more importantly, no one would get hurt.”

The two, still smiling despite their wounds, were interrupted by Shizu the cat ear swordsman.

“Wait, both of you. Isn’t something strange?”
“Huh?”

What Shizu pointed to were the fragments of the Evil God’s core scattered on the ground.

“They’re fragments of the Evil God’s core, right? What’s wrong with them?”

The crimson fragments had completely lost their color and showed no signs of anything happening.
However, Shizu shook her head.

“We should have defeated the Evil God. So why haven’t these turned to light and remain here?”

At her words, a shiver ran down my spine.
It seemed Alex and the others felt the same. Their eyes, which had been relaxed just moments before, suddenly sharpened.

But it was too late.

“The core… fragments…”

The fragments of the core lying on the ground.
They began to gather, heading towards a single location.

“Be careful, it’s not over yet!!”

The gathering core fragments fused together, gradually forming a larger mass.
Like pieces of a three-dimensional puzzle, they combined, eventually reconstructing into a near-spherical shape…

“There’s no time to be dazed! Attack!”

Nameless’s words snapped the heroes back to attention.

“Thunderclap Charge!”
“Hyouryuu Secret Technique, Clear Stream!”
“Cross Break!!”

The reconstructing core, as it progressed, had no means to resist the combined attacks from the heroes.
As attacks were piled on, it cracked with sharp sounds, and in the next moment, shattered.

Seeing this, Alex and the others finally breathed a sigh of relief.

“What was that? So unsettling…”

In contrast to Alex, who had relaxed his expression, Nameless alone did not let his guard down.

“Please do not let your guard down. If my hypothesis is correct…”

As if to confirm his words, the core fragments scattered on the ground began to gather once more.

“What the hell is this!”

Alex cursed, and without holding back, he attacked the core fragments again.
But…

“So… hard?”
“This is strange, Alex! This is wrong!”

Giya-mon’s blow, with its almost violent pressure, Shizu’s slash, boasting incredible sharpness, and even the attack from the Knight Sword Shieru, which should have possessed overwhelming power, failed to inflict sufficient damage on the regenerating core.

“Is it… getting bigger than before?”

Shizu muttered in bewilderment.
She was likely spot on.

From my perspective as an observer, it was clear.
The Evil God’s core, which was now taking shape, was at least one size larger than before, and likely harder.

“—Second form?”

Such a thought crossed my mind.
Perhaps for a sequel, although it was never implemented, the Evil God was originally intended to be a boss conceived by the Nekoneko staff.
If so, it wouldn’t be impossible for it to have the characteristic of changing into a second form midway through, as is common with final bosses.

“—No.”

Something felt different, my gamer’s intuition whispered.
Yes, rather than that…

“I have a bad feeling! Full power! Smash that thing again!”

Nameless’s words pulled me back to reality.
Alex and the others were desperately trying to destroy the regenerating core with all their might.

However, it was not going well.
It was an enemy that didn’t even counterattack, yet it was simply hard.
Attacks that had easily landed before were deflected, and blows that should have been decisive now bounced off.

And as time passed without a finishing blow, a few seconds.
Right after the crimson core pulsed with an eerie glow.

“That” resounded.

“—The Absolute Invincible Calamity God.”

It was undeniably a “voice.”
Although there should have been no mouth, only a tattered orb remaining, I somehow knew clearly that it was the Evil God’s “voice.”

“Ah… ahhh…”
“No…, way…”

The heroes stood frozen, their despairing groans escaping their lips.
But that too was natural.

From the part that had been the crimson core, a cracking sound began.
A section of the crimson orb swelled and deformed, forming a head.
Like a chick breaking out of an eggshell, protrusions emerged from the orb, transforming into arms and tentacles.
And in just over ten seconds, it was over.

What now loomed before Alex and the others was no longer the Evil God’s “core.”

—Before their eyes stood the complete form of the Evil God, with a head and arms, glaring down at the world in perfect condition.

Those who are familiar with such stories might have already guessed, but this is akin to the hidden bosses sometimes found in RPGs.

Details in the next chapter, “End Content,” to be updated tomorrow!!

Ah, sorry, that was a joke.
Well, it’s not entirely a joke, but it’s an advertisement for a new release.

It’s a recommended book where Tiel appears, and the story is slightly different from the web version—or perhaps not that different. If you’re interested, please check it out!
