The Amamiya Tower has several floors that are in a peculiar state as a result of Kousuke’s various actions.
Among them, the most unique floor is probably the one where Slime Island exists.
This floor consists solely of an island inhabited only by Slimes among monsters, with the rest being sea.
In a sense, it is precisely because of this environment, akin to a remote island in the sea, that even Slimes, known as the weakest of monsters, can survive.
Of course, such an environment would not exist naturally; it was created by Kousuke for the Slimes.
And when the breeding of Slimes alone was successfully accomplished, the women were all left with expressions of astonishment.
For them, it was incomprehensible why he would go to such lengths to create an island solely for Slimes.
It was to this Slime Island that Kousuke had brought Silvia and Floria.
There wasn’t any particular reason for it; he had simply come to check on the Slimes.
“Have you been well, Rin?”
Kousuke greeted Rin, the master of the island, upon visiting Slime Island for the first time in a while. Rin trembled with apparent joy.
After that, Sura, who had accompanied them, hopped out from Kousuke’s embrace, and they began to tremble together.
“…Are they perhaps conversing?”
“Who knows? I can’t possibly tell that much,” Kousuke replied, shaking his head helplessly at Silvia’s question.
Recently, there’s been speculation that Kousuke can converse with Slimes, but he couldn’t discern what Rin and Sura were discussing.
As Kousuke shook his head, Floria directed a teasing gaze at him.
“Really? I thought Kousuke might understand.”
“No, it’s impossible.”
“I see. What a shame.”
Kousuke didn’t understand what was a shame, but he deliberately didn’t pry further.
He had a premonition that pushing the matter would only lead to trouble.
Whether or not they could hear Kousuke’s conversation, Rin and Sura continued to tremble.
Judging by their appearance, it was impossible not to think they were conversing.
He felt like asking what they were talking about, but there was nothing he could do. No matter how much Floria teased him, if Kousuke couldn’t do it, he couldn’t.
While watching the two Slimes, Silvia asked Kousuke, without looking at him, “So, why were we brought here this time?”
The reason Silvia and Floria were here was that Kousuke had invited them without stating any particular purpose. It was natural for Silvia to ask.
Kousuke tilted his head at Silvia’s question. “Hmm? Didn’t I tell you?”
“I didn’t hear anything.”
“You didn’t hear,” Silvia and Floria replied almost simultaneously to Kousuke’s query.
All Kousuke had told the two of them was “Let’s go out together.” Since Silvia and Floria had no urgent matters, they had simply agreed and followed him.
Kousuke glanced at Kouhi and Mitsuki and, realizing they knew the truth, looked flustered and scratched his head. “Ah, sorry. There’s really nothing in particular. I just thought we could take a walk and have lunch.”
As Kousuke spoke and looked at Kouhi, she conjured a table and chairs, creating an impromptu comfortable space. Naturally, the number of chairs included those for Kouhi and Mitsuki.
Both Silvia and Floria exchanged glances and then gave a wry smile at Kousuke’s slight absentmindedness. “Honestly… If that’s the case, you should have told us from the start?”
“That’s right. We didn’t need such a surprise, you know?” Silvia said this deliberately, knowing that it had ended up being a surprise and not as a jab at Kousuke. It wasn’t meant to be an accusation; it also contained a touch of embarrassment, as if to say, “Why be so formal?” In the end, both Silvia and Floria were happy with the situation.
The small hill where Rin lived offered a scenic view. From there, one could look around and see that they were on an island, surrounded by the sea in all directions.
“The view is as good as ever, isn’t it?” Even Floria, who had been here many times, was impressed by the scenery once more.
“It truly is. And even though nothing is blocking the view, the wind strength is just right.”
“That’s true.” With nothing around, the sea breeze could have been strong. However, it wasn’t; only a gentle, refreshing breeze occasionally blew.
But to Silvia and Floria, who commented on this, Kousuke said with a tilt of his head, “Hmm? You haven’t noticed?”
“Noticed what?” Kousuke continued as Floria asked with a tilt of her head. “Well, the wind blowing around here is being regulated by Rin’s barrier.”
“What!?” At Kousuke’s explanation, Floria looked at Silvia with a surprised expression.
Silvia, receiving Floria’s gaze, widened her eyes and looked around. “…I hadn’t noticed at all. Is it really Rin’s barrier?”
“Yes, it is. Though, rather than something made with magic power, it’s more based on nature, like the Elf Village,” Kousuke explained.
Hearing Kousuke’s explanation, Silvia looked around again. And indeed, as Kousuke said, she could see a barrier maintaining a mild climate in their location. The reason she hadn’t noticed until Kousuke mentioned it was because the barrier was so seamlessly integrated into the natural environment.
“…Indeed, there is. You truly can’t tell unless someone points it out,” Silvia, who was skilled in barrier magic among the women, admitted. The fact that she, with her abilities, hadn’t noticed meant that everyone else likely hadn’t either.
“Even Silvia couldn’t notice. Rin’s abilities are truly formidable.”
“Well, she is Sura’s parent, after all.” Whether a parent-child relationship could exist between Slimes was unknown, but considering Rin was Sura’s origin, calling her a parent was not unreasonable. Furthermore, Rin wasn’t the master of Slime Island for nothing.
Nodding as if convinced by Kousuke’s words, Floria turned her gaze to Rin and Sura. “Seeing them like that, I can believe they’re parent and child.”
“I agree.” Kousuke nodded similarly, his gaze on Rin and Sura. The two Slimes were still trembling there. Their movements were practically unchanged, but it was strange how they seemed to fit the description of parent and child once you thought of it that way.
Watching them nearby, their actions appeared to be merely unique movements, but given how long they had been doing it, it was certain that some form of conversation was taking place. However, none present could know the content of it.
It was my first time visiting Slime Island in a while. Or rather, it was my first time seeing Rin in a while lol. Just to clarify, Rin is the parent and Sura is the child, you know? Ah, you knew? I see.
