Let’s Manage the Tower – Chapter 12

The tower finally appeared, but…

Several days were spent preparing for the expedition from the day we decided to conquer it.

At least on the field leading to the tower, food could be procured locally through hunting, so we only prepared tents and cooking utensils.

We traveled to the tower by Kou and the other Hiryu, and it was ultimately decided to investigate the tower on-site to determine how to conquer it.

This was because there was almost no information about the Central Tower.

What we knew was that there were a total of seven towers on the continent, all gathered in the central part of the continent.

There was one in the very center of the continent, and six more surrounding it. As for information about the interiors, almost none was gathered.

Since we were there, we decided to aim for the central tower. Thank goodness for Hiryu.

In the end, we had no trouble with food or anything else along the way, and after about ten days, we arrived at our destination tower.

“It’s so big…”

Kousuke’s first words upon reaching the foot of the tower.

From a distance, it looked exactly like a “tower.”

The fact that the summit was lost in the mist bothered me a little, but that was all.

After that, I was riding Kou but not getting anycloser, so I finally thought, “Huh?”

And now, looking at the wall of the tower before me, I stood there dumbfounded.

Not only its height but also its width was immense.

Without ever having seen it, I imagined the Great Wall of China, which must be due to the immense distance where I couldn’t see the end.

We couldn’t just stand there gaping forever, so we decided to enter.

The entrance was not a door but a gaping, large opening.

From there, the party entered.

“…A tower?”
“…It’s a tower?”
“…It’s a tower, isn’t it…”

Even though we should have been inside the tower, looking up, we saw the blue sky.

Since Kou and the others could fly without issue, we decided to ride them and investigate.

The result was that there wasn’t another tower inside; we found out that the grassland with the blue sky was simply the first floor of the central tower.

How did we know it was the first floor?

It was simple.

While investigating, we found a teleport gate with “Second Floor Entrance” written on it.

By the way, we knew it was a teleport gate because Kouhi had gone ahead to investigate.

As we passed through the teleport gate, the scenery was the same as the first floor.

We investigated again, riding on Kou and the others.

There seemed to be monsters on the ground (?), but since we were riding Hiryu, we ignored them.

I checked with Mitsuki, and she said that the monsters around the tower were actually stronger.

Similarly, this time we found the entrance to the third floor and passed through the teleport gate, taking care not to cause any trouble, just saying, “Hello there (monster).”

And again, the same grassland (etc.).

What I realized anew after conquering the tower.

What I had known from before, Kouhi and Mitsuki are cheats.

Most of the monsters appearing in the tower were no match for them.

Admittedly, as we went higher, they couldn’t defeat them in one hit anymore, but no one could defeat the two of them working in concert. They protected Kousuke properly.

Even the dragons that appeared after the 90th floor were quickly defeated, leaving Kousuke with nothing but a dry chuckle. However, this repeated many times, and eventually, he got used to it.

There were traps along the way, but even those that would normally cause instant death were avoided through brute force (magic).

It’s a side note that Kousuke’s Trap (Avoidance + Detection) skill level increased because of this.

As a result, we spent quite a number of days conquering the tower, losing track of the date because we were inside for so long.

Below is a summary of up to just before conquering the tower.

After passing through the teleport gate on the 100th floor, we entered a small room, and then through the door of that room, we entered a slightly larger room with three large crystals floating.

I immediately checked my surroundings with my left eye.

Name: Magic Crystal
Remarks: A crystal that can store magic power. It is connected to the Divine Power Crystal on each floor of the tower.

Name: Holy Power Crystal
Remarks: A crystal that can store holy power. It is connected to the Divine Power Crystal on each floor of the tower.

Name: Divine Power Crystal
Remarks: A crystal that can store divine power. It is connected to the Magic and Holy Power Crystals on each floor of the tower.

Name: Tower Operation Control Panel
Remarks: Used to control and operate the tower. Various commands can be issued from here.

As we confirmed each one, the three of us (Hiryu had been sent back to the ground) approached the control panel and the crystals.

As we got somewhat close to the control panel, the room changed.

Lights turned on in the dimly lit room. At the same time, Kouhi and Mitsuki became wary.

“Tower conquest confirmed. Those who wish to rule the tower, please place your hand here. Those who do not wish to rule the tower can move outside through the teleport gate at the back.”

A voice came from the control panel.

I signaled to Kouhi and Mitsuki, who were still on guard, that it was alright.

“Kousuke-sama?”
“It’s alright. …Probably.”

The voice I had just heard was Asura’s. Unfortunately, it sounded like a recording, so it didn’t seem like we could talk directly.

“By the way, is it really okay for me to do this?”

I asked them, confirming it now.

Even with the most generous interpretation, I didn’t think I had contributed much to conquering the tower.

“Of course.”
“Who else is there besides Kousuke-sama? There’s no one other than you that Mitsuki and I can agree on.”

Kousuke was pushed forward by Mitsuki towards the control panel.

Before touching the control panel, I looked back one more time to confirm their nods.

Steeling myself, I placed my right hand on the control panel.

“Contact with control panel confirmed. Registration for Tower Ruler commencing… Contacting each tower… Complete. Please register your name as the Tower Ruler.”

After a slight hesitation, Kousuke decided to use a different name.

He felt it would be easier to move that way.

“Amamiya.”

“…Amamiya, registration complete. Congratulations. Your registration as the Tower Ruler is now complete.”

Thus, the first Tower Ruler of the Central Tower of Asgard was born.

This would be communicated to the rulers of the towers on each continent, who had already completed their conquests.

As it turned out later, when a tower is newly conquered or its ruler changes, other towers are notified.

At this time, Kousuke had no idea.

On this day, the history of Asgard began to move anew.

Kouhi and Mitsuki conquered it so quickly.

I wrote it briefly in the text (because if I wrote all 100 floors, I wouldn’t be able to manage it), but the actual conquest took quite a few days. Each floor is very large.

While returning from work, I was run over by a car. At that time, my soul goes out and was transferred to another world. The goddess I met sent me out to the world she manages. In that world, I captured a tower and managed it. I accepted various demi-human races(including humans) in the tower to develope it.
