I have posted chapter 1 at 8 PM today. Please be careful not to skip it.
Chapter 2: Explanation.
After finishing the management of the management layer for the time being, Kousuke began managing the tower floors.
Regarding the tower floors, even in their default state, there is an income of 100 Divine Power points per day.
This is because subjugation points are earned from the monsters in the lower floors fighting amongst themselves for territory.
While monsters in the middle and upper floors yield more points per individual subjugation, high-ranking monsters are intelligent and completely partition their territories, so they rarely engage in disputes.
Therefore, subjugation points are rarely earned regularly in the middle and upper floors.
By the way, in its default state, the lower floors are from the 1st to the 40th Floor, the middle floors are from the 41st to the 70th Layer, and the upper floors are from the 71st to the 100th Floor. This is purely Kousuke’s criteria.
There are two methods for making monsters appear on each floor.
One is when they naturally appear due to the natural environment set up on the floor.
The other is when a summoning circle is placed on the floor from the Management Menu to make them appear.
When placing a summoning circle, it naturally uses the three types of points.
For example, a Slime Summoning Circle would look like this:
Name: Slime Summoning Circle
Rank: Monster Rank F
Installation Cost: 100pt (Divine Power) or a total of 50,000pt (Holy Power + Magic Power)
Explanation: Summons up to 1000 Slimes randomly. Subjugating 1000 Slimes yields approximately 110 Divine Power points.
There are two problems with using summoning circles.
It is cheaper in terms of cost to install them using Holy Power and Magic Power than Divine Power.
This is problem one. How do you recover Holy Power and Magic Power?
Answer. They are automatically recovered once a day.
In the first place, Holy Power and Magic Power are naturally generated from the nature placed on each floor. While they can also be generated by using magic or holy power, not limited to humans or monsters, the amount generated from nature is minuscule in comparison.
Since Kousuke manages a tower with 100 floors, Holy Power and Magic Power are automatically replenished from each floor every single day. However, the replenishment is limited to once a day and up to a maximum capacity of 1,000,000pt for both Holy and Magic Power crystals.
Furthermore, problem two. The number of slimes summoned is random.
This means that sometimes, even if you spend 100 Divine Power points to install it and then subjugate all the slimes that appear, you won’t necessarily get 100 Divine Power points back.
This is entirely due to luck, and Kousuke cannot adjust it.
For these two reasons, it is not possible to simply place a summoning circle and then have Kouhi and Mitsuki go on a subjugation rampage.
Furthermore, the summoning circles that can currently be installed only summon low-level monsters, so the points obtained from subjugation are small. It is completely not commensurate with the effort and cost.
“…And that’s why…”
While looking at the management screen, Kousuke was rambling through his thoughts, and Kouhi and Mitsuki listened, nodding with admiration.
“…I see, as expected.”
“Wow. That’s amazing.”
“You think so…? …I think it’s just a matter of getting used to it.”
Kousuke’s ideas clearly stem from a “game brain.”
“Getting used to it, you say…”
“If you don’t properly consider the income and expenses, it will quickly fall apart. Well, since Holy Power and Magic Power accumulate on their own, there won’t be self-destruction.”
“So? …What are you going to do?”
“I’ll place a summoning circle.”
Kousuke’s immediate answer made Kouhi show a questioning expression, and Mitsuki looked doubtful.
“…What do you mean?”
“The summoning circles that can be placed now may indeed not be cost-effective, but we don’t know what will come out in the future. I think the types of installations will probably increase as the Tower LV goes up.
Also, I don’t know how to raise the Tower LV. This is a complete guess, but the number of summoning circles placed might be a condition. Ultimately, we won’t know until we try.”
“Then, are you saying that you and I will subjugate monsters?”
“No. That’s not it. As I said before, it’s too inefficient for the two of you to do it. It might be fine for the beginning, though.”
“Then what will you do?”
“It’s not like only we ourselves have to enter the tower, right?”
At Kousuke’s words, the two of them gasped.
But soon, they showed doubtful expressions.
“However, how do you plan to lure adventurers here?”
The reason why the Central Tower had not yet been conquered was that it was considered too difficult to reach.
“When I checked earlier, I found something good.”
“Something good? What is it?”
To the two who were curious, Kousuke displayed something on the management screen.
Name: Teleport Gate (External)
Installation Cost: 10,000pt (Divine Power)
Explanation: A teleportation gate that connects any arbitrary point outside the tower to any floor within the tower.
Bidirectional and one-way settings are possible.
This is precisely the kind of facility that would be useful for the Central Tower, which adventurers cannot normally reach.
“Hmm. I see. So you plan to use this to lure adventurers and have them do the subjugation.”
“That’s one of the goals, but not the only one.”
When he found this, Kousuke thought of an idea.
“What do you mean? What do you mean by that?”
“First, we’ll charge a toll for using the teleportation gate. If we can make people think that they can make money just by coming into the tower, they will definitely use it even if they have to pay a toll.
But that alone wouldn’t be meaningful. They would still be temporary guests of the tower.”
Kousuke paused for a moment, took a breath, and continued.
“Therefore, to create people who will be active within the tower on a permanent basis, we will build a city inside the tower. …Of course, it will start at the level of just a few houses. I think the width of each floor in this tower is sufficient… What do you think?”
After Kousuke’s sudden outburst, the two were silent for a while, contemplating.
Eventually, as if they had sorted things out amongst themselves, they posed their questions to Kousuke.
They were not trying to thwart Kousuke’s plan. It was to fill in as many loopholes as possible before proceeding with the plan.
“To have people settle down, housing will be necessary, what will you do?”
“I checked that too, and it was among the installations. A standard-sized house costs 20,000pt. I think it would be fine to build about ten houses at first.”
“And after that?”
“It would be better to have craftsmen come and build them. To save points.”
“Will people actually live in the residences within the tower?”
“It will probably be difficult at first. However, if we make them think that having a base here is more convenient, we’ll have them.”
“…We’ll also need to adjust the monster placement for the entire tower.”
“We have to make them think that they can earn money.”
As they brought up more and more questions and resolved them so they could be executed, Kousuke also came up with questions and proposed them to the two.
As the three of them discussed various things, time flew by. When the plan finally started to take shape, Mitsuki made a final proposal.
“This is a proposal, but could you lend me some of the magic power accumulated in the crystals for a while?”
“Hmm? What do you mean?”
In response to Kousuke’s question, Kouhi answered concisely.
“Summoning.”
“Yes. If we try to implement what we’ve just discussed, we’ll be short on hands no matter how you look at it. And using external humans, at least for the initial stage, is not advisable, even if it’s okay later on.”
“Instead of Kousuke, who will be busy managing the tower, taking the lead, I think it would be better to leave the external communication to those we summon. By the way, I would like to have some Holy Power.”
Kousuke nodded at the proposal. He hadn’t thought of summoning people for help.
“Understood. In any case, I’ll be busy adjusting the tower for a while, so it would be better to have you summon them and have them handle external coordination during that time.”
“Yes, let’s do that.”
“Understood.”
As the two nodded, the future policy was completely solidified.
There are still some parts that feel improvised, but it can’t be helped as we won’t know what will happen until we actually try it.
Thus, the full-scale management of the tower began.
By the way… it would be much later when the three of them realized that they still hadn’t decided on a proper name for the tower.
The next chapter is scheduled to be updated tomorrow at 8 PM.
By the way, in towers with low floors, Holy Power and Magic Power also need to be managed properly.
In Kousuke’s case, because the tower has 100 floors, it’s not so much that they accumulate daily, but rather they accumulate daily because there are many floors with high-level environments.
