The first half is an explanation chapter.
The town on the 5th Floor is expanding smoothly, and even the production area called Kenerusen has been brought under control.
In the town that is currently expanding, there is a constant need for food, so the arrival of the Six Marquises at this time was very timely for the Tower.
When we say we don’t have enough food, it doesn’t mean the residents will starve.
To be precise, we adjust the number of residents so that only those who can be supported by the food supply can live there.
There are plenty of residents who wish to move to other cities, so it is actually easy to increase the population itself.
Those who wish to transfer come to the new town seeking work.
The rapidly developing town in the Tower always has plenty of jobs available for those who are willing to choose them, so the number of people wishing to transfer will not decrease.
By the way, the jobs in highest demand are related to craftsmen.
With continuous construction, there are always job openings.
However, simply settling craftsmen would lead to an increase in the unemployed later on, so we also hire them through requests from craftsmen’s guilds in other towns.
Next in demand after craftsmen are adventurers.
As for adventurers, they gather on their own without any specific recruitment efforts.
While it’s no longer the case that they can set up tents and stay overnight wherever they please, as they could in the very early days, there are now more accommodations and rental apartment buildings.
Adventurers use these places as their bases of operation.
The town on the 5th Floor is undoubtedly a town centered around adventurers.
Economic activity revolves around materials recovered from each floor.
Initially, I thought the large number of adventurers who gathered would disrupt the balance of materials obtainable from each floor, but that did not happen.
Specifically, naturally occurring medicinal herbs are never over-harvested; they are taken only until they are depleted.
Kousuke had an image of adventurers as rough people, so he was pleasantly surprised by this.
Thanks to this, he is happy that he doesn’t have to consume extra P.T.
As expected, the monsters in the vicinity of the town have already been almost entirely hunted.
Since the town is planned to expand further, this is rather welcome.
In addition to living quarters, securing farmland is also a pressing need, so it is better to have fewer monsters.
Adventurers who were hunting monsters in the surrounding areas will likely be assigned to patrols and other duties from now on.
There are other jobs available, so adventurers who have grown to be considered capable will not go hungry.
Even for jobs until they become capable, there are plenty of miscellaneous tasks appearing in the new town, so they won’t be at a loss.
The town on the 5th Floor is a place where adventurers, from beginners to those who have become capable, can easily find work.
Of course, this is on the premise of being registered with Crown.
These various jobs are posted through Crown, so it’s only natural.
In this town, where there is no public guild, Crown’s Adventurer Division is considered the most trustworthy, so naturally, job requests are funneled to Crown.
Furthermore, while other guilds do exist, they are all affiliated with Crown, so there’s no need to specifically request from those guilds.
On the 5th Floor, “guild” is beginning to mean a group of parties that have gathered to some extent.
Guilds become active when resolving requests that a single party cannot handle.
Solo < Party < Guild < Crown is becoming the established order among adventurers operating in the Tower. However, solo adventurers and parties are not necessarily affiliated with a guild. Requests to guilds are only made when Crown directly issues them. Otherwise, requests are basically made on a party basis. Of course, if adventurers determine that six people are insufficient, they may resolve the request with a larger group. However, in such cases, the reward fee is usually lower. This is natural, as a recommended number of people and a corresponding fee are set. Mid-tier and higher-level adventurers do take on requests, but they are generally focused on progressing through the Tower's floors. The monsters that mid-tier adventurers can target often yield valuable materials, allowing them to make a good living from them alone. Naturally, the merchants who buy these materials do the same. These materials are generally bought at shops set up in the Safe Area. As only Crown is allowed to set up shops in the Safe Area, it is almost a monopoly. It takes less trouble and time to sell at the Safe Area shops than to make the round trip to the 5th Floor to sell to other vendors. In the beginning, there were traveling merchants who hired guards and went to other floors to purchase materials, but once it became known that they couldn't compete with the purchases at the Safe Area shops, their numbers dwindled. This is understandable, as the Safe Area shops are equipped with Teleport Gates. Some individuals and groups, knowing this, tried to negotiate to use the Teleport Gates, but all of them were refused. Neither Kousuke nor the upper management of Crown has any intention of cheapening the advantage of Teleport Gates. High-level adventurers continued to earn by exploring the dungeon floors. There was a party that reached the 71st Floor, but unfortunately, they did not make it to the Safe Area. By the way, there are no Safe Areas on floors above the 72nd Floor. We have no intention of establishing any in the future. The meaning behind this is to encourage adventurers to conquer those floors with their own strength. The 71st and 72nd Floors are floors where High-level Monsters appear, and Kousuke believes they are difficult for adventurers of this world's current level to conquer. On the dungeon floors from the 61st to the 70th Floor above that, the monsters that initially appear are Intermediate-level, but the traps become extremely dangerous. Furthermore, as you progress to the middle and later stages, High-level Monsters also appear, so it is likely that no one can conquer them. If one could conquer dungeons of this level, they would not be struggling in the current dungeon floors. Based on this situation, Kousuke predicts that no one will conquer the high-level dungeons. ♢♦♢♦♢♦♢♦♢♦♢♦♢♦♢♦♢♦♢♦♢♦♢♦♢♦♢♦♢♦♢♦♢♦♢♦♢♦♢♦ "Oh my, oh my? How unusual, alcohol?" Kousuke was enjoying a drink alone when Peach came in by herself. "Ah. Schmidt got hold of some rare alcohol and gave it to me. As expected of Schmidt's recommendation, it's delicious." Kousuke said so and raised his glass of fruit wine towards Peach. It's not that he drinks every night, but Kousuke does enjoy a drink occasionally. Schmidt knows this and sometimes brings him some. "Peach, would you like some?" Kousuke said so and offered Peach some of the alcohol. By the way, Peach is the only one among the Tower's members who truly gets drunk from drinking. Shurein and Colette are physiologically unable to get drunk from alcohol. Silvia and Floria can get drunk, but they apparently have no fond memories of alcohol. From what Kousuke heard before, for both of them, alcohol only felt like a means to get intoxicated. He could probably guess what had happened based on that description. Colette, who happened to be nearby, said, "Men are so stupid," and it resonated with Kousuke, but he couldn't say anything at that moment. "I'll have some." Peach, who fetched her own glass, had Kousuke pour her some of the fruit wine and began to drink. "Oh my... it really is delicious." "Yeah." "So? What were you worrying about?" Peach's words caught Kousuke by surprise, and he showed a bewildered expression. "Worrying? Huh? Did I look like that?" Kousuke didn't think he was thinking that deeply. "I was just thinking about how to manage the Tower from now on." "Is that so~?" Peach stared intently at Kousuke, who was stroking his cheek. It was strange how Peach seemed to see through everything at times like these. Kousuke attributed this to her being from a Succubus clan, famous for fortune-telling. "Hmm. If that's the case, then it's fine. I just had a feeling, that's all." "Really? Thank you for your concern." "You're welcome~." Kousuke and Peach said so and laughed together. In the end, their drinking session continued until they emptied the bottle of fruit wine they received from Schmidt. The latter half is unusually (or perhaps for the first time?) a drinking scene. I tried to make it a scene where Peach and Kousuke flirted, but it turned out like this. By the way, the ending is not a foreshadowing. I wrote it to convey how they are on a normal day.
