Let’s Manage the Tower – Chapter 392

The card registration for the Teleport Gate was completed immediately.

After Queen Floria had a conversation with someone, Remeshov finished by holding his card to the authentication plate at the Teleport Gate.

“This completes the registration. When you wish to use it, imbue the card with your magic power and hold it there, and it will automatically connect to Smit.”

Remeshov nodded cautiously as Queen Floria gave him simple instructions on how to use it.

“With this card, you can go and come back freely at any time. However, please be aware that it is set to react to your magic power, so only you can use it.”

“Only me…? What about Crown Prince Kristof or the King…?”

“They cannot use it. It’s only for you.”

Remeshov’s face turned pale at Queen Floria’s curt reply.

He hadn’t expected to be in charge of something that even the King couldn’t use.

“If we want the King to be able to use it…”

“It’s not possible. Each card can only be used by one person. Your country is the one that requested the card. You should give up.”

He tried to avoid the immense responsibility somehow, but Queen Floria’s answer was unyielding.

Remeshov gave up resisting and dejectedly hung his head.

Hearing their conversation, Kristof harbored a question.

“I thought there were other Teleport Gates in Amamiya Tower, how are they used?”

He had received reports that adventurers were freely using the Teleport Gates, despite them using special cards.

He wondered if cards were given to everyone who used a Teleport Gate.

The Teleport Gates were crucial for defense in the Tower, so he asked the question while thinking that he probably wouldn’t get an accurate answer. However, perhaps because it wasn’t a secret, the answer came back readily.

“This card is only needed when using the Teleport Gates that connect the Tower to the outside. It is not necessary to use the Teleport Gates that connect within the Tower.”

Queen Floria then explained the handling of the Teleport Gates, prefacing it by saying she would elaborate.

For movement within the Tower, the Teleport Gates connect to fixed locations, so no card is needed.

Cards are necessary for movement from outside the Tower, but if one is registered with the Crown and possesses a Crown Card, it serves the same purpose as the card Remeshov holds.

“…In other words, are there adventurers who can use this Teleport Gate?”

Remeshov asked, his sense of crisis growing.

Although it was managed properly now, there was a possibility that a large number of adventurers could flood into Smit Country.

Even though they were still monitored according to treaties, it was like sieving sand compared to border security.

However, Queen Floria shook her head, unconcerned by his worry.

“No. Each card is registered with specific Teleport Gates that can be used. The Teleport Gates here cannot be used with the adventurers’ cards.”

Hearing this, Kristof felt relieved inwardly.

Queen Floria had disclosed the information knowing this would be the case.

It was natural to avoid causing unnecessary suspicion.

However, this was all predicated on Queen Floria telling the absolute truth.

Firstly, the Tower was a realm of mysteries, making it impossible to determine which information was correct.

Even so, disabling the Teleport Gates would have too many disadvantages.

There was a reason to install Teleport Gates even with the risks involved, so one had to overlook certain things.

In this regard, there was no choice but to trust Razek Amamiya and the Crown.

After hearing some details about how to use the card, they parted ways with Queen Floria.

Kristof and his entourage were to be given a tour of the city, including a visit to the mansion that would serve as their embassy.

A senior official was assigned to guide them during this time, so Queen Floria returned to the castle.

The castle town, the capital of Razek Amamiya, was a large city, unimaginable to exist within a tower.

According to the senior official’s explanation, the city was still expanding, and its scale was such that it didn’t seem to have been built in just a few years.

While admiring the city’s appearance, Kristof did not forget to view it from the perspective of the Crown Prince of Smit Country.

Razek Amamiya, being the only nation on the same continent, could be said to have no external enemies.

Normally, it might be possible to cross the sea and be conquered by nations from other continents, but this was impossible for the Central Continent.

The defensive capabilities of the Tower, which had become common knowledge among nations, were too high.

Considering this, the only ways for Razek Amamiya to fall would be internal rebellion or a revolt by forces outside the control of the Central Continent.

However, Razek Amamiya already controlled nearly three-quarters of the continent.

It was highly unlikely that any remaining forces could overthrow Razek Amamiya.

Besides, they didn’t possess any significant armed forces.

As for internal rebellion, as the first nation on the Central Continent, the residents had extremely high expectations, making this difficult as well.

If Queen Floria’s reign were going poorly, there might have been an opening, but at present, no such opening was apparent.

While Kristof was contemplating these matters, Smit Country did not wish for Razek Amamiya to fall.

On the contrary, they hoped it would continue to exist for as long as possible.

This would ensure a stable supply of Furie Grass.

Smit Country had traded with the Crown for Furie Grass since before the nation of Razek Amamiya was formed, but it was easier to make various agreements with a collective entity like a nation.

With these thoughts, they visited the mansion that would become Smit Country’s embassy and then headed to the castle.

As Kristof was present, they were officially treated as a delegation from Smit Country.

In this regard, there was no difference from other countries, regardless of the scale.

In the castle, where high officials of Razek Amamiya gathered, the embassy was formally established, and Remeshov was introduced as the resident official stationed there.

A select few attended a dinner banquet.

The quality of the cuisine was comparable to that of other nations.

Amidst this, a minor incident occurred.

Among the gifts prepared by Smit Country was Ktool, one of their specialties.

When someone from the Razek Amamiya side saw the Ktool, they exclaimed in surprise.

“Th-this isn’t tea?!”

“Tea? Is that so?”

The person was seated near Queen Floria, suggesting they were of considerable status. Their name was only given as “Kou,” with no title or position mentioned.

However, their familiar conversation with Queen Floria indicated they were an important figure.

Once again, Queen Floria tilted her head and questioned the person.

“Tea…? That is our specialty product called Ktool.”

“It’s something you steep in hot water and drink,” Remeshov added by way of explanation.

Upon hearing this, the person named Kou, looking delighted, expressed a desire to try it.

The Ktool was prepared precisely for them to drink.

Smit Country had no objection.

The Ktool was immediately served to the people of Razek Amamiya.

And so, tea made its appearance lol.

Ktool is green tea.

Green tea hadn’t been served before, so this is its first appearance.

(Apologies if I’ve misremembered and it has already appeared).

By the way, outside of Smit Country, it is treated as medicinal tea.
