The group struggled with how to teach Sol common sense.
They realized the current members, including Shurein and Colette, were not ideal candidates. Sylvia and Floria had sheltered upbringings, and while Sylvia and Colette had some experience as adventurers, their understanding of “common sense” was limited to those living ordinary lives.
Floria suggested seeking advice from others. Shurein agreed that their own lack of common sense would hinder their efforts. Colette worried about Sol’s current state. They acknowledged that while visitors to the Management Layer tolerated their quirks due to knowing Shurein and the others, Sol’s inclusion would invite scrutiny.
The Management Layer’s visibility increased when Division Head Crown and Floria’s father, Alec, visited. The current members had already settled in by then. With a new member joining after over a decade, attracting attention was inevitable. It was crucial to conceal Sol’s evolution from a goblin and, more importantly, the existence of a goblin settlement in Amamiya Tower. This was because goblins were generally disliked monsters, known for abducting women. Even Kousuke’s explanations as an Avatar wouldn’t overcome this prejudice. The goblin settlement was only permitted because they were Kousuke’s familiars. While familiars wouldn’t attack people, wild goblins might. Therefore, concealing their existence was paramount.
To avoid revealing themselves, Shurein and the others wanted Sol to learn common sense from someone outside their circle. Sylvia proposed seeking help from someone else. Peach, confused, asked who Sylvia meant. The rest of the group looked similarly puzzled.
Sylvia turned to Floria. “Eri should be reporting on the food stall soon, shouldn’t she?”
“Ah! You’re right, she should be here around now,” Floria responded, finally remembering Eri. Although Eri was a slave and not an ordinary citizen, she possessed far more common sense than the women. Even if they couldn’t learn directly from her, obtaining advice from her was possible. Cecil and Arisa were also options, but they weren’t accessible immediately. Eri was the most opportune choice.
As Floria was about to leave the meeting room for the Teleportation Room, Eri appeared, having just teleported from the Fifth Floor. “Eri, perfect timing. I have something I want to ask you!” Eri was taken aback by Floria’s sudden address. “Huh? Y-yes. What is it?” “Well, this isn’t the place. Let’s go somewhere else,” Floria said, taking Eri’s arm and pulling her towards the meeting room.
Eri was surprised to see the full party gathered but understood when they explained their problem with Sol. “I see. So you’re wondering how Sol can learn common sense,” she said, her expression clearing. “That’s right. Do you have any good ideas?” Eri answered Floria’s question easily. “Yes, I do.” “Really? It can’t be that simple… Wait, you do?” Floria asked, surprised. Eri nodded. “Yes. In fact, it’s such a simple method that I don’t understand why you all didn’t think of it…” “What is it?” Eri continued, “From what you’ve said, Sol is quite strong, right? Why not have him join an adventurer party? Ideally, someone like Riku’s party.” Eri added that while Cecil and Arisa were also adventurers, they were slaves, making them secondary choices.
Eri’s suggestion stunned the members. It hadn’t even crossed their minds. “Oh, I see. That’s a great idea,” Floria said, nodding in understanding. Sylvia agreed, “Yes. And in terms of combat, he can also learn common sense. That’s good.” “Hmm. Indeed, that’s true. Sol probably won’t be showing off his skills to anyone, but you never know what might happen,” Shurein mused, glancing in the direction of the Lounge Space where Kousuke was presumably resting.
Following Shurein’s gaze, Colette sighed. “You’re right. In that case, it’s better to teach him about that now.” “Yeah~. Knowing Kousuke, he’ll probably get him involved in all sorts of things,” Peach said. The others nodded seriously. Sol and Eri exchanged subtle glances. Eri, knowing how Kousuke treated women, was more resigned. Sol, however, felt he wanted to protest but lacked the grounds to do so.
Floria smiled at the two, then bowed to Eri. “I’m sorry, Eri. Thank you for your help.” “No! It was nothing important!” Eri quickly waved her hands, flustered by Floria’s bow. “So, we’ll ask Riku to be Sol’s tutor. Does anyone object?” Floria asked, speaking for the group. No objections were raised.
Floria nodded. “Alright, it’s decided. Are there any other concerns?” “None for now,” replied Colette and Sylvia, with Shurein and Peach nodding in agreement. “Good,” “I think it’s a fine idea~”
Thus, it was decided that Sol would temporarily join Riku’s party to learn common sense. Floria planned to ask Riku for his approval, intending to frame it as a request, and didn’t expect it to be refused. She believed Riku would easily accept, provided the conditions were right, as Sol wouldn’t be a hindrance in combat. Sol had received political knowledge from Floria and others, but lacked general common sense.
It seemed Riku had become Kousuke’s (or Floria’s?) go-to person lately. (Then again, he always was…)
