Let’s Manage the Tower – Chapter 98

In the Lounge Space of the Management Layer, the members who managed the Tower were gathered, engaged in an unusually [?] serious discussion.

By the way, the members of management are, strictly speaking, those who can use Teleport Gates freely (registered in the Management Menu).

Currently, those registered as Tower Managers are Kousuke himself, Kouhi, Mitsuki, Shurein, Silvia, Colette, Peach, Nana, wanri—a total of nine people [?]—plus six people including Wahid, making a total of fifteen.

Wahid and his group, with the exception of Isunani, rarely enter the Management Layer.

Isunani had recently been frequently visiting the 76th Floor to meet the Iggrid Race for the development of Divine Tools.

Kouhi and Mitsuki are basically Kousuke’s guards [?]. The other members lead lives that involve frequent comings and goings to the floors they manage.

Since Wahid and his group rarely come to the Management Layer together, a full complement of members is almost never seen.

However, the members excluding Wahid and his group, Nana, and Wanri, usually gather around meal times.

After meals, they disperse to their respective tasks.

For Kousuke, the members of management refer to the group who always gather for meals.

To be precise, there are fifteen members in a broad sense of the term, and in a narrow sense, there are the members who always gather for meals (plus Nana and Wanri).

The topic of discussion for this narrow group of management members was Divine Power.

It all began with a casual remark from Colette.

“Still… why did we suddenly become able to use Divine Power?”

Colette, who had recently started learning how to handle Divine Power with other members, suddenly said something like this.

However, to her words, the other members (excluding Kousuke, Kouhi, and Mitsuki) nodded in agreement.

“Indeed. In my case, I had thought it might be due to the influence of Kousuke-dono’s blood, but considering that everyone has become able to use it, there seems to be another reason.”

“In my case, it could also be thanks to the Blessing. However, if everyone gained the ability at almost the same time…”

“It’s clearly unnatural~”

As they all started saying things like that, Kousuke tilted his head in puzzlement.

“Unnatural? To that extent?”

To Kousuke’s question, those excluding Kouhi and Mitsuki nodded.

Seeing this, Kousuke wriggled his head in thought.

“Is that so? It’s unnatural… Even so, I can’t think of any commonality other than that I taught them the basics [?] of how to use Divine Power…”

“I’m not saying that’s unrelated, but it’s not the root cause. The fact that you were able to learn means you had the foundation to become able to use it,” Shurein explained.

Then, Peach suddenly interjected with a question.

“Speaking of which, what about the Crown Card? That also requires Divine Power to display, right?”

“Ah, that one automatically activates when you place your finger on the reading area, so it’s not like I’m consciously using Divine Power.”

Basically, it’s the same as magic items that can be used even by those who cannot use magic.

By the way, the Divine Power Engraver naturally runs on Divine Power, but it uses a battery-like device to operate.

Charging the battery with Divine Power is the role of Wahid and his group.

Since it’s not something consumed frequently, it doesn’t require frequent recharging [?].

It would become a useless object if there were no one who could use Divine Power, but we don’t even know if Wahid and his group have lifespans, so we’ve put off considering that for now.

Kousuke thinks that eventually, it will have to be made to operate without a battery or by some other method.

At Kousuke’s words, everyone again tilted their heads in thought.

“The only other commonality is that we live here.”

At this, Peach’s expression suddenly changed, as if she had realized something.

“Ah~. Maybe, just maybe…”

Seeing Peach’s expression as if she had a sudden idea, Colette felt a sense of unease for some reason.

“…I have a bad feeling about this.”

“…I agree.”

Silvia nodded in agreement, but Peach, undeterred, voiced her idea.

“Everyone here has received a favor from Kousuke-san~”

Kousuke was crestfallen, thinking, *She says such a thing despite possessing a beauty that could be described as peerless.*

At Peach’s statement, Shurein let out a “kaka-ka” laugh, while Silvia blushed and looked down.

And Colette…

“That has nothing to do with it!”

She retorted forcefully. Moreover, she didn’t just use her words; her hand also moved.

“Ouch~. I thought it was a good idea.”

“Hey. If that were the case, what about Nana and Wanri?”

“Ah, that’s right. You’re right~”

To Colette’s words, Peach nodded as if convinced.

However, Kousuke suddenly felt a hint of unease at Colette’s words.

(Nana and Wanri didn’t know Divine Power Manipulation at first either… What was the trigger for them to learn?)

He delved into his memories, recalling commonalities.

“Ah, is it possible…?”

He suddenly remembered something they had in common.

He had confirmed it before, but he had left it as it was, thinking it had no particular relevance to their daily lives.

To confirm it, he decided to use the power of his left eye to re-examine it, just in case.

What it was was the water coming from the taps in the Management Layer.

It was clearly displayed as .

He conveyed the result to everyone.

Upon hearing it, everyone nodded as if they understood.

“I see. Although it’s not definitive, it’s a convincing reason.”

“That’s right. At least it’s more convincing than Peach-san’s opinion from earlier.”

“…You people are so mean~”

“Why are you asking me for agreement…!?”

To Kousuke’s comment, Shurein and Silvia agreed, while Peach and Colette continued their comedic banter.

“I don’t think this water is the sole cause, but I believe it’s one of the triggers, looking at the examples of Nana and Wanri.”

“Indeed. If only this were the cause, it would be strange if all the Summoned Beasts couldn’t use .”

The consensus at the scene was that while was one trigger, it was unlikely to be the sole reason for becoming able to use Divine Power.

“In that case, it means Kousuke-san’s favor is also…~”

“You’re persistent…!!”

Seeing Peach stubbornly asserting her theory and being poked by Colette, Kousuke thought, *This is part of being a Succubus.*

Asura wept.

Lately, hasn’t had many opportunities to be active.

The next few chapters will be about Divine Power.
