This is truly enviable.
After entering the mansion without any resistance, we went straight to the throne room where the Vampire was. I pushed the large door open with all my might and there… was a harem.
Sitting on the king’s chair in the center was a middle-aged, dandy old man. He was probably the Vampire, so that was fine, but the problem was his surroundings.
Around him were women wearing nothing… how enviable. This is what a harem is, right? This is a harem! Beautiful women serving one man.
I have beautiful women around me too, but “serving” is a different matter, I suppose. We’ve killed each other many times, which I guess is proof of how close we are.
However, I do wonder about the nudity…
When they’re naked, I feel like I’m seeing everything, which lessens the enjoyment. If all women in the world were like Christine, it would be fine, but I think clothing is important. Women’s fashion has a seasonal charm, and even with revealing clothing, if you fulfill your role as the observer by letting your imagination soar, there’s no problem. In fact, when there’s less exposure, more imagination is required. That imagination is as a man…
“What do you want…?”
A heavy voice echoed in the room. Shut up, you idiot! Don’t talk to me when I’m thinking!
I don’t have any business with you. The problem is your harem’s attire! The fact that you think simply undressing them is the solution is a sign of your short-sighted misogyny! Clothing is an important item for highlighting a woman’s beauty…
I do have business with you. What do you think I went through an hour of carriage ride for! It’s unforgivable for a human to put a weak woman through such hardship. Prepare yourself, for I shall smite you…
“I am Mikael Sin, Captain of the White Lily Corps, and a Baron of the Asht Empire. I heard that our Dark Elves were here…”
“Captain, may I have a moment? Vampire, if you are a seeker of blood, you must have researched it. I wish to see your research results.”
“Who are you…?”
I’m talking here, don’t interrupt me. Also, what’s a “seeker of blood”? Sounds cool, I should use that sometime.
“I am Rufina, a Necromancer. One who commands the Undead Queen.”
“Oh, a Necromancer. And you are…”
After about five minutes of lively conversation, completely ignoring me, Rufina cheerfully left the room. To go see the Vampire’s research findings.
“I wonder what Sister Rufina came here for?”
The Vampire probably wanted someone to acknowledge the results of his research. He warmly and smilingly sent Rufina off.
“Perhaps to satisfy her own desires… More importantly, Vampire! The Dark Elves here are mine…”
“I’ll kill him too.”
Alana went towards the Vampire, leaving a gust of wind behind her. It’s strange, I’m here, but it feels like no one has noticed me. Why are they ignoring me? Even if Alana kills him, I don’t feel a sense of crisis, but I do feel a sense of crisis for my own existence.
We had finished with introductions up to this point, hadn’t we? Our purpose for coming here was in the middle of being explained… The Vampire hadn’t even introduced himself yet, but should I kill him too? Is that okay?
I split the Vampire’s head in two vertically after parrying Alana’s Sword Gauntlet. It might be unfair, but the moment he put a naked woman by his side, there’s no suspended sentence! Instant decision, women should be treated with more care.
Without any resistance, the Vampire turned into numerous bats from a black mist and flew into the air. They coalesced at a distance from us, forming the Vampire’s shape.
I haven’t forgotten. I knew the Vampire could turn into bats. However, I never expected it to feel so utterly devoid of resistance. I didn’t forget, you know.
“Alana, have you ever cut a Vampire before?”
“No. The sword I was using turned to mist with no strength.”
Now, what should I do… I do have a plan, at least…
When I fought the Undead Queen, I realized that in this world, there are no truly immortal beings. There are only bodies that are hard to kill. In essence, if you kill them until they die, that’s enough. Until their Magic Power depletes and they can no longer maintain their existence.
I don’t know if they have a garlic yakiniku set meal. There are probably no crosses. Holy water might be available at a church, but I’ve never been to one.
Originally, I thought we’d all seven of us gang up and beat him to death, but for some reason, there are only two of us here. When did the others disappear?
“Alana, just keep attacking until he dies. Aim for volume over a single strike.”
“Yes. He’s weaker than you, Captain.”
You shouldn’t say such things out loud. Honestly, he’s not that strong. I brought the other members, but it would have been overkill. A normal person wouldn’t even be able to touch him, which is probably why he was able to gather so many Vampires, but you shouldn’t lay hands on another man’s woman.
“Shall we begin again? Be careful of rabies.”
“Yes.”
With Alana’s pleasant reply, I began to carve up the Vampire, but was Alana always this fast? Even though I’m using Godspeed to chase the Vampire, who keeps turning into mist when cut, Alana is calmly keeping up.
It’s not quite Godspeed, but her inhuman speed is amazing. I think she could give Priscilla’s Lycanthrope a run for her money right now.
There’s only one problem…
“I’m bored.”
Her concentration isn’t enough. Getting bored after Fifteen Minutes…
“Alana, you can stand down. The other servants aren’t moving, so you can rest.”
I was able to maintain Godspeed for over half a day against the Undead Queen. Although the situation is quite different from then, if the opponent isn’t even Mode Two, I can kill them unilaterally.
If it continues for two hours like this, I’ll get bored too. Because he’s weak and uninteresting. Is he really a Vampire? My image of them involved struggles and everything… Could he be just a subordinate-level guy!?
Another hour passed. Alana joined in and rested partway through, but the one-sidedness remained unchanged. There’s none of the close-call tension I felt with the Undead Queen. It’s boring.
“Can you die soon? Fighting you isn’t interesting…”
After I said it, I realized I messed up! You shouldn’t say things like that to someone who’s trying their best. But it’s just so one-sided…
“W-Who are you…?”
Huh? Was I in the middle of my introduction? I’ve been quite rude. Have I been fighting him for three hours without even a proper greeting? I should be the one reflecting.
“My apologies. I am Mikael Sin, Baron of the White Lily Corps. On this occasion…”
“This is how you kill a Vampire!”
A wooden stake shot out from the Vampire’s chest like a jack-in-the-box, accompanied by a voice I recognized!
“Priscilla! You interrupted my introduction…”
The Vampire, impaled by the wooden stake, burst into blue flames and burned. His entire body ignited like a torch, and he writhed in agony, unable to scream.
“You were taking too long, so I came to get you! How long are you going to take with this guy?”
“I was trying my best, but he was tenacious and I couldn’t finish him off. …What about Christine?”
“I left her with Sophia. So she wouldn’t be bothered.”
I thought he’d left Christine behind as a chaperone. …What does he mean by “bothered”?
“Alana, you were bored, weren’t you? This is where the real fun begins. If you want combat rewards, go get them.”
“I want them. I was incredibly bored.”
Are you guys idiots? Idiots, aiming their weapons at me while the Vampire is still burning. Why does it always turn out this way?
“Please wait. A Vampire isn’t truly dead until proven so. Besides, we still need to find the two Dark Elves…”
Before I could finish speaking, they attacked. It seems like I can’t have a proper conversation today. Speaking of which, I didn’t even ask the Vampire’s name, oopsie.
Come on, you two idiots! Bring it on! You won’t defeat me like the Koatotemites! I’ll crush you.
Fortunately, I was able to win because I had Mode Two in reserve. But can’t we do this normally? On a soft bed, perhaps with some drinks. Not on this hard ground next to a blazing Vampire… The screams are too loud.
