Chapter 66: Leia’s Confidence
Yifu felt like she was playing the lute to a cow.
Or rather, a little cow that had just come out into the sunny weather…
To avoid escalating the situation further, Yifu decided to temporarily ignore Alice. After all, in her current state, even if she said “hello,” Alice would naturally think of something negative.
Now that the Empress had left, no one could restrain Her Highness Princess Alice. Yifu felt her back prickling at the sight of those remote corridors and empty rooms.
She was afraid that Alice might quickly drag her into a small dark room.
Fortunately, from start to finish, Alice behaved quite well and didn’t do anything overly outrageous.
Yifu couldn’t quite understand what Alice was thinking.
At this time, the Graduation Ceremony officially began.
Though it was called a graduation ceremony, Yifu felt it looked more like a gathering of high society.
Those elegantly dressed young lords and ladies, surrounded by their parents and servants, wore proud and joyful smiles on their faces.
After all, they were graduating from the Church Academy, the best academy in the Empire. Obtaining a diploma here basically meant a smooth path ahead in their careers.
If their families had some background, it would at least mean inheriting a better status than their parents.
Some of the outstanding students even had the opportunity to enter the royal family and serve the Imperial Royal Family.
For this graduation ceremony, high-ranking officials from various departments of the Imperial Royal Family must have sent representatives, just like a recruitment fair, looking for suitable candidates.
The large venue made Yifu feel a bit out of place.
Having been locked in a small box for two years, facing such a lively scene made her a little at a loss.
Leia, hiding behind her, also looked timidly at the bustling scene in the venue, and she was somewhat unaccustomed to such a setting.
But this wouldn’t do; if she hid behind Yifu, who would see her, the beautiful daughter that could amaze everyone?
“Those over there are your classmates, right? Go over and chat with them, don’t be shy.”
Yifu gently took Leia’s hand and encouraged her softly.
She understood that if today she didn’t help Leia resolve her long-standing mental block, everything she had experienced at the Church Academy would likely turn into a nightmare for her.
Just like last night, it would haunt her in her dreams.
“Is Little Leia afraid of strangers? Should I take you over to greet my friends?”
Alice also noticed the awkwardness in Leia’s expression. After all, they would soon be sisters, and this double bond made Alice feel her relationship with Leia was even closer than with Yifu.
“It’s okay; Leia can do it. Remember what I said this morning? Go on, let them see who the real star is.”
“Do you see Qianzhi over there? Try to say hello to her first.”
Yifu pointed to Qianzhi in the distance. Being the student council president, the Iceberg Beauty, and a rich young lady, Qianzhi’s popularity was indeed high.
Those wanting to talk to her formed layers around her, completely encircling her.
Yet, Qianzhi dealt with the surrounding enthusiasm quite calmly, not even showing a trace of excessive emotion.
“Mm!”
Leia felt a bit intimidated looking at the crowd but glanced down at her beautiful dress.
She thought to herself that she absolutely must not disappoint her mother’s heartfelt intention. This dress is beautiful, and Mom says I look pretty too; I have to be confident! Confident!
Taking a deep breath, Leia lifted the hem of her dress slightly and raised her little face, instantly revealing a noble swan-like aura.
Though Leia was a bit frail, her delicate doll-like face, complemented by the dress that even the Empress envied, immediately attracted the attention of many.
“Sister Qianzhi.”
A crisp and melodious voice rang out from the crowd, momentarily causing those surrounding Qianzhi to freeze.
Who is so bold? Daring to address the young lady of the Loren Family as… sister in public?
Upon hearing this voice, Qianzhi’s expression froze, and then her beautiful face broke into a smile.
“Leia! Has everything been settled?”
Qianzhi lifted her dress with her delicate foot in stylish high heels, swiftly bypassing the crowd and affectionately hugging Leia’s arm.
“Yes, it’s been resolved. The Empress couldn’t stand those guys bullying me and came to support me too.”
Leia bit her lip, feeling the intense gaze of countless people upon her.
After all, so many people’s flattery had failed to elicit a smile from Miss Qianzhi, while a simple “sister” from Leia could make her act so affectionately.
How could that not provoke jealousy?
After all, she was the young lady of the Loren Family; being linked to her was akin to holding the future of brilliance.
“That’s great! What about Miss Yifu…?”
Qianzhi’s gaze faltered slightly, and she tried to ask casually as if her heart wasn’t in it.
Yet her clearly blushing face and the rapid heartbeat that Leia could feel betrayed her true feelings.
She knew that Leia’s calling her “sister” was not simply because of Leia; it meant that Miss Yifu was not far away.
Qianzhi couldn’t help but smile knowingly, her feelings fundamentally tied to Yifu.
“Mom is over there, chatting with Her Highness the Princess.”
Leia pointed in Yifu’s direction.
Qianzhi immediately turned her gaze there, and indeed, she saw the stunning face of Miss Yifu that she had been thinking about.
Though it was only a brief separation of about an hour, for some reason, Qianzhi couldn’t help but constantly think about Yifu.
Perhaps it was because the people around were too noisy and overly eager to approach her goal.
In this bustling world, only Miss Yifu treated her with sincerity.
Thinking of this, Qianzhi waved at Yifu and then revealed a smile that made everyone present gasp in admiration.
It was a blush tinged with youthful shyness and a charming smile, a simple expression that seemed to encapsulate all the feelings of a budding young girl.
“Who made Miss Qianzhi smile so happily?”
“It must be me…”
“Go cool off; she’s smiling at that white-haired lady.”
“White-haired? Where’s the white-haired one?”
“Who is that person? Why are they standing next to Her Highness the Princess?”
“Not even wearing a dress, but even so, it looks quite stylish…”
“She’s actually quite pretty, that face has a coolness mixed with a hint of melancholy, comparable to the Empress.”
“Sister! Are you playing matchmaker? I’m in! Can you give me your contact information?”
