Chapter Seventy-Two: More Terrifying than Human Hearts
Looking at Alice’s mischievous appearance, Yifu couldn’t help but harden… her fists.
Seeing her sneakily sticking out her tongue, Yifu felt an inexplicable impulse to grab her and instantaneously devour her.
This girl was becoming increasingly audacious.
After some lighthearted playful antics, the time for the banquet that Yifu had been anticipating finally arrived. She looked at the unlimited snacks and various exquisite dishes on the table, growing fonder with each glance.
For some reason, ever since she transformed into a stunningly voluptuous white-haired lady, Yifu’s craving for desserts had skyrocketed to absurd levels.
With a bite of the cream cake, Yifu felt a wave of pleasure wash over her as the sweet flavor blossomed on her taste buds, enveloping her in a sense of happiness.
Although she was a witch capable of going two years underground without food or water, when good food was in front of her, she found it impossible to resist.
After all, even if Yifu could hold back from eating, her body fat wouldn’t agree with that; even a tiny drop in body fat percentage would make her mature lady persona seem inauthentic.
For Yifu, that would be a tremendous loss.
“Is it really that delicious?”
Alice followed Yifu to the dining table, where most people were busy socializing.
After all, this was a rare graduation ceremony, gathering elites from various fields, past and present. Naturally, there were plenty of topics to discuss.
Some people from the church and the royal family were even around looking for talent. At this moment, not lifting a glass to engage in a bit of socializing would appear quite out of place.
But Yifu didn’t care about that; she grabbed a small cake and put it in her mouth.
The satisfied look on her face made Alice, who was anxious about her figure, feel a pang of temptation.
“It’s delicious; you should try some.”
Yifu nodded; it seemed the meals at the Church Academy were quite nice.
But she didn’t know how much this big table of food would cost.
Unintentionally, Alice’s gaze lit up when she heard Yifu invite her to try some.
Logically, Yifu suggesting that she should give it a try meant for Alice to take one for herself.
However, Alice was still Alice, and her thought process regarding anything related to Yifu had always been variously convoluted.
Facing a table full of exquisite snacks, Alice didn’t even glance at the selection but instead focused on a piece of cake in Yifu’s hand, half bitten.
There were even traces of Yifu’s teeth marks on it, making it look even more tempting.
“I want to taste it too.”
Saying this, Alice unceremoniously grabbed Yifu’s hand, biting down on the small cake that Yifu had already taken a bite out of, along with Yifu’s thumb and index finger holding the cake.
Originally, Yifu was thinking of picking a piece that seemed relatively lower in calories for Alice.
After all, being a princess, she had to pay attention to her figure and image.
But what she didn’t expect was that Alice, indeed, was Alice, never playing by normal rules.
Feeling her fingers enveloped in a warm sensation, Yifu nearly let out a relieved laugh.
Your Highness, you truly can surprise me at any moment.
Yifu instinctively glanced around, unsure if it was luck for Alice or if she had a knack for seizing opportunities.
Every time Alice touched Yifu, there just so happened to be no eyewitnesses around.
Yifu’s fingers seemed to be the most delicious cake in Alice’s eyes.
It wasn’t until Yifu grew somewhat impatient and forcibly pulled her fingers away that Alice reluctantly let go.
However, it was still clear that Alice felt a bit reluctant.
“It really is delicious.”
Alice squinted her eyes; when she opened them again, her beautiful gaze was already shimmering with little pink hearts.
“Next time, let me have a taste again.”
Alice looked at Yifu, her pretty face filled with infatuation, and the grin on her lips hinted at a hint of danger.
She distinctly emphasized the word “eat,” making Yifu feel a twinge of fear because she sensed it contained an unspoken meaning.
“Your Highness, please have some restraint.”
“I have restraint?”
“It’s restraint!”
Yifu didn’t want to continue the conversation with Alice, as her mind was already clouded with a pinkish haze.
If they kept going, Yifu feared Alice would actually start taking liberties.
“When you come to give me a class next time, I will specially have someone prepare it. How about we make cake together then?”
Alice was still somewhat insistent, though her tone had become much more normal.
Making cake… didn’t sound bad. At least it could promote her normal relationship with Her Highness.
“When we go back, I’ll have the staff prepare some fine cream.”
“Wait! Your Highness, making cake seems to require more than just cream, right?”
“Of course, but for our cake, just the cream will suffice.”
Listening to Alice’s words, Yifu quickly grabbed a drink with a straw next to her and took a big sip to calm her nerves.
Even that straw was somewhat deformed from her biting.
“Mom! Come here for a second.”
Just as Yifu thought about how to escape, Leia’s voice made her heart fill with joy; after all, her precious daughter could always save her at times like this.
When we go back, I’ll prepare a delicious treat for you. Truly, you are my chosen good daughter.
“Uh… Leia is calling me. I’ll go check what’s going on. I won’t stay with Your Highness any longer.”
Yifu hurriedly put down her drink and rushed away.
Those red heels looked so inconvenient to walk in, but stepping under Yifu’s black silk feet, she moved so nimbly and swiftly, one might think she was sparking fires with her steps.
“How boring, Miss Yifu really can’t take a tease.”
Alice sighed, watching Yifu’s departing figure feel a bit dejected.
But moments later, her gaze fell on the half-finished drink that Yifu had left on the table.
The drink wasn’t the key; the important part was that the straw, slightly deformed from being bitten, was still smeared with a faint crimson — Yifu’s lipstick mark.
“Just leaving half behind isn’t that a bit wasteful?”
Taking a deep breath, Alice looked around to ensure her surroundings were safe, then pretended to look elsewhere while slowly reaching toward the half cup of drink.
What she didn’t know was that someone else was also eyeing that cup of drink.
Two delicate, fair hands from opposite directions slowly approached the cup.
Then an awkward situation arose; neither hand managed to grab the cup and instead awkwardly touched each other.
Realizing something was off, Alice quickly turned her head, only to see a delicate, cool face.
“Is that… Qianzhi from the Loren Family?”
“Alice… Your Highness?”
