“Lord… what about me?”
Daniel knelt on the ground, full of desperation.
“You can’t. We still need some soldiers who haven’t been converted for work, so get lost. All you need to do is watch how our great warriors crush the humans. Remember with your own eyes, humans are nothing to fear.”
After saying this, the commander couldn’t help but scoff, as if mocking Daniel for his past cowardly behavior.
Daniel could only retreat helplessly. Even though many of his companions had been converted into Demon God Offspring, he still didn’t have that qualification. Daniel knew that he was not only a deserter but had also been scared silly by humans. A Demon of his kind being called a Demon God Offspring would only bring shame to the Demon God.
Moreover, there were many tasks that the Demon God Offspring could not perform; they had to be completed by unconverted demons.
However, this battle was indeed getting stranger. As Daniel crawled down Noam’s body, he inexplicably recalled the image of Captain Halun leading him into the human Sisterhood long ago.
Captain Halun back then was as confident as the current commander.
Daniel quickly shook his head; it must have been an illusion. How could there be such a terrifying Sisterhood?
Feeling relieved, Daniel worked in the back. Although it was the back, it was actually just behind Noam’s mountain-like body. This was a special camp that contained nothing but many specially made restraints and the Demon God Offspring crawling on the ground.
Their mouths continuously dribbled saliva and were ceaselessly consuming the surrounding Sludge Monsters. The flesh on their bodies swelled and seemed to continuously expand as they ate.
Due to being suppressed by the special restraints, these Demon God Offspring could only curl up their hooves or lay or kneel on the ground. Their multiple large mouths roared incessantly, as if demanding more and more food, appearing as if only through constant consumption could their bloated bodies be satisfied.
In the camp, there were Demon Clan soldiers like Daniel who didn’t qualify to become Demon God Offspring, extracting the flesh and blood of demons from the supplies and tossing it to these Demon God Offspring.
Those Demon God Offspring caught the meat with the mouths on their backs and began to chew.
Most of the soldiers who hadn’t become Demon God Offspring were quite afraid of them. They only dared to toss the food from a distance. In the demon’s words, it was said these soldiers lacked courage and could not become offspring of the Demon God.
Daniel shook his head helplessly at the situation in the camp. He once was also a frontline warrior; how did he end up working alongside this swarm of insects?
But for now, work came first. Daniel bellowed at the camp entrance, “The restraints are lifted! These warriors shall head to the battlefield! All units prepare, release the restraints!”
After that, Daniel and the other demon soldiers kept their distance as they released the restraints from the Demon God Offspring.
Although he looked down on these cowardly soldiers, when Daniel pulled out the iron stakes binding the restraints, he stood even further back than these soldiers.
These Demon God Offspring had been kept in the rear camp, gaining more and more power, to the point that some were no longer under Noam’s control. Sometimes, even the demon soldiers coming to feed them would be swallowed along with the chunks of meat. Let alone when they weren’t restrained; they might even attack other demon soldiers.
At the moment the restraints were undone, these restless Demon God Offspring gasped with their multiple large mouths, as if still not satisfied, constantly searching for prey around them.
As these Demon God Offspring locked onto Daniel and the soldiers behind him, Noam’s multiple large mouths roared in anger. The now-fed Demon God Offspring turned back and charged toward the frontline battlefield under Noam’s full control.
Noam could only control these special Demon God Offspring to this extent.
If we say Noam’s size is like a small mountain, then these Demon God Offspring are like little hills, rampaging on the battlefield with absolute destructive power.
Watching these howling Demon God Offspring charge into battle, Daniel let out a long sigh. No matter how strong humans are, they cannot compare to the Gods. These Demon God Offspring are all part of the Demon God’s flesh and blood. The earlier tug-of-war with humans on the battlefield was merely the mercy from the Demon Clan.
As long as these real Demon God warriors entered the battlefield, those humans would only be begging for mercy.
Thinking of this, Daniel even found it easier to breathe.
Few demons knew better than Daniel, who had always fed these Demon God Offspring, how powerful they were. They could be considered the Demon Clan’s final trump card.
These special Demon God Offspring had been meticulously selected; not only did they possess the mighty bodies of Demon God Offspring, but they could also use the bloodline magic before their conversion.
If these special Demon God Offspring scattered, Daniel believed it would be no problem to destroy a small nation.
Rather, judging by the resources currently committed by the demon clan, the scale of this war had already transformed into a true war of annihilation.
After sending off this batch of special Demon God Offspring, Daniel and the demon soldiers in the back donned their armor and took up their firearms.
Even though most demon soldiers had been converted into Demon God Offspring, just like the commander standing on Noam’s back said, there were still many odd jobs that plain demon soldiers needed to perform, such as battlefield reconnaissance. Most of these unconverted soldiers, including Daniel, were also primarily reconnaissance-type bloodline magic users.
After all, Noam could not clearly perceive the entire battlefield situation.
Along the way, Daniel, as usual, boasted about his past experiences to the inexperienced soldiers who had not qualified to become Demon God Offspring.
The new soldiers looked disdainful and said, “Come on, Daniel, aren’t you afraid of encountering that terrifying Sisterhood you mentioned again on the battlefield?”
Daniel clenched his fists, his face turning red, and said, “It’s all fake. Tactical retreat, not a defeat; it was all Halun’s problem. I fought hard against the humans!”
Then came complicated terms like “feigning madness strategy” and “conserving strength,” causing the reconnaissance team to burst into laughter.
Just as everyone was laughing, a torrent of flames suddenly appeared on the battlefield ahead, and the reconnaissance soldier next to Daniel quickly used bloodline magic toward the direction of the flames.
“Hey, Daniel, is that terrifying Sisterhood you mentioned the one in red robes, wielding chainsaw swords, wearing strange masks?”
Impatiently, Daniel said while still explaining, “No, not red robes; the robes were dyed red after killing our team. But how do you know?”
Daniel, who had always explained it as an illusion, had never told these guys what that terrifying Sisterhood was like.
The reconnaissance soldier next to him swallowed hard and said, “You can see for yourself.”
Reluctantly, Daniel also used bloodline magic and looked in the direction the soldier pointed.
Before him, from the surging flames of the battlefield, a group of sisters slowly emerged from the fire.
The robes of this sister team were all blood-colored, as if soaked in blood. They held firearms spewing flames in their left hands, while their right hands gripped chainsaw swords emitting intense light. Although their masks differed slightly from those of the past, they exuded a unique sense of pressure.
Countless painful memories flooded Daniel’s mind. He was suddenly so terrified that he fell off his horse. His reconnaissance soldier partner hurriedly dismounted to support him. Daniel stared blankly into the distance, his mind in chaos, saying, “It’s too real! It’s the terrifying Sisterhood; we’re doomed!”
Daniel had gone mad again.
