Marrying the Villainess Noblewoman at the Start – Chapter 416

How does the Dyson Sphere Project combat “that gaze”?
These space stations, which are nailed like spikes to Blue Star, are not simply space structures. At least according to 550C, these various space stations can indeed withstand that gaze, and these space stations are still operational.
Lind is currently located in the outermost room of the space station, which is where the station defends against that gaze, serving as a human firewall to assist 550C in continuously inspecting the equipment within, and manually helping to restart some systems and areas of the space station.
With Lind’s arrival, the entire space station initiated a massive maintenance operation, and many areas that had ceased to operate were revitalized. This also allowed Lind to gain some new understanding of the space station, such as the two divine revelation lanterns in the Lantern Dream and Church’s possession, which are actually fragments that fell from the space station while 550C was in hibernation.
According to 550C, after this maintenance, the Goddess will regain the authority that once controlled the sun, moon, and stars. However, Lind always felt that 550C was making him familiar with the entire space station.
After assisting 550C with the manual maintenance and understanding the entire Heavenly Palace Command Center, Lena’s phantom appeared beside Lind again, “Regarding your previous question, please allow me to first ask you, do you know what the essence of that gaze really is?”
Lind left the room under the guidance of a drone and finally took off the heavy protective suit. After hearing 550C’s question, he began to ponder while recalling the devices he saw in the room.
“Is it light?”
Lind proposed his guess. Since that gaze can be blocked by the technology of the Golden Age, it indicates that the Golden Age had some research on the essence of that gaze and even had a certain understanding of it. This means that at least for the Golden Age, that gaze can be analyzed and explained, despite the fact that the Golden Age was full of madmen.
Lind’s first reaction was the physical notion of “light.”
At this point, Lind suddenly began to understand those madmen of the Golden Age. He even felt that he had become a madman himself, one trying to comprehend the existence beyond human common sense.
“No, simple light wouldn’t have those properties. Since it is something that humans can understand…”
Lind was not a physics major, but his brain was constantly searching for the closest answer.
“Is it a wave?”
Lind asked uncertainly, “That gaze is a medium similar to electromagnetic waves? Is it some kind of wave that spans the entire universe? And does that wave carry information? The initial photo captured by humans was, in fact, this wave?”
“So after that wave ‘gazed’ at Blue Star, humans have been passively receiving information, which is what we call will validation, and the source of that crazy knowledge.”
Lind’s speculation could not explain where the information in the wave came from. Was it a threat from some civilization? Or a plea for help? Were humans deliberately chosen? Or was the other party simply sending out indiscriminate messages? Or was it indeed just a casual glance from some higher-dimensional existence?
It was obvious that this wave reacts to sentient beings, and it could even be said that it is a sort of existence resembling a concept of trends in thought.
550C did not agree or disagree with this speculation, simply continuing, “The energy contained within that gaze has disrupted the material stability of this world. This phenomenon is particularly evident in the post-Golden Age. Magic was born in this unstable world, where the energy generated by fusion on the ground mutated when mixed with the energy contained in the gaze, merging with all things in the world.”
So the new humans were indeed completely different from the original humans; they were born in this new environment, which suited them better, and they could even utilize the magic generated by this world, particularly noticeable in elves.
“This energy has even affected some materials on Blue Star, turning them into so-called magical materials.”
“As a result, the cost of the so-called magic is that the material stability of this world is far from what it once was, leading to the emergence of regions like the Sea of Instability, where the high-altitude areas are different from the surface and space stations, having once been filled with energy from fusion, now only retain the energy brought by that gaze, thus becoming more chaotic and dangerous.”
No wonder the apparitions of Outer Gods appeared in the sky; perhaps it is because there are more remnants of the wave in the sky? Considering that Outer Gods can invade the Sea of Consciousness, it’s also likely that Outer Gods are beings formed by the chaotic messages touching the consciousness.
The so-called prophecies of the Outer Gods’ descent are actually the “knowledge” of the time required for this energy to mix and materialize.
As 550C said, the nature of magic may involve transformations caused by the fusion-generated energy and the wave not fully merging, although this still does not explain how dragons can fly at high altitudes and why they can change form. At least it gave Lind a direction for research, and he realized that dragons are likely not a natural product of this area but may have undergone mutations from another region or are products of some distorted technological tree.
As for what those “Outer Gods” really are, since the descent of the Outer Gods occurred during the end of the Golden Age, there are simply too few related research records. The last Outer God had just been obliterated by Lind using a railgun, and those descended factions using humans and Outer Gods to compile into demons are still around, perhaps some clues could be obtained from them.
Lind had a rough speculation regarding the formation of magic; however, it was just a guess, and further research would be needed on the ground.
After all, everything at present is hypothetical. Nonetheless, Lind still felt he might have gone mad, discussing the essence of an existence he couldn’t fully comprehend with this human-like intelligence, even trying to use science to understand metaphysics.
“550C, I should head back.”
Although there were still many things unclear, knowing too much is not necessarily a good thing; it can make people hesitant, just like knowing that demons are a result of the compilation of Outer Gods and human genes makes Lind worried that after he returns, he might make some decisions that contradict his own conscience, such as sparing the demons while using them for human experimentation.
Sometimes thinking too far ahead is not beneficial.
At this moment, the phantom resembling Lena guides Lind to another room.
“Now that you’ve seen the truth of this world, do you have no other thoughts?”
“Of course I do; I need to figure out how to get nuclear fusion back online. I won’t be around in my lifetime, so I should pave the way for future humans.”
Seeing 550C taking on Lena’s appearance and speaking to him, Lind felt a bit irritated. However, despite looking at that silly face even under 550C’s disguise, he couldn’t muster any real anger.
550C seemed to have accurately gauged that Lind wouldn’t feel any anger towards this image, so it maintained this form and further stated, “I have a better method to sustain humanity.”
After saying this, Lena’s phantom stepped aside to reveal a chair with a biotechnological feel in front of Lind.
“Do you know which of the three projects is the most successful? It’s the Sea of Consciousness Project because people in the Golden Age truly explored the ocean of human consciousness. Here, people could even directly compile consciousness on behalf of all humanity.”
“Unfortunately, this technology was not pursued further due to the significant risks involved, which led to its obsolescence, though another technology was preserved.”
The phantom of Lena approached Lind and asked him, “Do you wish for immortality?”
From ancient times to the present, the option that countless emperors longed for was placed before Lind. However, looking at 550C, who was seriously talking to him while embodying Lena’s face, Lind found it somewhat difficult to hold back.
Seeing that Lind did not answer, 550C explained, “I believe you have some guesses about how the space station determines your citizenship.”
“Consciousness?”
Lind subconsciously replied back.
“That’s right; your body is undoubtedly a new human. However, your consciousness aligns with the characteristics of humans from the Golden Age and has been classified as citizenship.”
550C continued, “As long as you are willing to sit in this position, your consciousness will be completely uploaded to the space station, and you will become its master, the god of this area.”
Lena’s phantom bent down in a bow, “The so-called authority of the Goddess is merely an accessory to your control over this space station. I will fulfill one of your wishes as long as you stay.”
Lind gazed at that position, feeling for some reason like he was looking at a golden toilet, and asked, “Once I sit there, I won’t be able to get back down?”
