Chapter 9: Military Training Begins
“Hello, classmates, first of all, welcome to Rongcheng University. Let me introduce myself. My name is Jiang You, and I will be your homeroom teacher for the next four years. If you have any matters, you can come to me directly.”
“I manage most of your affairs, including but not limited to leave applications, changing majors, competition registrations, and so on.”

Looking at Jiang You, who was talking eloquently on the stage, Ji Yunqi finally understood what her old friend meant by the work of a university teacher.
Jiang You often complained to Ji Yunqi about how difficult his job was and how hard it was to manage the kids below. However, looking at Jiang You now, Ji Yunqi felt that he had exaggerated quite a bit.

However, she probably wouldn’t be able to cook for Wang Mengyao for a while. Because of military training, she knew it would end in the evening, usually around nine o’clock. She estimated she wouldn’t have time to cook for Wang Mengyao.
After finally cooking dinner and sending Wang Mengyao off after returning home, Ji Yunqi had time to rest.
Jiang You had said in the afternoon that tomorrow was the official start of the semester, and they had to gather at the school playground at 7:40 AM, wearing their military training uniforms.
This meant Ji Yunqi had to get up at six o’clock. She hadn’t woken up that early in years.
However, she figured things would work out. Wasn’t it like this before? She wasn’t that resistant, it just needed some getting used to.
The military training uniform fit well, which was one less thing for Ji Yunqi to worry about. After tidying up a bit, she lay back on the bed to rest. She knew her physical condition, and she definitely needed to rest well, otherwise, she would definitely collapse during military training tomorrow.

Because her timing was quite accurate, she wasn’t late. However, by the time Ji Yunqi found the team, most of the classmates had already arrived.
Ji Yunqi was prepared for this. After all, most students were boarders, and there were very few day students. Ji Yunqi didn’t think much of it and naturally walked to the back row to stand.
This move stunned the boys next to her. They didn’t understand why a girl of her height wanted to stand at the back. Shouldn’t she be at the front?
“Classmate, shouldn’t you stand in the front?” a boy next to her couldn’t help but ask.
Ji Yunqi didn’t react at all, thinking they were talking to her, until she felt several people looking at her, then she realized.
She looked to the sides and saw that everyone was indeed looking at her. She pointed to herself with one finger and asked, “Are you talking to me?”
The tall boy rolled his eyes in exasperation, “Yes, look, all the tall boys are standing at the back. Shouldn’t you, a small girl, be in the front?”
Ji Yunqi took a look and realized that it was true. She saw that everyone had to look up to make eye contact with them, so how short was she?
“Um… wait a moment, no one said I shouldn’t be here?” Ji Yunqi still didn’t like standing in the front. She felt it was very strange.
Or rather, she subconsciously disliked being in a group of women, which made her feel uncomfortable all over. She felt that staying at the back was quite good. Since there was no mandatory rule, she couldn’t be bothered to move.

She was currently in the middle of a group of tall boys, so she couldn’t be seen from any direction. If she got tired, she could even sit on the ground without anyone seeing her.

A boy next to Ji Yunqi, who had spoken to her earlier, gently nudged Ji Yunqi, who was starting to doze off. “Hey, hey, classmate, the principal has finished speaking, get up quickly.”

Compared to the principal, the chief drill instructor’s speech was very brief, ending in just five minutes before moving on to the assignment of drill instructors.
Because she was surrounded, Ji Yunqi couldn’t see what their drill instructor looked like, but judging by his voice, he seemed to be a young man in his twenties.
“I wonder how he compares to my son?”
