Chapter 5: A Good Brother’s Doubt
“?” Lin Muqing tilted her head in confusion. She was looking at Ye Ziming across the table, and he was looking back at her.
For a moment, the lounge fell somewhat silent. The sounds from outside couldn’t penetrate, and no one inside spoke, only the water dispenser in the corner occasionally made a slight noise.
Gradually, Xiaomuqing realized that Ye Ziming wasn’t looking at her eyes. His gaze was a little lower.
Then, following his line of sight, Xiaomuqing slowly lowered her head. What entered her eyes were her slightly undulating small breasts. Because she was wearing a sports bra, they didn’t look very large.

He couldn’t be sure if it was his imagination, but he felt that in just one summer vacation, Xiaomuqing had changed a lot. Her skin had become fairer, her features more delicate, and her figure more petite.
No matter how he looked at it, it was hard to consider her a boy, especially now that she was wearing a maid outfit.

“It’s like… breast padding, you know? Like those silicone things. I got a good deal on it from Ping Xixi some time ago. It feels super real, just like a real person.”

But what she didn’t expect was that after hearing her explanation, Ye Ziming actually said to her: “Can I see it?”
Her voice cut off abruptly, and the air became quiet again. Xiaomuqing’s smile froze on her face, her mouth twitching. She was completely stunned.
Ye Ziming, who had asked the question, was also stunned. The faint red on the tips of his ears intensified, about to spread to his cheeks.
He didn’t even know why he had asked this question, but he was indeed curious. Looking at Xiaomuqing always made him feel a strange itch.
“Ahem… it’s okay if it’s not convenient. Let’s talk about your voice, did you learn voice modulation?”
To cover his embarrassment, Ye Ziming quickly changed the subject and asked another pressing question about Xiaomuqing’s voice.

There was a small surprise here. Just as Xiaomuqing was pondering how to muddle through, Ye Ziming had already provided a reason for her.
That was great. This time, she could just go along with it and didn’t need to think of anything else.
She breathed a sigh of relief again, thinking that this should be over. Besides, she had to start work soon.
“So, you’re using a disguised voice now?”
“Yes.”
“Can I hear your original voice?”
“?!”
In these short few minutes, Xiaomuqing felt like she was on a roller coaster. It was too thrilling! She almost had a stroke from high blood pressure.
She had left the Jade Pendant at home. Now, asking her to make a boy’s voice was putting her in a difficult position. Xiaomuqing felt her struggle.
“Ahem… is it this kind of voice?” She put all her effort into trying to deepen her voice and make it sound hoarse.
However, the voice that came out was still filled with a soft, cute tone, just like a cute girl trying her best to imitate a boy’s voice.
It seemed that was indeed the case.
“Probably…” Ye Ziming said, then quietly looked at Xiaomuqing, a faint smile on his face.
The atmosphere became awkward again. Lin Muqing felt like a clown, sitting on the chair, flustered and not knowing what to do.
The more he remained silent, the more awkward she felt, and her small face flushed red again.
“Ahem, well, I have to go to work. Goodbye.” Finally, Xiaomuqing couldn’t help but stand up from the chair.
She quickly put on her white silk stockings below her knees, left a parting sentence, turned around, and left the lounge, joining the other maids to start work together.
In the lounge, Ye Ziming watched Xiaomuqing’s retreating back, his mind filled with questions.
“Lin Muqing,” he whispered her name, his mind filled with images of her in the maid outfit and her somewhat cute voice.
He lowered his head to look at the notebook on the table, which contained many notes about the coffee shop.
Originally, he wanted to use this time to organize his notes to better manage the shop in the future, as part of his ‘training’ from his family.
But now he couldn’t concentrate on his work. The image of Xiaomuqing wouldn’t leave his mind, and the more he thought about it, the more he felt she had to be a girl.

“Haha~ Did the new shop manager say anything to you?” Sister Yu chuckled softly, not answering Xiaomuqing’s question, but throwing out another one instead.
“Uh… he didn’t say anything. We just talked about the coffee shop…” She nervously shrank her neck. There was no way she could tell them about her conversation with Ye Ziming.
But she didn’t know that seeing Xiaomuqing’s guilty gesture, Yu Jie’s smile widened, and the glint in her eyes became even clearer.
“Oh~” she said, drawing out the sound. In her opinion, these two definitely talked about more than just that.
Looking at Xiaomuqing’s somewhat shy expression, Yu Jie nodded with satisfaction, displaying a smile like a doting mother.
“I see. Go serve the customers.” After finishing her mental picture, Yu Jie casually picked up a pen and a small notebook from the checkout counter next to her.
She placed them in Xiaomuqing’s hands and then patted her cute little head.
As the shop’s ‘mascot,’ Xiaomuqing’s appearance attracted a lot of attention.
Among a group of more mature women, a petite and cute little maid stood out in a different way.
