Chapter 511
This morning, Xiaomuqing groggily sat up in bed, rubbed her eyes, and looked around the dormitory. Seeing that everyone hadn’t woken up yet, she remembered she had no classes this morning.
Reacting to this, she yawned and then lay back down, changing her position. Xiaomuqing closed her eyes and hugged her pillow, continuing to sleep soundly.
After a whole night, she still couldn’t figure out why things had escalated to this point. Now, it seemed everyone in the dormitory thought she and Ye Ziming were living a life of unrestrained intimacy.
Although the reality was almost like that—when no outsiders were around, their way of interacting could indeed be described as unrestrained—it wasn’t right. In public, she clearly had very few intimate interactions with Ye Ziming. Logically, this situation shouldn’t have occurred!
Moreover, it was only for one night last night, yet people now thought it had been happening for the past few years. She couldn’t explain it, and no one would believe her.
Xiaomuqing: I’m done for, maybe I should just give up.
As she thought, her consciousness gradually faded. During this roughly one-hour nap, she had a dream.
In the dream, she and Ye Ziming lived in a seaside villa, leading a truly unrestrained life. In the dream, she didn’t know how much time had passed, but they had explored every way to enjoy the villa.
Inside the villa, outside the villa, by the sea… Xiaomuqing felt the dream was very real because she remembered the entire layout of the villa.
Then, the scene shifted. She was sitting in her school dormitory, and familiar faces like Hu Xixi, Gu Yu, and Zhang Xiaoling appeared before her, seemingly talking to her.
“Wow, is the little baby inside here?”
“?”
Hearing Gu Yu’s words, Xiaomuqing was stunned for a moment.
Baby? What baby? She touched her stomach.
In her confusion, Xiaomuqing slowly lowered her head and immediately saw her bulging stomach. Several hands were gently touching it, which was as big as a basketball.
It was only then that she terrifyingly realized that everyone was talking about her being pregnant, and they even wanted to touch her.
Pregnant? The moment this word appeared, Xiaomuqing was utterly thunderstruck, leaving her completely stunned.
Then, the scene changed again. She was being held in a Princess carry by Ye Ziming. She was wearing a white dress, and it was vaguely recognizable as a wedding dress. Hu Xixi’s voice sounded from the side.
“Five years, three children… unrestrained…”
Xiaomuqing didn’t hear the last sentence completely because she was startled awake. She abruptly opened her eyes, forcefully interrupting that strange dream.
“What a dream.”
“Whoa!”
As soon as she opened her eyes, Xiaomuqing saw Hu Xixi’s face right in front of her, which startled her greatly.
“What are you doing?” It’s really scary to suddenly appear in front of someone.
“I wanted to ask what you were doing.”
Pulling her head back, Hu Xixi said with a hint of annoyance.
Xiaomuqing scratched her head, confused: “Huh?”
After chatting, she learned that Hu Xixi had poked her head over her bed because she had been sleep-talking earlier, wanting to see what was going on.
When she woke up, several of her roommates happened to be in the dormitory and all asked if she had been dreaming and what kind of dream it was.
“Just… a very ordinary dream.”
Hearing this question, Xiaomuqing’s smile suddenly froze. Then, she awkwardly waved her hand and quickly changed the subject: “Oh right, you said I was sleep-talking earlier. What did I say?”
“I didn’t hear most of it clearly.”
Stroking her chin, Hu Xixi recalled for a moment and then said two words to Xiaomuqing: “Five years, three children, unrestrained.”
“!? ”
Xiaomuqing froze again. Beyond embarrassment, a faint blush appeared on her ear tips, and her ears twitched slightly. She silently averted her gaze, lost in thought.
…
This morning, Hu Xixi repeatedly asked Xiaomuqing what kind of dream she had that involved the phrase “five years, three children.”
Unfortunately, no matter how she asked, Xiaomuqing just smiled awkwardly and then changed the subject, refusing to discuss it.
Helpless, Hu Xixi stopped asking. Instead, with her own guesses, she whispered a few things to Gu Yu and Xu Sijie. Then, the three of them looked at Xiaomuqing and chuckled.
“Ahem, it’s eleven-thirty. Let’s go eat soon.”
Looking at the three girls huddled together, Xiaomuqing felt a bit embarrassed. She stood up, put down her water cup, pointed to the door, and called everyone to go eat together.
They had no classes in the morning, but that didn’t mean others didn’t. Twelve o’clock was a busy time for classes to end, and Xiaomuqing didn’t want to squeeze into the cafeteria with the “main force,” so she usually went out at eleven-thirty.
On the way to eat, she thought about the dream she had this morning, then thought about whether or not they had used safety measures that night, and she immediately panicked.
Pregnancy. This word had once been so distant that she had never even considered it, or rather, completely dismissed such a possibility.
Even after becoming a girl in high school, she felt this matter had nothing to do with her. How could she, a “tough guy,” get pregnant?
But now it was different. Thinking about her interactions with her good brother, she suddenly felt that pregnancy was very close, so close that it felt like she could touch it just by raising her hand.
“If… my boss and I had a child, what would it be like? Would it be more like me or more like him?”
For some inexplicable reason, Xiaomuqing suddenly thought of this and then unknowingly immersed herself in this question until she walked into a pillar because she was distracted.
“Ouch.”
Clutching her forehead with both hands, Xiaomuqing suddenly came back to her senses and saw a large concrete pillar standing in front of her. She was a bit dazed.
“What are you thinking about?”
Standing beside Xiaomuqing, Hu Xixi’s lips twitched, and her eyes held a subtle, indescribable expression.
She suddenly felt that Lin Muqing didn’t seem very smart and needed a lot of care. She had only glanced over there, thinking about which restaurant to eat at in the cafeteria.
And then, in the next moment, she had this intimate encounter with the concrete pillar, and her voice sounded quite pleasant.
“N-nothing…”
Shaking her head, Xiaomuqing rubbed her forehead and forced a calm smile at Hu Xixi.
“You’re not thinking about your boyfriend, your fiancé, are you?”
Hu Xixi squinted and asked slyly.
“How is that possible! How could I… think of him.”
Hearing those two words, Xiaomuqing’s voice suddenly became loud, like a startled cat that had its tail stepped on. Then, realizing her reaction was a bit excessive, she lowered her voice and continued.
Whether it was due to embarrassment or awkwardness, Xiaomuqing’s small face turned red after speaking. She pursed her lips and turned towards a self-service food counter.
Behind her, Hu Xixi covered her mouth and chuckled, thinking that Lin Muqing was simply fooling herself. She looked unexpectedly cute.
Afterward, the four roommates ate together. They didn’t talk about what had just happened or about the morning. It was just that the smiles of the few people were a bit subtle.
