There are still a few words I wish to share with you all.
First, let’s discuss the novel’s plot.
One, regarding the rushed plot in the latter part of the novel.
When Luo Yingying revealed her plan, I considered entering an accelerated phase. The reason is quite simple.
The subsequent content would have merely been Ye Changsheng going monster hunting, leveling up, cultivating, and facing off against opponents, engaging in typical power-fantasy plots with no interaction with the main characters. I thought about it for a long time, realizing that writing such content would only drag things out, so I decided to speed up the pacing.
After all, everyone enjoys heartwarming moments and character interactions, and wouldn’t truly prefer to read plots they’ve seen countless times before, right?
Therefore, by resolving the issues quickly, we can happily move on to interactions with the heroines.
Two, concerning the character of Luo Yingying.
In fact, from the very beginning, I emphasized that Luo Yingying is a heroine who appeared in the first chapter and has a very important role in the story.
Around the middle of the novel, I faced a decision: whether to conclude the story on Qixia Isle.
It seemed like the plot could be wrapped up there without much issue, and the protagonist’s undercover storyline could also end. He could live happily with his harem, and any further writing would deviate from the novel’s title.
However, up to that point, Luo Yingying had not been extensively developed. More than once, readers felt that Luo Yingying was merely a vase, which went against my initial intentions.
Therefore, I chose to continue the plot, intending to develop Luo Yingying’s character.
As everyone has witnessed, despite frequent dissatisfaction expressed about the latter half of the plot, I have no regrets. At least, Luo Yingying’s character development has been completed.
Her departure from Qixia Isle was not entirely selfish; it was to liberate Ye Changsheng from the cycle of destiny.
As for whether you like Yingying or not, that is for each of you to decide.
At the very least, I do not regret my choice. She deserves the title of the first heroine.
Next, let me talk about myself.
This novel is my first attempt.
It’s my first time writing a Xianxia novel, my first time writing a harem novel, and even my first time writing a male-protagonist novel.
While researching and referencing the excellent works of renowned authors, I found it much more challenging than I had imagined.
The initial inspiration came from the movie “Infernal Affairs.” However, while “Infernal Affairs” is a tragedy, my original intention was to create a happy and joyful story for everyone.
