Auraniess arrived on the Farmia Continent.
She had heard tales of the power of Demon Lord Alastor, who dominated half the continent.
“Alastor… I don’t know him. Do you?”
Sophia answered Auraniess’s question.
“Yes. He is one of the select few considered on par with you, Auraniess.”
“Oh?”
Auraniess’s eyes sparkled like a child given a desired toy.
“Such a person exists! …But he isn’t in my memories?”
Iris spoke to her pondering master.
“Auraniess, you only remember Melinda and us, don’t you?”
“That’s right!”
Auraniess threw her head back and laughed heartily.
She never remembered beings that were unimportant to her.
She would probably forget about Forneus, whom she had recently dealt with, soon enough.
Ahead of the three as they walked, monsters fled with expressions of desperation.
Therefore, Demon Lord Alastor quickly sensed something amiss.
“It seems the Demon Lord is heading this way.”
He said, then smiled defiantly.
While trampling humans was enjoyable, a strong opponent was also interesting.
Making a Demon Lord of equal standing beg for their life would surely be amusing.
Alastor’s attitude was very reassuring to his subordinate demons.
“I only wish we could be a match for Alastor.”
Said the demon Lugano, who had the appearance of a rhinoceros beetle.
“If it’s a woman, I’d like some of her to be left for us.”
The troll demon Segundo said with a vulgar grin.
“Can we even win? Alastor is a Demon Lord.”
The hippogriff demon Galea questioned.
Including Alastor, these four were plunging the eastern part of the Farmia Continent into despair.
There were still human settlements in their controlled territories, but they were deliberately not destroyed.
It was similar to how humans prepared buildings for livestock.
“Alastor’s name must be known across the continent, so if he’s still coming, he’s likely a Demon Lord of equal standing.”
Segundo stated his opinion, and Alastor nodded.
“I’m impressed that he doesn’t flee, intimidated by my presence. But how many such individuals could possibly remain?”
Of course, it was difficult to climb to the top as a Demon Lord, but most should have been destroyed by Melinda.
Perhaps they had gained strength and climbed their way up.
“Oh, I can see them.”
At Lugano’s voice, everyone’s gaze focused in one direction.
Three shadows came into view, and three beautiful faces.
Lugano, Segundo, and Galea let out vulgar laughter.
“Wow. All three are beauties.”
“Especially the one in the middle.”
“I like the one on the left.”
They shamelessly leered at the women with their eyes, passing judgment.
Up to that point, it was business as usual, but Alastor didn’t join in.
The three exchanged suspicious glances, and their gazes shifted to the Demon Lord, changing to astonishment.
Alastor turned pale, cold sweat pouring down his face like a waterfall, and trembled violently.
“Im-impossible… Why is she here…”
“A-Alastor?”
The demons were bewildered, unable to comprehend the reason for their master’s drastic change.
Alastor wasn’t listening.
He merely groaned.
“Auraniess!”
The name, spoken with fear and disgust, had a tremendous effect even on the demons.
Astonishment flashed across the three faces, and they involuntarily turned their gazes to the beauties.
“A-Auraniess…?”
“Is that Auraniess?”
“A-Auraniess…?”
As if their master’s fear had been contagious, the three stumbled backward.
The ultimate Demon Lord, Auraniess, was known to be a fierce being who challenged anyone she saw as strong, whether Demon Lord or Hero, and killed anyone she disliked.
“Are you Alastor?”
If there were such a thing as the most beautiful voice, it would be this one, yet instead of charming the listener, it drove them to despair.
Alastor thought this was Auraniess’s question.
“Yes.”
Seeing Alastor finally manage to speak, the strongest Demon Lord put on a disappointed expression.
“I heard you were a fierce warrior on my level… but you look like an insect trembling at a dragon’s snort. If you’re pretending to be weak, I must commend your acting skills.”
Auraniess’s purple eyes felt like daggers, at least that’s how Alastor felt.
“I apologize. It seems to be my mistake.”
Sophia, who had provided the information, lowered her eyes and apologized.
“It’s quite alright, everyone makes mistakes.”
Auraniess forgave him with an openness that surprised Alastor and the others.
She was magnanimous to those she favored.
“Now then, Alastor. Do you have the courage to entertain my boredom?”
Only someone like Auraniess could speak so disrespectfully to a Demon Lord.
Lugano thought this and watched Alastor’s reaction.
Alastor desperately shook his head.
“N-no. I have no chance of winning against you.”
Auraniess merely snorted.
“Hmph, you bore me.”
Losing all interest, she turned her back on Alastor and began to walk away.
Sophia and Iris followed her.
(You’re too defenseless, you fool!)
No matter how strong Auraniess was, as a Demon Lord, he believed he could defeat her with a surprise ambush from behind while she was defenseless.
Alastor believed this and unleashed his finishing blow.
He thought the blow would pierce Auraniess’s heart… but that was a sweet fantasy, and reality was not sweet.
Auraniess stopped it with one hand as she turned around.
And she did so with a look of annoyance.
“Un-unbelievable…”
For Demon Lord Alastor, it was easy to utterly conceal his presence and unleash a finishing move.
Why had she sensed it from behind and stopped it so easily?
“D-do you have eyes in your back…?”
Auraniess did not answer the question, her expression showing anger.
“A Demon Lord, resorting to a sneak attack from behind? Have you no pride?”
Alastor’s hand, held by Auraniess, creaked, and excruciating pain shot through it.
“I don’t enjoy bullying the weak, but I’m not so magnanimous as to let those I dislike go?”
Alastor’s hand shattered, and a pathetic groan escaped his lips.
“Fool. Had you not done something so pathetic, you might still be alive.”
Sophia’s words were filled with exasperation and pity.
Iris wore a similar expression.
Alastor, who could have survived by silently trembling, had hastened his demise through his own foolishness.
“A-attack! All of you, attack!”
He desperately ordered his subordinates.
Those who received the command swallowed hard, but still tried to fight for Alastor.
They literally just tried.
The moment they entered a combat stance, their hearts were pierced.
“How cowardly.”
The one who acted was Sophia.
After dispatching three demons in an instant, she licked the blood from her hands.
At that moment, a sharp fang glinted, and Alastor realized her true nature.
“A Vampire!”
Just as he tried to speak her name, Alastor’s heart was also pierced.
He thought it was Auraniess, but it was Iris who extended her hand.
“Die, you cowardly Demon Lord.”
“Y-you are…”
Alastor, spitting blood from his mouth, tried to say something.
The speed at which her heart was pierced, faster than he could accurately perceive, and the strength with which she had dispatched the other demons.
“Probably correct.”
Auraniess replied, and crushed Alastor’s head.
Then she snorted.
“Weak, fragile, and foolish. Is this what they call a Demon Lord?”
There was a gentle, yet undeniable anger within her.
“Is this the era where such beings can call themselves Demon Lords?”
Sophia and Iris intuitively felt that things were not going well.
Their master, who disliked bullying the weak and would not kill needlessly, was an exception when her anger reached its peak.
The name “Demon Lord of Disaster” was not given because she indiscriminately challenged strong beings.
“Do you have any good ideas, Sophia?”
Iris asked, and Sophia pondered.
She had an idea, but it was uncertain information.
If it turned out to be wrong again, Auraniess’s mood would worsen further.
She never took her anger out on them, so in that sense, she was not a bad master…
“If I had to say, I do.”
When Sophia said this, Auraniess reacted faster than Iris.
“What? What kind of idea?”
Auraniess asked with the expression of a stray dog looking for food, and Sophia gave a wry smile, prefacing her answer with, “It’s not precise.”
“On the Taliant Continent, Demon Lords and demons are apparently being annihilated by humans.”
“Oh?”
Auraniess’s smile deepened.
“There’s the case of Melinda, so humans can be relied upon. So, what kind of Demon Lord did they destroy?”
“Zagan and Decarabia. Both of them have served under you before, Auraniess.”
Auraniess couldn’t recall them and frowned.
“Who are they? How strong are they?”
“Zagan should be stronger than Forneus.”
Iris said, and Sophia nodded in agreement.
Seeing this, Auraniess’s face brightened.
“Hmm, if humans can reach that level, I can expect something. Humans are basically a species with potential for growth, and even if they fail, we can wait for them to grow!”
“Then shall we make the Taliant Continent our next destination?”
Auraniess nodded, and their goal was decided.
“By the way, what’s his name? What’s he called?”
“He is Marius Tuban.”
“Hmm, an easy name to remember. Marius, I wonder how strong he is… I hope he’s stronger than Forneus.”
Auraniess exuded an aura of excitement and walked along, skipping.
Iris and Sophia watched their master with affectionate smiles as they followed her.
A powerful figure of the demonic realm was heading for the Taliant Continent.
