Chapter One Hundred Sixty-Seven: Who Are You?
Sinyas did not rush to attack but looked at the butterfly lying on the ground, sorrowfully saying, “We’ve failed… The Queen can no longer recover…”
Zane frowned, “What do you want to do!? Do you need three Gold Grade powerhouses to continuously supply you with strength?”
He did not answer, instead angrily retorted, “Damn adventurers, you are no different from that despicable elf!”
“What? Wasn’t it you who did this?” Just joking, I didn’t even have the chance to act before you already jumped in!
The Boss fell silent, his gaze unfriendly.
This guy might have suffered some blow, or perhaps he simply wasn’t good at thinking; otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to orchestrate the destruction of his own teammates.
Unlike Zardana, his defense was far superior to the other three bosses.
Speaking of earth, one naturally thinks of its tough skin, which had been validated in their previous encounters.
Besides, there might even be some sort of recovery skill.
Perhaps he could change his approach.
“Wait, you said something happened to your Queen. Maybe I can help.”
The Boss was taken aback, “With you guys!? What can adventurers do?”
“This has nothing to do with being an adventurer. Starry shook her index finger and analyzed, ‘You said this Light Elf is the culprit behind your Queen’s plight.’”
“But look, she only has Gold Grade strength. How could she possibly be a match for the Illusion Queen? There may be some misunderstanding.”
“Ah!” This seemed to trigger Douhan’s emotions.
He glared, “If it weren’t for the Queen being in a pupating state, how could she have fallen into her trap? The Queen has always been approachable, even caring for strangers, and yet… she suffered such a treacherous attack!”
Wow, how unfortunate to hit someone during their period of weakness; this situation is truly one where the brave take all and the timid perish!
However, this also meant that she would temporarily cut ties with Treika.
The Boss likely wouldn’t believe in such nonsense as having two consciousnesses within one body, and overall, this did count as something Treika did.
“She turned out to be this kind of person!? I risked my life trying to save her, and I never expected…” Starry closed her eyes and said, “In that case, I won’t care about her anymore. What you choose to do with her is your freedom.”
“Hey, that sounds good, but the resurrection ritual has already failed; she is of no use anymore.”
No use, huh? Well, that’s good! So, can you let us go now?
“Wait, resurrection ritual?” Zane realized something and transformed from the White Wolf back to the Wishcaster, spirit invigorated, “I think… I might have a way to save her.”
The inherent purity of the Wishcaster raised the reliability of her words significantly.
Sinyas’s feelings were twisted in a knot, struggling, “No, we have to wait for Linoska to wake up first.”
She was the brains of the village, no, the illusion, and also the first being given life by the Queen. When unsure about matters, asking her is never wrong.
Who would wait for her to wake up! That crazy woman might just wake up and, infuriated, unleash a freeze that would take everyone out.
“If I were you, I wouldn’t be saying such things,” Zane pretended, “The longer your Queen remains in this state, the lower the chance of recovery, and this Water Element clearly won’t wake up in a short span of time.”
“Are you sure you can handle that responsibility?!” Zane suddenly shouted.
Once those words were spoken, Sinyas was drenched in cold sweat, clearly unable to accept this situation, hesitating, “I’ll just watch from the side.”
“Of course, you can.”
…
Turning the Illusion Queen’s body over, the girl’s lips and eyes closed tightly and unconsciously. Her tranquil and dignified appearance was pitiful. If one didn’t know the truth, they might even think she was just asleep.
Not pondering further, Zane gently placed his small hand on the butterfly’s abdomen.
Wish—Resurrection
The magic power inside continually flowed out, and in less than one second, the blue bar was completely drained.
This magic power swirled together to form a water-blue pattern, floating in mid-air, slowly descending.
Sinyas watched this scene with bated breath; if anything went awry, he would protect the Queen at all costs.
At the moment of contact, there was no sound, passing effortlessly through the girl’s body.
The area covered showed no difference from before.
Failed? Zane felt a bit uneasy, but still allowed the technique to continue.
This process was exceedingly slow, taking a full ten minutes for completion.
Compared to the first time, which took half an hour, it was much faster. Perhaps it was due to the difference in magical power or the disparity in individual strength.
At this time, Zane also began to worry whether the Illusion Queen was truly as approachable as Ping Si had said.
If not, just the death of Zardana alone could serve as a reason to annihilate them.
Apart from that, there were no other ways; retreating here would result in this account being completely wasted, trapped in the illusion or dying and losing attributes.
One minute.
Two minutes.
Still no movement.
Heh, I’ve already used my skills, so you might as well stop pretending to be asleep!
The Boss’s gaze began to turn fierce again.
Just as Zane sat there uneasily, a transparent particle floated down from nowhere, drifting into the ruined ceiling of the palace, gathering toward the butterfly’s body.
What is this?
“This is…?” Sinyas was equally at a loss.
Compared to the earlier process, this one was even longer.
The myriad particles showed no sign of stopping, and both Zane and the Boss did not dare make a sound.
“Mm….” A whimper broke the silence.
Out of the corner of his eye, Zane saw Linoska rubbing her head and standing up.
The Water Element groggily opened her eyes and saw Zane and Sinyas sitting around the Queen, the palace in utter disarray.
She could hardly believe her eyes! This guy actually betrayed them???
“Sinyas, what are you doing!!?” Linoska shouted.
This powerful shout shattered almost half of the particles completely.
The Earth Element Boss, terrified, turned his head in shock, putting his index finger to his lips and making a shushing gesture.
Anyone who saw this scene would be unable to remain calm, the ritual had already failed, and teammates and enemies were sitting together peacefully.
Linoska had nothing more to say, and while waiting for Sinyas to calm down, the temperature in the air dropped several degrees.
A sudden cold wave swept in.
Wherever the cold wind blew, the particles completely disintegrated.
Not a single one remained.
The Earth Element froze instantly, while Zane blinked out of the way of the strike.
As this process was forcibly interrupted, the Illusion Queen’s body moved imperceptibly.
“The Queen woke up!!” Sinyas, who had been observing her, cheered joyously.
“What?” Linoska asked, incredulously.
Then, astonishingly, the butterfly sat up from the ground, staring blankly at the several strange people beside her.
Tilting her head, she asked, “Who are you…?”
