Kent, upon learning of the village’s legend, became curious and asked, “Village Chief, Parker, what kind of story is passed down in your village?”
The village chief recounted the legend to Kent and Hanako, a story passed down for generations in Laoshi Village. “Our village has a legend. “S-so that’s how it was.” Kent knew Hanako assisted Catherine at the Sanctuary, but he had never known she was a priest. He couldn’t help but voice his surprise.

“Mmm, my Older Brother and I still have work to do here. You two go back to the village first,” Hanako said, sending the village chief and Parker back.
“Understood. We’ll prepare a grander feast tonight than yesterday. Come on, Parker,” the village chief said.
“Ah, let’s head back then. I don’t think there are any dangerous animals around here, but be careful getting back,” Parker added.
“Mmm, there’s actually one more important job left,” Hanako told Kent when the village chief and Parker were out of earshot.

“Beautiful,” he murmured. Hanako, standing in the center of the pond, began to glow, returned to her original form, and floated in the air with her wings spread.

“Mmm, finished,” Hanako said.
“Wha-!” Kent cried out. When the light faded, Hanako was gone. Startled, Kent looked around for her, but he heard her voice from below. She had returned to her usual form.
“S-so, what did you just do?” Kent asked.
“Mmm, look underwater.”
“Ah, there was nothing there a moment ago, but now there are aquatic plants growing!” Kent asked what Hanako had done, as the pond’s water had been replenished and it had regained its function as a water source. She told him to look underwater, and when he did, he saw aquatic plants growing where there had only been dirt before.
“Mmm, the water from the water veins is too clean for creatures to grow. I dispersed the creatures that had solidified after being drawn up, then lowered the water quality just enough not to affect human health, creating an environment where aquatic life can thrive,” Hanako explained.
“I see, just filling the pond with water wasn’t enough,” Kent realized.
“Mmm, that’s right,” Hanako confirmed, explaining her actions to Kent.
